Episode 1: Angel Attack
Extended: In the year 2015, the series starts out with Shinji waiting for Misato to pick him up while there is a state of emergency. While waiting he sees Rei for a flash. At this point the 3rd Angel is attacking (Title:Angel Attack). The Angel destroys some of the UN forces and almost steps on Shinji. Misato picks him up in her car and drives away quickly. Angel defeats UN forces so they use an N2 mine (nuclear). Blast wave massive damages Misato’s, and ruins her favorite dress. It then shows Misato’s car covered in duct tape to hold parts together and Shinji mentions her theft of batteries. Although blast direct hit Angel regenerates the little damage done to it. Command entrusted to Gendou, head of NERV, in operation. He wants to activate Unit 1. Shinji reads up on NERV while waiting in car elevator. Sees the Geofront it is the underground base and NERV central. Misato lost and meets Ritsuko to find way. Going up in elevator, giant hand in background. They go in room and see Evangelion Unit 1, “mankind’s last hope.” Shinji is the 3rd child and they want him to pilot. Only reason father sent for him, he has a use. No one else can do it, but he says he can’t. Meanwhile the Angel is attacking on the surface. Gendou has Fuyutsuki send for Rei. Rei is badly injured and is wheeled in on a stretcher. Attack penetrates through surface causes debris to fall in room. Unit 1 blocks it from hitting Shinji with hand. It activated itself and ripped out of restraint, impossible. To protect Shinji? Shinji helps Rei sees how injured she is. He “mustn’t run away” and decides to pilot Unit 1. Shinji in entry plug it fills with LCL. LCL oxygenates blood directly. Sync ratio is 41.3%. Fuyutsuki asks Gendou if he is certain. He is certain (smiles). Unit 1 is launched up to surface directly confronting the Angel. To be continued…
