Episode 8: Asuka Strikes!
Extended: Gendou had made arrangements with a committee and the cargo has left port and is making its way here. Toji, Kensuke, Shinji, and Misato are riding in a helicopter and Misato says they are going for a cruise. They soon see the U.N. Pacific Fleet, much to the joy of Kensuke, and the flagship super carrier Over the Rainbow. While the helicopter lands there is a woman in a yellow dress on the ship. Kensuke is busy recording everything and calling everything cool. Toji's hat blows off and he chases it. It stops by a woman's foot and she steps on it. Asuka, the second child, says hello to Misato, pleasantries. Asuka said as well as grown, her figure has filled out as well. A gust of wind blows and lifts Asuka's skirt. Asuka slaps Toji, Kensuke, and Shinji. Toji asks what she did that for. Asuka says that's the viewing fee. Toji says it's overpriced and gives her change, by flashing her. She slaps Toji again. Misato introduces the third child and she says it's not much to look at. The Admiral of the fleet is upset about the pacific fleet now being a cargo service. Kaji walks in to surprise of Misato. Kensuke, Toji, Shinji, Asuka, Kaji, and Misato are all crowded in the same elevator. Kaji says he is here on a business trip. Now they are all sitting at a table. Kaji asks if Misato has a boyfriend and Misato says it is none of his business. Kaji turns to Shinji and asks if Misato is still so wild in bed. Misato gets angry with Kaji. Kaji says she hasn't changed at all. Shinji asks how he knew his name. Kaji says he's pretty famous, piloted an Eva in his first battle with no training. Shinji says he was just lucky. Kaji says luck is in his destiny. Asuka is angry at this point. Scene changes to Kaji and Asuka looking over the sea when Kaji asks what she thinks of the third child. She says he is boring. Kaji says he had a synch ration of over 40% in combat with no prior training to the great surprise and shock of Asuka. Toji, Kensuke, Shinji, and Misato are on escalator. Toji says Kaji is interesting. Asuka awaits top of stairwell and tells Shinji he is coming with her. Asuka shows him Unit 2, her Eva, and explains how much better it is and that it's the first production model. Shinji is not really interested. There is an explosion. Shinji and Asuka run out to the deck and see another boat explode. Shinji says it must be the Angels. Asuka smiles. Torpedoes are fired at the 6th Angel, Gaghiel, and do nothing. Misato wonders if it is after Unit 2. Asuka takes Shinji to a stairwell and changes into plug suit. Asuka yells at Shinji for looking over. Asuka gives Shinji one of her plug suits and tells her to put it on. Shinji is in one of Asuka's plug suits covering his private area. Asuka says they are going to defeat the Angel with Unit 2. Shinji asks if Misato knows, and Asuka says she'll get permission afterwards. Asuka tells Shinji to be ready for an amazing display of piloting. Misato thinks the Angel seems to be looking for something. Kaji is talking on the phone with Gendou. Kaji says he did not expect an Angel. Gendou says he provided him with an extra pilot and he can escape if worse comes to worse. Asuka starts Unit 2 with its German programming. There is an error. Asuka says it is thought noise and tells Shinji to think in German. Shinji tries and fails. Asuka switches to Japanese mode. Admiral receives report that Unit 2 is activating. He wants it to stop and Misato yells to go for it. She asks if Shinji is in there too and he acknowledges he is. Asuka is going to play "hopscotch" and lands on a ship, damaging it. Asuka tells Misato to get an umbilical cord on the flight deck. Asuka jumps ship to ship. She lands on Over the Rainbow knocking off a bunch of equipment and fighters. Kensuke is sad at this. Unit 2 connects external power source and Gaghiel approaches. Asuka says the progressive knife should be enough. The gigantic Angel lands on the ship, which it is bigger than, and Unit 2 drops the progressive knife. Asuka then trips on a retracting platform and consequently falls into the water. Misato says it is impossible to fight underwater with b type equipment. Unit 2 is being dragged underwater until the cable runs out. Kaji leaves in a YAK fighter and says he is making a delivery. Gaghiel approaches Unit 2 underwater again. Asuka complains that it's not working. Shinji says that its B-type equipment. Asuka asks Shinji what he is going to do. This surprises Shinji. Asuka says that he's the famous third child and to do something. The Angel's mouth opens displaying many teeth. Asuka is frightened at the teeth and Shinji replies stoically it's an Angel. Unit 2 is partially eaten by Gaghiel. Toji says it's like fishing. This gives Misato an idea. Asuka tells Shinji to get off her lap and also calls him a pervert. Misato tells Asuka not to let the Angel get away. She says she needs the admiral's cooperation. She plans to have a point blank assault by the last two battleships. They will sink the evacuated ships and they will enter the Angel's mouth and fire by remote control destroying the target and the ships. The Admiral agrees. Shinji is now operating the Eva. Asuka is hitting Shinji and telling him not to operate the Eva without her permission. Misato asks if they understand and Shinji says he'll do his best. They retract the cable and start pulling the Eva and the Angel to the surface. Asuka is still complaining and Shinji tells her to stop. They both operate the Eva and open the mouth. The battleships go into the mouth and fire, destroying the Angel. Unit 2 lands on carrier and falls over, out of power. Ritsuko is looking at what's left of the fleet. Ritsuko says the data is important. Asuka leaves down an escalator. Toji and Kensuke laugh at Shinji in one of Asuka's plug suits. Ritsuko says both reached new synch ratio records. Asuka asks where Kaji is. Misato says he left and is probably back at headquarters. Kaji is speaking to Gendou and says it was an eventful trip. He says it is frozen but alive and asks if this is the key to instrumentality. Gendou says yes, this is Adam. Toji is talking about Asuka who looked cute but wasn't good. He's glad he doesn't have to see her again, and he says he feels sorry for Shinji who still has to work with her. Asuka walks in and writes her name on the board. Toji, Kensuke, and Shinji are all shocked. To be continued…
