This will be a sort of sub site within the site that will be solely dedicated to the live action film. There are stills up and examinations and observations from the stills and interviews up.
*UPDATE* 4/20/05 I put up the two new stills on the fourth page from the Weta website. The site also says that the movie is officially "on hold" confirming earlier reports. I also added a little bit to the top of the Examinations page.
8/25/04 According to a report on DarkHorizons, someone who talked to Tiffany Grant (the voice of Asuka) and she said that the Evangelion live action movie was on hold and there are talks with several big name directors currently taking place.
Evangelion Live Action movie. Every time I hear it, I am in disbelief and fear. How can they possibly transform such a deep series of twenty-six episodes and two movies (well, one and a half movies) into a single film?
Eva isn’t the first Dragon Ball Z, Akira, and Ninja Scroll have all been announced beforehand. However, Eva is the first to reveal actual results and some of the work that’s being done.
All there is to speculate on is some production stills, and more of those will certainly come.
What We Know
Weta Workshop Ltd., the people behind the effects for Lord of the Rings, are currently doing the pre-production designs for the film. As of yet, Weta has NOT been hired to do the actual effects, this is revealed by an interview with Weta and say they want to have the opportunity to do the effects.
At their panel at Fanime ADV reportedly said the movie has a budget of $100 million and will be a retelling of the story.
It is still in pre-production, the earliest stages of making a film.
