Gasaraki Volumes 1-2

Directed by: Hideki Okamoto

The first DVD of this series contains 4 episodes. The basic storyline so far follows Yushiro Gowa, a civilian who is participating in a military experiment. The military units are called TA's (Tactical Armor) and are bipedal military units with high capabilities of speed, maneuverability, and other features making it the best fighting vehicle in existence. Yushiro also unknowingly participates in another experiment involving a special ceremony, which is interrupted by a mysterious presence. UN forces are deployed in a small third-world country after some sort of test and refusal of inspection. UN forces face setbacks and casualties as TA's, along with Yushiro, are deployed for use. They encounter enemy TA's and a place eerily similar to one where an experiment was held.

The DVD features a written interview with Ryosuke Takahashi, a glossary of terms, Gasaraki memos, and episode production sheets with descriptions by various characters and military units. The second DVD has three episodes and features trailers, a written interview, episode production sheets with descriptions for them, a glossary of terms, and a behind the scenes of dubbing video.

Final Verdict: At this point Gasaraki is an intriguing series, with action and some odd incidents that will likely be explained later. More questions are raised as the series continues increasing my curiosity.
