Rune Soldier Volume 1 Directed by: Takashi Wada Louie is magician, although not a very good one. Three female adventurers decide they need a magician to complete their group, however they can only find the male Louie willing to go out on adventures with them. Genie is the warrior of the group, Merrill seems always concerned with money and fights with knives and Melissa is a priestess who, unfortunately for her, was given a revelation that Louie was the "hero" she was to follow. Louie likes to fight with his fists and isn't very good at spells, while his teammates leave him to do the heavy labor. The DVD contains four episodes, a clean opening and closing, and previews. Final Verdict: While some of the conflicts are a little predictable and the feeling that a love subplot will arise within it, Rune Soldier starts off well. Louie is quite funny in his incompetence and the way he handles things. The series has potential to be really good or somewhat of a disappointment. |
