A Pen Pen for your Thoughts

Off the people went, along with their equipment, to the place of legend
With their packs on their backs they left the town and went round the bend.
An insane gambit they said, was what they were approaching up ahead,
For their goal was not gold nor riches, but some great lookin’ hoes and bitches.
After buying these farm tools and some pet dogs at the market,
Their real journey was ready to begin though they did not know it.

They stumbled into a land, full of magic and name brands,
It was the land of chocolate covered televisions, the small sign read.
The leader cried out: hey, what’s with the crummy picture?
He said: we must fix this grave injustice at this very juncture.
He complained that the televisions did not make good eating
And protested the poor picture when the ruler ordered a beating.

The ruler was indignant when the leader called him a dum-dum
And in indignation threw him out of the castle and onto his bum.
He yelled at the castle and cursed its name in his spite,
And when some guards came he quickly took flight.
Out on the road the group laughed and jeered,
Even the pack animals called him a queer.

When the leader heard of this his fear was bound,
After eating the pack animals he turned right back round.
To the castle he strode, entering the ruler’s abode.
He wanted to duel, but the ruler was cruel.
He threw the man in jail without any hope of bail.
Too bad said the man, I guess I’ll get used to crappy TV. - 5/19/04
