Battling the Euro

As you know by now the Euro was introduced in Europe at the beginning of the year. Its value is more than the American dollar coming in at about $1.17. When the Euro was first announced almost immediately a wave of 10-10 number commercials were launched. This was the result of a secret plan by the government to try to raise the value of the dollar in retaliation to the Euro. With phrases like, “A dollar is worth a lot” trying to convince people that the dollar is worth more than it actually is. Although the commercials have died down some still remain in a futile attempt to raise the value of the dollar. It seems likely they will soon disappear for they have served their purpose, though unsuccessfully.-1/15/02
