Fun With Songs 4: Communist Christmas Propaganda 4

Shortly after the Russian Revolution, in order to dissuade religious practices, the Communist Party changed the lyrics of Christmas songs.

Rich man got run over by a reindeer
Oppressing people on Christmas Eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
For us its communism, we believe.

He’d been oppressing poor in fog,
To him vengeance we did owe.
And he worked for a corporation,
And he exploited the poor
into much woe.

When we found him Christmas morning,
At the scene of the attack
He had hoof prints on his forehead,
And incriminating deutsch marks
on his back.

CHORUS

Now we're all so proud of Lenin,
He's been leading us so well.
See him in there watching football,
Drinking vodka and bread
with cousin Joe.

It's not communism without him,
All the noble's dressed in black.
And we just can't help but wonder
Should we nobles dead
or take their land?
TAKE THEIR LAND!!!

CHORUS

Now the goose is on the table
And the pudding made of fig (ahhhhh!)
And the blue and copper candles,
That would just have matched the hair
in noble's wig.

I've warned all my friends and neighbours,
Better watch out for yourselves.
They should always give a license,
To a man who kills the rich
and slays the elves.

Sing it, bourgeois!

CHORUS - 12/29/04
