Government Mishaps
Recently the White House office of drug control announced that the Taliban made large sums of money off of shipping heroin illegally to other countries. Also, just a few weeks ago the Department of Defense closed an office that was rumored to be planning on exaggerating information and stretching the truth. Two unrelated events? Perhaps. Now, these are all well and good except for the fact that a few months before September 11 our government gave the Taliban millions of dollars because of their crackdown on opium in their country, drastically reducing the amount of drugs coming out of the country. Does anyone else see a problem with this? Now, you may be saying, “the government either lying or making a mistake,” in disbelief. The facts presented either mean the information is false, despite the honorably honest politics, or the government made a mistake. Not just any mistake, one costing millions of dollars. A mistake that overshadows all previous ones seen on this website. Could it be that the respectable White House office of drug control (I actually have no idea if they are respectable) fabricated this information. So, which is it? Or could it be part of an international conspiracy clouding the truth, no. Well, I do not know all the answers (despite my superior intellect), so I cannot say. Though one thing is for sure, someone is getting fired. –3/20/02
