A Pen Pen for your Thoughts

This section will just be for, basically random thoughts and feelings. Since my thought process is mostly random you can probably expect this to be updated frequently. Back to Previous Pennys. Back to Pen Penny.

Post Post Post Post Game Report

It is impossible to ignore such a large event as the Super Bowl. This year’s was one of the most exciting games with only decent ads, although a few stick out. With the Patriots win in a remarkable drive down the field and game-winning kick, one group was sadly forgotten. Gamblers, yes these people who were assured by nearly all, or all, sports analysts of a Rams win. With many already suffering with the stock market in Enron and K-Mart, they saw it as a sure thing to at least double their money. They poured their remaining cash into the game with collateral; like houses, cars, working legs, and so forth. With a spectacular show in the most recent Super Bowl (it was Sunday for those of you who forgot) the price paid by the common gambler is staggering. While a few may have gotten a large pay day off of what could have been thought throwing money away, the majority must now face even emptier pockets. As the economy lies in recession, the money from consumers is turned into broken hearts, wallets, and legs. -2/4/02
