The Vision of Escaflowne

Hitomi Kanzaki is your average high school student, with an average high-school crush, and, of course, a best friend, Yukari. Only difference is that she has a link to another world. The pendant that she wears was passed down to her from her mother. And it's by no means ordinary. It has a special ability . . . that Hitomi has no idea about, until, of course, when she's trying to break one of her track, speed records and a boy suddenly appears in front of her. A boy, and then the dragon he's been hunting. Her vision of seeing him killed by the animal helped her to save his life, and got her a free, even if it was accidental, ride back to Gaea. There, the moon and the Earth hang in the sky, and the people can range from ordinary human looking, to humans crossed with cats, or dogs. Just a little different. On top of all this, she finds out the one she's been traveling with, Van, is actually a prince! The prince of Fanalia. No sooner had he went through the rites of becoming king, now that he had slain the dragon, Zaibach attacked, and the Guymelef, Escaflowne, had to be wakened from its slumber. Hitomi and Van made a close escape because of her pendant, but Fanalia didn't have such a fate. Van's kingdom burnt to the ground. Now, there's only two things on his mind, protecting the only ones he has left, and getting revenge on Zaibach for the deaths of his people.
