Sailor Jupiter, or Kino Makoto. She is sometimes known by the name 'Lita'. One can call her many things: tough, feminine, boy-crazy, and loyal. Her parents died in a plane crash, but in spite of that she seemingly has enough money to live alone in an apartment where she grows various plants as a hobby. It is to be noted that she is afraid of flying and airplanes in general, which is understandable. Note here that whether her parents are dead or not has been debated, depending on which timeline one considers.

Makoto came to Juuban Junior High after being kicked out of her previous school for fighting. At 5'6, she is taller than her classmates and wears her old school uniform because nothing else fit. In spite of her 'tough girl' image, she wears rose earrings and a green ribbon. Makoto has also gone through some crushes, which suggests that in spite of her image she is, in fact, a more typical teenage girl than some might give her credit for.

Her hobbies include growing plants, martial arts, and cooking. When her friends are in trouble or being bullied, she is often the first to come to their defense.

During the Silver Millenium, Jupiter was a guardian and member of Princess Serenity's court sent to the future to be reborn.


Physically one could call Jupiter the strongest of the inner senshi. Her powers are as follows:

Supreme Thunder-Allows her to summon lightning from the sky with a small lightning rod on her tiara.

Jupiter Oak Evolution

Although Jupiter herself is a senshi of lightning, she also has some control over plants. She has also been called the Senshi of Courage due to her willingness to stand up and protect her friends, and fight for what is right.
