She is often considered the senshi of love and beauty-one Aino Minako, if you will. She is sometimes called 'Mina' by her friends. Minako is active, bubbly, and outgoing, and plays on the volleyball team. Her home life is not much to speak of; her father's whereabouts are unknown, and she and her mother do not seem to get along.

Minako has a guardian cat named Artemis, who once served as an adviser to Queen Serenity during the Silver Millenium. She looks very much like her friend Usagi, the moon princess. Ironically, she and Usagi both seem to envy each other for different reasons, but this is more of a light-hearted envy that doesn't affect their friendship.

Mina loves to quote various sayings, but is often getting them mixed up. Though she is a bit scatter-brained, she has a determination and a leadership quality that serves her well as leader of the inner senshi.

Before moving to Japan and joining the senshi, Venus was a crime-fighting senshi known as 'Sailor V'. When she and Artemis came to Japan, she acted as a decoy princess until Sailor Moon herself awakened as the princess of the moon. Sailor V is still something of a celebrity-video games and movies were made of her, though the popularity of Sailor Moon sometimes overshadows her.

During the Silver Millenium, Venus served as the leader of the inner senshi and a member of the princess's court. She was sent to the future to be reborn along with the other senshi.

Venus's powers include the following:

Crescent Beam- Exactly what it sounds like, and a reference to the moon.

Rolling Heart Vibration

(Venus) Love Me Chain- This attack uses the chain of small hearts around her waist to attack an enemy.

(Venus) Love and Beauty Shock- Considered her most powerful attack, or at least one of them.

Though Venus is a senshi of love, her powers can be best compared to that of light.

One must also note the variety of attacks Venus had as Sailor V, which include a variety of physical attacks as well as her usual magical ones. Below are some of them:

Venus Sulfur Smoke-An attack involving an awful smell from the planet Venus's atmosphere.
