Authors Note: Hiya guys!
This fic isn't like any I've done before yet. Duo has no feelings for Heero
yet, he just is starting to gain them
unlike my previous works where he already has established feelings. Heero
is written a little differently, but still cold, Hee-chan!
Anyway, give me feedback!
Starve a cold.
Feed a fever.
Cling wrap. I must have seen him wrap it a thousand times over. Like clockwork kinda. This perfected, precise method of his that is recreated in a continuous, forever exact motion. The timing, the angle. Perfect always, and the same. Yeah, I know, I have no life. I think I've been around him for too long. I've memorized the way he wraps leftovers. Pathetic or what? But it is true. I have studied everything, and every motion of Heero's. Maybe he notices. If he does, he never says anything. Not that he's a really talker like me. Two weeks. Two, long weeks I've been living with Heero. It's a temporary situation. We got assigned a mission together, so we're sharing an apartment. I'm stuck with the fucking tin man here. He's got no heart, and he pays more attention to that stupid laptop than his own partner. Does he even consider me his partner?
Duo's eyes drifted away from his cold, silent partner. He trailed his fingers against the smooth, tabletop of their small, wooden dinning table. It barely had space for anything more than two plates and two glasses. Which was all that was needed. Just in routine formulated, after the missions Duo would go out, pick up the food and return. Heero would drag out of his room, stretching after long hours at the computer, sit, eat and then wrap the leftovers. He always had leftovers. Duo found this a little strange, Duo was so used to eating all the food he could. After all he was an orphan and didn't get a lot of food, and now that he could, he was going to eat until his belly was content! Heero simply ate half and wrapped the other half. Did he have such a small stomach? Was he really not that hungry? It left Duo to watch Heero reach for the cling wrap, and secure his dish, over and over. Each night. Duo couldn't wait until the mission was over. He'd be able to head back to L2 and perhaps even catch in some time to shoot some hoop or actually get a date. He'd been so busy, he'd forgotten how to have a good time.
Duo stared at his own plate of food. He hadn't finished eating his donburi. There was still rice spread over the middle of the plate, a few tempura seafood's off to the side. For once. He'd try to mimic Heero, despite the fact his stomach was still growling. He shoved himself away from the table, the sound of his chair scraping against the floor was an audible alert to the Japanese pilots ears. Duo lifted a broad smile to his mouth, holding his plate tightly in his hand, the other reaching out towards Heero.
"I'm done eating too, I think I'll save mine for late, can I use the saran wrap?"
Heero simply raised a brow, curiously studying over Duo's plate. "Hn." Heero finally snorted, handing over the bright, blue, thin box to Duo's eager hands. Duo pulled the thin, clear plastic sheets from the roll inside the box, wrapping it around his food in the same fashion he'd watched Heero use each night. "You do not usually have leftovers," Heero's monotone voice coolly said.
That's the first thing he's said to me all night.
Duo smiled, ripping off the end of the wrapping. "Yeah, well tonight I'm just not really that hungry, ya know?" Heero's eyes continued to watch Duo.
There is something really, strange about those eyes. He always stares at me like that. I catch him staring sometimes, but he doesn't look away. It's like he *wants* me to know that he watches me like that. It should be annoying the hell out of me, but it doesn't.
Heero finally turned his gaze away, his hands reaching to collect Duo's plate. The Japanese pilots, cold, calloused fingers brushed over Duo's. The sign of a true worker. Holding a gun couldn't give Heero worker hands like that. He slid the plates into the small mini fridge, his cold, calculating gaze returning apathetically to Duo. "Why do you always put more on your plate than you can eat?" Duo blurted. Hey, it had to be said sometime, and Duo wasn't very good at keeping his mouth shut over these matters. "I don't," Heero stated. Duo waited for his partner to give him an explanation for his statement, but he didn't. Heero brushed past him and moved on back to his room. Back to his damn computer.
I don't know if I'll live through this mission!

If I seem this way to you now, just wait; you're going to see that there is a lot more to me than you had thought.

Duo's eyes opened softly. Was it morning already? His eyes laxly focused to the clock. 3:00AM. It was too early. With a silly, sleepy smile to his lips he began to doze back to sleep, but something was wrong. The clock.. what was behind the clock? His eye opened once more, realizing quickly, that Heero was crouched at his bedside near the clock. Before Duo could mouth his annoyances or ask questions Heero slammed his hands over the braided-boys mouth, hissing faintly. "Shh," Heero told him. Heero's other hand was pressing down firmly on his shoulder, pinning him from bolting up. Duo's eyes widened.
Shit! He's stronger than I remembered! I can't even move!
Heero kept his hand over Duo's mouth, moving slowly closer to the boy, but his eyes were not on Duo, they were distracted, looking to the open door to Duo's room.
What's he going to do? Lock the door and rape me??
It was NOT a good situation, he didn't know what to make of it, Heero was holding him down, and covering his mouth, in the dark, in HIS bedroom at 3AM! Heero lowered his head down, leaning to put his lips closer to Duo's ear. Strangely, the action actually brought a flush to Duo's cheeks. "Stay quiet, baka. We've been found, there are OZ enforcers in the building, and they are going through each apartment room to find us. We have to leave. *Quietly*." Heero seemed to stress on the act of them being silent. Duo felt sort of embarrassed for his first assumptions. Heero was simply in here protecting him. Heero lifted his hand from his partner's mouth, pushing himself away from the American. "We can take em, let me get my gun," Duo advised. The stoic-eyed boy curled his lip, forming a faint, feral snarl. "We're not going to fight here. There are families in this building, we're leaving," Heero padded from Duo's bed. His movements were quiet, trained, swift steps, his hand pushing open the window with little effort.
Families? Since when has Heero cared for other lives?
Duo pulled a black shirt over his head, hastily working to dress himself. "What about our laptop? All the information of our mission is still in here. Our files, everything!" Duo whispered, his movements leading him towards the open window as Heero slipped out. In his hand he held up a small, blue, mini disc. "Hn. I am not that careless. I activated a virus on all of our equipment. It is wiping all information as we speak." Heero slipped out the window, placing his feet against the small ledge, he offered his hand out to assist Duo. That was the one thing Duo admired about Heero, the fact that Heero was always prepared for the worse. He always had a plan, he was a tactical thinker. That was something all the pilots seemed to have, but Duo. That thought always irritated him.
Duo accepted Heero's hand, sliding out on the small ledge. Heero stared below; it was a long way down. Not too far, but long enough to hurt. Heero turned his eyes to Duo, his voice low, and smooth, "We're jumping." "Yeah, that's a great idea, I'll just jump and break my legs, make it easier for the enforcers to get a hold of me. Great plan Yuy!" Duo jokingly told his partner. "I'm not made of stone, I can't jump from this height, there's gotta be another way down." "This is faster and effective. You will not get hurt." "How can you guarantee my safety?" "I will go down, and I will catch you..." Duo's face displayed a slightly puzzled look.
Catch me? Heero Yuy? He's actually gonna help me?
Duo formed a small smile at Heero's words, "Fine, you've convinced me, we'll jump together." Heero slid off the ledge, gripping the small, ledge with his fingers. Duo lowered, copying Heero's motion. That was when he noticed; Heero's hands were clawing against the stone ledge to hold it more steadily as he picked his area to fall in.
So that's it. That's how his fingers got that way. He's done this several times before.
Heero's voice traveled towards his ears, "Push off from the ledge with your foot. Try to keep it a clean, straight fall. If you stay too close you will grind against the building. If we land on the grass we will be fine. Keep it straight. You will have only a split second to reform after pushing off. If you perform this incorrectly you will suffer damage." Duo sighed, Heero wasn't making this fall any easier, he could barely hold on at this point. Heero pushed over, he watched the Japanese boy drop towards the group. Heero fell with such a plain look to his face. This was nothing to him. It was just so simple. If only things felt that simple for Duo. The violet eyed boy did as commanded, the fall only lasted a few seconds, no, less than that. It was empty. He was sure the fall would hurt, but it didn't hurt quite as much as he had anticipated. Perhaps it was because Heero did just as he said he would, and caught him. Duo found he had plowed over on top of Heero, his partner's arms still loosely around him from grasping on. They were lying against the grass, the impact of the fall finally waking Duo to his senses. He was on top of Heero! Duo numbly tried to lift off Heero, "Sorry, I didn't think you were serious about catching me, but... thanks Heero." Duo raised a silly smile. Heero was kind after all, somewhere in that tin, mechanical body of his actually was a heart. Heero's eyes stared back into Duo's, watching the young American intently, "They will discover the room. Let's go." His hands helped to push Duo from off his body, rising to his feet without reluctance. It was like he'd never even fallen. He didn't feel any pain from it.
What scares me is how I felt when I was on top of him, my face actually felt, hotter somehow? The feel of his body close to me like that, and the way he looked at me. Damn! I need to stop thinking about this! We've got to get out of here!
Heero turned to look over the corner of the building; with a few flicks of his hand he diverted Duo's attention to the cars. This was the sheer beauty of the silence between then, Heero could just nod, and Duo always knew exactly what Heero wanted him to do. "Right, I'll take him out, you get the car and pick me up all right? Two minutes tops!" Duo informed Heero, he flashed Heero his broad smile, giving him a victory sign, "Okay, let's kick some ass!" "Hn." Duo gathered the attention of the enforcer by the car, gaining his attention to lure him away from the car. Heero's agility was amazing, he raced with such athletic strength to a vehicle, his hands reaching to seize hold of the driver within, grasping the mans throat and carelessly, without thought slamming the mans face against the wheel. He kicked the unconscious body out of the vehicle.
Duo's body moved quickly, lowering to dodge the stumbling mans hits. He was a sloppy fighter, why didn't this enforcer fight with well... force? He fought so weakly that it wasn't even a challenge for Duo to crush his boot against the mans teeth. The enforcer spat out blood, holding his mouth in agony before he crimpled on the floor, tending to his sore injuries. The car swerved up beside Duo, the window rolling down, "Two minutes is up, get in." Duo didn't hesitate, his hands reached and pulled the door open, the moment he was inside, Heero drove off. "Where are we going to go now? If Oz found that place either someone leaked us or the signal was traced." "It does not matter," Heero said plainly. Duo diverted his sight to Heero. The windows rolled up. There were tinted. It was a nice car. It was raining as well. Simply mountains and open room seemed to be ahead of them after a while. It was soothing. It was still late. A nap wouldn't hurt, so Duo dozed off.
Duo lifted his eyes open, it was day, or at least he thought it might have been day. A storm was raging, the sky was cloudy, and the winds sent the trees crazy. He could see it through the window. But he wasn't in a car. He was in a cabin. He snapped his gaze to the light source; it was a small fireplace. Heero was near the fireplace, gazing into the flashes. "How... did we-" "I knew of this location, I drove us here, brought you inside, and hid the vehicle. We will be safe here until the storm dissipates," Heero interrupted him. Duo lifted from off the mattress, inhaling deeply, his chestnut braid swayed at his back, snaking gently towards the back of his leg. He lowered to sit beside his partner, a wide smile posted to his face. "So you carried me inside? Oh Heero, I love this house! It's perfect for us, our family, and our new married life!" Duo teased. Heero scowled, "What are you talking about?" "I'm teasing you, joking. You know? Ha, ha? In America it was old custom for the husband to carry his bride over the threshold of their new house." "Why? Her legs were broken?" "No... the bride's legs were fine." "Then why carry her?" "Look it's just customary! You look into things too much, you have your traditions and I have mine!" Duo wasn't upset with Heero, he thought it was funny, they were finally saying more to each other, now that the damn computer was gone.
Heero raised his hands up to the fire, the faint lighting of oranges and yellows gleaming on Heero's skin. Giving the young man a bronze appearance. Duo swallowed, he never thought about it before, but Heero actually was a really attractive guy. He thought Heero had always been attractive, but not from this stand point. Duo put his hands to his stomach, "I'm so hungry! I really wish I'd eaten all my food." "Why didn't you?" Heero asked, his eyes settling back to Duo. "Huh? Oh, I was just copying you; I was trying to figure out why you always had leftovers. I know you're hungry, why starve yourself like that? Are you... anorexic? Bulimic? You can tell me!" Heero gained the faintest hint of a smile. "Baka," He said, but it wasn't offensive, it was more so said in an amused, and fond tone.
Duo flushed. Heero was actually smiling, not completely, but it was still a slight curve to his mouth.
Being this close to him, and seeing him smile.
He would actually have a nice smile if he just let himself. He's such a cold guy,
I get just as frustrated with him as he does with me, but... he's my partner,
and I feel like he knows me better than anyone else. How sad. A guy like him knowing
me is kinda scary, and it's exciting too. I never have to care or worry about
what he thinks of me.
Heero reached over, grasping hold of Duo's hand. "What the-" "Shut up!" Heero quickly retorted, he opened out Duo's hand, placing a few yen within the American pilots hand. "We have money," Heero told him, stating the obvious. Duo titled his head, the confusion festering in his thoughts. "Yeah, I know, and?" "You mentioned to me once that you had no family, and no money. Our situations were not far from being the same. I do not eat all my food because it keeps me in remembrance." Duo looked towards the money, "Remembrance of a time when you had very little to eat?" "Some thing's you want, they are right before you, yet you cannot have it. Never have it completely. It is remembrance, it is symbolism. Suppression of contentment."
Duo closed his hand; he raised a grin, placing the money back within Heero's care. "Now do you want to know why I eat so much? Because I am content. I'm content that I'm alive, and that I can get those meals. Meals I could never get before. I don't want to always be living each day in misery. I want to enjoy life, and end this war so everyone can do like me and fill up on the little good things in life that we still have!" Heero's eyes remained set on Duo, they didn't break their hold, and he was studying Duo.
"If you always look for bad you'll find it. I just
accept the bad, and the good. I want to go back in my life and change things,
but sometimes I think that if things were different, I wouldn't have met you,
and you wouldn't have met me," The violet-eyed pilot told Heero, a broad smile
still touching his mouth as he spoke with a light tone. "Hn. That would have not
been a loss." "Yeah, I know you want to get rid of me," Duo sighed listlessly,
waving his hand as his sights turned to the flames. "I meant that it would not
be a loss for you," Heero corrected, his voice heard over the soft crackling of
the fire. "What? What do you mean? That I'd be better off not know you, but you're
better off knowing me? Heero?" Heero stood abruptly, his thin, perfect, lithe
form rising. The cold, unfettered eyes of the malicious boy stared back at Duo,
offering a straight, bland expression. "Get back to bed." Heero always seemed
to avoid Duo's questions like that. He could deal with it. He tolerated the silence.
Perhaps it was for the best. Duo thumbed to the bed, "Where will you sleep?" "Hn.
I don't sleep." "That's ludicrous Heero. Come on, this is the one time you really
can rest." Duo's hands hastily took their seize of Heero's, much to his surprise,
Heero didn't resist. He let him just lead him, it was actually a big accomplishment.
He'd forgotten that Heero hated to be touched; yet he let Duo touch him so easily.
Maybe Heero was finally seeing Duo as a competent partner.
Duo sat down on the mattress. "See! There's room! And it's cold, take off your shoes and get under the covers." Duo kicked off his boots, crawling under the warmth of the dusty, green blanket covering. Heero took a slower approach placing his shoes at the side of the bed in silence before sliding under the covers. Duo could feel the warmth of Heero's body beside his. It felt so strange and different to Duo. He liked the feeling of Heero being close to him. It was a comfort. It tempted him to be closer.
What the hell am I thinking??? He's my partner,
not only that, he's a GUY! I can't fall for flippin' Heero Yuy!
Duo covered his face with his hands, rubbing his eyes, "Heero?" "Ah?" "Is this your first time sleeping with a guy?" Duo teased, a bright grin to his mouth. Heero's dull eyes regarded Duo blankly. The thunder outside roared, it sounded as if it had struck lightening right on top of them. It was only getting worse. "Never mind, you don't take jokes very well. Uh, hey, Heero, thanks for helping me out back there at the building. I know I irritate you, and that you wanted to do these missions alone, but still, I'm glad you looked out for me. Anyway, good night," Duo closed his eyes, his head sinking into the pillow, the smells of the musky bed filling his nose, the cold mist of the rain still felt in his bones. He couldn't sleep, despite the fact that he was feeling so utterly comfortable being close to Heero like this. Shouldn't he feel weird? Shouldn't it feel strange to be sleeping so close to the man of steel? It felt so natural, that it took Duo by surprise. He had always thought that getting this close to Heero would be a death wish, but it felt right. Duo shook his head lightly; his hormones must have been playing tricks on him.
I have been working with Heero for a long time now. I guess I could call him my friend now, I mean a close friend. We fought side by side, and he saved my life so many times. Just as much as I've saved his. I really shouldn't give the guy a hard time.
Duo lifted open his eyes, his face met with Heero's, only Heero was fast asleep. Apparently the boy from L1 could sleep now after his statements of being a well-seasoned insomniac. His messy, brown hair was tousled in his face. Duo smiled faintly. When Heero was asleep, he didn't look at all terrifying, or abhorring. He looked so peaceful and docile. It was the first time; Duo ever felt this way with Heero. He felt attached. Duo stretched out his fingers slowly, his body shaking. His fingers lightly grasped to Heero's shirt, clinging to the cool, hunter green cloth. The faint smells of gunpowder and sake scented Heero. Sake? When did Heero drink sake? His partner was still a partial enigma. Duo gently pulled forward, resting his head into Heero's shoulder, his fingers still holding to the fabric. He could feel the faint beating of Heero's heart, and feel the boy's breath against him. He was falling. Deeper and deeper into... what? Love? He can't love a guy, and especially not Heero, but he knew he was feeling something for him. He gently closed his eyes, this time; he found sleep more easily induced.
Duo lifted his eyes languidly, his eyes focusing on the room. It was empty, the fire was put out, and the door was ajar. More importantly, Heero was nowhere in sight. This caused Duo to bolt from the bed, the blanket rolled to the floor, settling on the dusty wooden floor. He jerked on his boots, practically stumbling against the creaking, whining floor to the door. His hand gripped tightly to the door handle as he peered outside. "Heero?" Duo called outside. He jerked his head about frantically. Where had Heero gone? Did he leave him here to simply find his own way back? Duo sighed, rubbing his head gently. He would actually expect Heero to try and accomplish the mission without him.
That bastard! How the hell am I supposed to find my way out of here?
As Duo stumbled out of the cabin he spotted a small briefcase on the grass near the door. He kneeled in front of it, turning his gaze from side to side; once he was satisfied he popped it open. There was a small laptop inside. It was obviously a parting gift from Heero. Duo flipped open the laptop, switching on the power. "MISSION REASSIGNMENT: Reassignment, our previous operation plans were discovered, Duo Maxwell, L2, Heero Yuy, L1, you are to separate and retrieve information to reveal the leak within our organization. You will both be placed under cover, and reunite when the command is given. For this mission to begin please respond with acknowledgement." Duo sighed. Heero could have at least said goodbye, but business was business. Duo typed in his password, followed with a series of sequenced numbers in prioritized form and meaning. "Mission acknowledged. Now to find a way to get to Deathscythe."

It's not everything in life, it is life itself. Don't forget that.

Heero walked through the moonlit streets. Night had fallen faster than he'd anticipated. There were still puddles from the rain that covered the holes and cracks in the streets surface. The town's lights were shining brightly in the distance. He kept to the sidewalks near the park, pacing under each brightly glaring street lamp. The waters of the pond were a cool, mercury reflection in the light, and the trees were shedding of hit's summer leaves. Winter was coming fast. Heero could feel the cold hints of the coming weather tease the back of his neck mercilessly with no avail. He never quite noticed how cold it had gotten until he'd been with Duo. The loud mouthed, cocky American seemed to always find a way to make him feel, well, just feel. Emotions were fickle, and they hinder abilities in the battlefield, but this was not the case with Duo. It made him feel like a more efficient solider.
His eyes lowered to his hands, staring at his fingers, his cool gaze watching with intent. The thing about Heero was the fact that he could remember everything in his life with perfect accuracy. It was part of his training. His 'programming', there were simply events in his life he chose to 'delete' per say. One thing he could not rip from his mind as much as it hollowed and gnawed at his bones, was the feeling of Duo pulling against him. The mass of braided, chestnut hair pressed to his cheek as Duo's forehead gently rested against his shoulder. He had not been asleep. He could never fall asleep. At that moment however, he was inflicted with a notion that nauseated him. He wanted Duo. How could he not want Duo? Duo had the personality everyone adored, and the way he touched everyone in their lives left them with a scar of his memory. As much as Heero wanted to tear away these thoughts and notions, they infected him like a fast spreading virus to his system. Like a fever. A fever, which was taking over the mind and soul of cold, Heero Yuy. It was a welcomed idea to separate from Duo. He needed time away from the braided boy to collect his thoughts and snap out of the fickle delusions.
My dedication is to my mission. Nothing else. No one else.
He would reunite with Duo after his tasks were completed. His steps crashed heavily against the small pools of water, the faint mist of the rain lightly patted down on his coat. "Hey Mister! Will ya buy a Piyo chocolate? Comeon mister! It's not much!" Asked a small persistent voice at Heero's side. Heero emitted a low growl from the depths of this throat, "Beat it kid." The small boy was no more than seven or eight; he continued to persist, "Please? Just one? It's really good mister!" Heero snapped his gaze, turning his cold, marble eyes down on the small boy. The boy looked frightened by Heero's expression. He held a box filled with chocolate, small chickens. But the thing that caught Heero's eyes was the fact that the boy had a long braid of hair over his shoulder. Heero grimly shuffled through his pocket, handing the boy over a small amount. "Whoah! Thanks mister! Here, you can have the whole box!" "Hn." Heero grunted as took the yellow box of chocolate. Why the hell did he buy that?
He dragged up to his new apartment. One room. It was strangely quiet without Duo there. He set down the box of chocolates on the counter and began work on setting up his computer and a telescope. His mission was to spy on Dr. Emilio. A Doctor who worked for the colonies, but was originally a member of OZ. He was a possible suspect, and it was Heero's job to gather all the information. Conveniently, his apartment was perfect for spying in on the doctor. Heero cleared his throat, holding the Doctors personal filed in one hand a one of the chocolate candies in the over hand. His eyes studying the material as he seated himself in front of the telescope.
Previously a Scientist within the research labs
for the mobile suit productions of the Cancer model. He switched his allegiance
to the colonies when he delivered vital information on the creation, functions
and mechanics of the Cancer mobile suit. He was placed in the colonies research
facility to continue helping the colonies grow. However, he is working here now
on assignment. It is possible that OZ is in contact with him. Either they are
using him, or he is siding with them. Investigate and report.
Heero dropped the papers to the floor at his feet, his eyes peering through the telescope lens. He could see the doctor pacing around his room; he was wearing a tie, looking very concerned. He quickly reached and grabbed the phone. Heero assumed that it must have rang. The doctor looked frantic. Heero could read his lips.
"They're going to find out! Fuck, I'm good as dead already, my career, my life, it's over. I'll be murdered! What are you going to do? Dammit! Help me out here! What? Yes! Yes, dammit! I'll get your damn money, just help me. Cover me!"
Heero popped another piece of the candy in his mouth. This was interesting. If only he could gather the full conversation, he'd make it a priority to tap his phone. The Doctor hung up the phone, the doorbell must have rang, he could see the doctor race over to the door. A young boy who looked sixteen, or seventeen was standing at the door front. A young, thin boy with blue eyes and wild, light brown hair. The boy was wearing a trench coat, watching the doctor with a soft smile. The doctor put his arms around the boy, he seemed to be sobbing. Heero hated to see such displays of wasted emotion. Eventually the doctor got it together and invited the boy inside. The boy unbuttoned his trench coat, hanging it up on the coat hanger. The doctor sat down on his couch, he was babbling something frantically to the boy. Heero could understand it, either he was speaking too fast, or it was in another language. The boy just smiled, smoothing his hands over the doctor's bearded face. The boy lowered his head, kneeling in front of the doctor. Heero lifted his brow. The boy slid off the doctor's pants, and proceeded to please the older man... orally. Heero jerked back from the telescope, his hands gripping tightly to the chair. The doctor liked BOYS?
Heero shook his head, he had to gather it together. Who was that boy? He pulled forward, viewing through the telescope lens once more. The boy was wiping his mouth. He finished pretty fast. The doctor had a lax, pleasant look to his features. He was fast asleep as well, exhausted from his release. The boy tossed his head back, his eyes turning to glance out the window directly at Heero.
Kuso!!
Heero knew he'd been spotted, yet he didn't move, he kept viewing. The boy pressed his fingers against the glass of the window, his smile just as kind, and plain as when he first had walked in. It amused Heero to a degree. He was smiling just as if he hadn't just sucked the doctor's dick five minutes ago. It was an ignorantly happy smile. The boys lips moved. "Come here and you can have me. I'm waiting." Heero jolted back once more, this time pushing over the telescope. Who the fuck was that kid? Just then, the phone rang. Heero didn't remember having a phone installed in the apartment, he soon remembered the cellphone in his brief case. He snatched up the small, black item. "Hai?" Heero blandly said. "Hey! Hey Heero! It's me! Duo, hey, isn't this cool? Makes ya feel all like a spy with these phones huh? We can keep in contact!" Heero inhaled deeply. It was just Duo. Who else did he expect it to be? "State your emergency," Heero said plainly. "What are you? 911? I just wanted to talk to you! Share with you the info on what I got!" "Aa?" Heero turned his head, glancing towards the apartment once more, the telescope was down on the floor, but he could clearly see that all the lights in the room were now off.
"Right, I'm investigating Cooper. He's one of the colonies inside men, but it was suspected that OZ offered him a sum of money for his information. The guys got like two sides! One minute he's all nice and sweet, the next he's at a club! Not just any club, but he goes there to collect a drug pick up by some guy named Moro!" Duo told Heero this with such enthusiasm. Heero was still unsettled over his experience. He'd have to be more careful now. The boy knew he was there; he'd have to find a way to view them before they ran off. "Duo, that information is only vital to you. We are not to interfere with each others missions unless it is an emergency," Heero clenched his teeth, speaking the words through them bluntly. There was a brief pause over the phone until Duo broke the silence with a nervous laugh, "Right, so you caught me. It's just, I'm used to you being around and it's kind of lonely over here, so I thought I might call." "Baka." "Yeah, I know, I'm an idiot." "Stay focused on your mission." "yeah, I know, good night Heero." "Duo." "Yeah?" "I have something for you. Finish your mission and you'll get it." Heero clicked off his phone. It was time to upgrade his previous tatics.
