"Come here and you can have me. I'm waiting."
Heero raised a hand slowly to his head, holding it gently. His headache was getting worse. He knew it was from lack of sleep, but there was nothing he could do. At least he could rest his body, find the small, quiet comforts in the night sky, and the shining stars above. The pale moonlight poured in the room, it's rays spreading over towards the figure sleeping against the small futon on the floor. Heero's eyes focused to that figure. It was Duo, fast asleep; the sheets were rattled, hanging off his body. His legs poking out into the bare light, his hair was braided, but the braid was coming loose. His arms were strung up, and he actually was making small noises in his sleep. Heero snorted softly.
Baka.
The Wing pilot slid away from the window, approaching the futon quietly, his hand seized hold of the covers, pulling them over Duo's legs. Once he was assured that Duo was tucked in his eyes drifted to study the boys face. Duo's features were so soft. The lighting on his face gave him a more angelic persona. The cocky shinigami in pure passivity. Heero's fingers gently touched the side of Duo's face. Indulging in the feel of the soft skin against his cold fingers. Duo didn't even stir from the touch. He remained calm, and very much asleep.
Why do you have to be so damn attractive? I'm not supposed to fucking feel this way. But I can't help it. It's getting worse. This stupid American has grown on me. His fickle smiles, his fickle words. Everything that was once annoying has sickeningly become a comfort. I can't do anything right. I can't even keep my head straight.
Heero snatched his hand away from Duo, tugging himself towards the kitchen. He had to leave the room, being deprived of sleep was taking it's toll on his mind. He was actually thinking about Duo sexually. Surely that wasn't right, but he couldn't get it out of his head. It was healthy for a boy to think of sex at his age, right? But with a boy? And Duo? It wasn't right for Heero, he knew it couldn't be right, but little by little, he was becoming tempted. Tempted to have Duo's mouth wrapped around him. That mouth that sprouted out those hearty jokes and broad smiles. The thought alone could keep him up for days.
He stepped into the kitchen slowly, reaching to boil a pot of tea set on the counter. His eyes focused to the clock. 1:00AM. He'd already received a mission update on the laptop. It was confirming that they were both back on joint mission once again. However, their assignments information wise were completely different. There was a detail that Heero had left out, a small minor detail that he never told Duo. It was confidential and strictly only for the Wing pilot's viewing.
"There is a possibility that Duo Maxwell is a leak suspect as well. Further information on Duo Maxwell is classified. Heero Yuy, investigate Duo Maxwell, if there are any signs of betrayal or information leakage, terminate the target."
The teapot softly whistled. Heero lifted the small, heated pot off the burner. The order was simple, and he wouldn't have minded it if it had been anyone else. It left him to question whether he really knew anything about Maxwell at all. To be a suspect, something must have happened. He always followed his orders. He wasn't about to change his routine now because of sympathy. In this world, everyone was guilty until proven innocent. He wouldn't let his heart over compromise his mind. He filled the hot, steamy water into a small brown cup, placing the tea bag inside. He'd find solace in the glow of the computer screen, that much was always there for him.
Heero sat down at the small table, setting his cup down beside his computer. His fingers lightly glided across the keyboard. Searching within any files he could surmount on Cooper or Emilio. Bills, Emilio had tons of bills. In fact the man was practically in debt. Cooper on the other hand had a lot more money than he let on. Money that he hid and inserted into his bank account in small amounts monthly. The plot was thickening. Emilio had an initiative to go against the colonies. Money. But if that was the case.. what about the phone call?
"They're going to find out! Fuck, I'm good as dead already, my career, my life, it's over. I'll be murdered! What are you going to do? Dammit! Help me out here! What? Yes! Yes, dammit! I'll get your damn money, just help me. Cover me!"
Get money to who?
He just had to get that phone tapped, but in order to get the phone tapped, he'd have to get inside the apartment. Heero's gaze lifted to look towards the room. Duo was still asleep. It wasn't really necessary for Duo to tag along. He'd finish and let him rest. He had forgotten to even sample his tea. Leaving a full cup of tea, his laptop on, and the gentle wind from the outside seep in, he left. The night chill quickly alerted Heero, bringing his senses to their full potential. He flipped on his hood, keeping his features obscure and hidden as he approached Emilio's apartment complex. He had a nice place to stay it seemed. The complex was large and stylish. A little too expensive for Emilio's situation. Was he really even in debt? The foyer doors of the apartment slid open, letting Heero and a few well-dressed, young men into the building. The man at the front desk of the apartment seemed to be wrapped in a novel, his eyes wide and intently fixed to the text on the page of his fascination. It gave Heero the perfect opportunity to slip by and step into the elevator. Soft, sappy music was playing. The lead singers voice wailing softly a love song. It was sickening.
Heero pushed the button for the fifteenth floor. The elevator stopped at the fifth, two people sliding into the elevator to join Heero. It was two young girls around Heero's age. The girls held shopping bags in each hand. They were dressed richly, in lavish clothes and gold pins to hold their hair in place. One of the girls tugged her friends arm, whispering, "Look at him! He doesn't belong here, his clothes are so- street common." The other girl looked towards Heero, a gentle smile fixing her face, "I think he's cute." Heero tried to keep his gaze focused away. The girl held her smile, tapping Heero's shoulder lightly, "Say, what's your name?" Heero shrugged her hand off, giving her a cold glare, "Don't touch me." The girl laughed, "I should be the one saying that, cute and aggressive! Do you live here?" Heero couldn't wait for them to reach the fifteenth floor. The girl persisted handing Heero a small yellow card, "Here, it's an invitation to my brother's party. You can come if you have this. You should bring a friend! So that way Rei can be with your friend and I have you all to myself." The girl giggled as Rei gasped, "Asoko!" Heero's eyes lowered to the card. "You are invited to Sakaguchi Moro's party"
Moro? Didn't Duo mention that Cooper had dealing with a drug dealer named Moro?
The elevator stopped on the tenth floor, opening for the girls. Asoko gave Heero a flirtatious wave; "Hope I can see you soon cutie!" It was the first time a girl ever flirted with him, if he weren't so engaged in his mission he might have actually taken the time to be flattered. Finally Heero reached the fifteenth floor. He'd calculated which room it would have been and to which side. His motion detector and infrared had showed that the apartment was empty. He hoped that it was still that way. No one was around. That was good; it made decoding the password door lock system ever easier. Computers were simple for Heero to break. He had a better relationship with metal, computers and machines than anything else in all existence. Or so he thought. The door opened as he hit 'enter' the code was accepted. He stepped inside, pulling the door shut behind him. It was empty. There in front of him near the window was the same couch he'd seen Emilio on. There was a black rug, posh furniture and strangely shaped lamps and bowls. It was an expensive looking living quarter. He had to be fast, Emilio could have returned at any minute. He gathers a small plastic sandwich bag, pulling a small microchip from the thin, clear plastic containment. Taking hold of the phone in the other hand to install the chip.
"So you decided to finally come join me," A calm voice said with amusement. Heero dropped the phone, his eyes snapping to the owner of the voice. It was Keith. The same young boy Duo had met earlier, and the same boy he'd seen in the window. The boy wore only a purple blanket, which he barely had tugged around his waist. Why hadn't Heero sensed him? Heero did not respond to the boy, his mind was reeling, trying to formulate a way of escape. Keith continued to approach Heero, his hands reaching to touch Heero's shoulders. Keith buried his face against Heero's shoulder, catching the pilot by surprise. The boy sighed softly, brushing his lips against the fabric of Heero's jacket. "Heero, I've missed you so much. You don't know how long I've waited to have you here," Keith whispered, his fingers seeping through Heero's hair. Heero was shocked, his arms promptly tried to pry Keith from off of him. "I don't know who you are," Heero sternly spoke, pushing the boy off with frustration. "How could you forget me Heero? You chose to forget me as well? Erase me from your memory? Heero, aren't I your dreams, your ecstasy?" Keith persisted, his arms staying away from Heero this time. Heero stumbled back slightly, carrying a scowl to his features as he continued to back up towards the door. Keith's deep, endless eyes watched Heero curiously, "You are far more attractive up close. Come on. Stay, play. Just a while. Heero, I promise you, play a few little games with me and things will be much more clear. I'll make you remember. I'll even let you discover something. Discover just how good I can make you feel. You want that.. ne?"

I love it! The feeling it gives me! Seriously, you've never tried it? :-)
Yeah it can really fuck with your brain. But once you take it enough,
You just don't care. You need it. And it's in you. Want me to give you a taste?

Duo stirred from his sleep. There was the sounds of a faint beeping, was it an alarm? The computer? Then something had fallen over, at first he thought Heero might have knocked something over, but he realized it was merely the wind passing through the open window beside him. But that was just what disturbed him, where was Heero? He slid laxly from under the covers, the cold wind touching his naked skin. Duo shivered lightly, rubbing his hands over his frozen arms. "Oi! Heero?" He called out, stumbling to gather to his feet. Duo padded softly towards the window, stretching out his hands to slide it close.
Heero, the inconsiderate bastard. What's he trying to do, freeze my nuts off here? Maybe he can take dramatic climate changes, but I can't.
As Duo peered out the window he could see small, white pieces of ice flittering down from the sky. The first snow. Duo's fingers loosened their grip from the windows handle. The first snow had an angelic, feel to it. The sight of these white flecks of heaven touching the earth for the first snow. Lightly specking the ground. "Heero! Look out side! It's snowing!" Duo exclaimed, snapping his attention to the main room. He knew Heero was antisocial, probably on that silly laptop of his brooding over the mission tactics. Duo moved away from the window, stepping out into the main room to glance for Heero's whereabouts. The laptop was still on, and it was set on the table. A cup of tea was set by the laptop, but the place was utterly abandoned. Duo hissed, swearing under his breath. He hated the fact that Heero enjoyed a disappearing act so much. He fell into the seat in front of the laptop, staring at the screen. There were lines of text, telling information on Doctor Emilio and Cooper. Heero was being really thorough about this matter it seemed. He dipped his fingers into Heero's teacup, quickly yanking his fingers out, "Itai!" Duo yelled out. The tea was still very hot. He slipped his scalded fingers into his mouth, sucking on them gently. Heero hadn't been gone long. Duo's eyes focused more clearly to the screen. There was a white text box on the screen. There was text typed in the center:
"Use the telescope. Look out the window. : )"
Had Heero left this message? Duo's curiosity was rising to its peak. He pushed away from the table, approaching the window in the room. He couldn't understand what significance this could have. Did Heero want him to view the suspect's apartment while he was absent? He couldn't figure Heero out. As always, Heero was still, the ultimate enigma. His fingers clasped around the telescope, his body leaning as he shut one eye, focusing his view into the lens. He could clearly see Doctor Emilio's apartment. The lights were on. It was a nice apartment. It looked cleaned. It had an image to it where one would think no one lived there at all. That it was merely a fake, commercial prop out of your typical housing magazine, with plastic fruit in watercolor ceramic bowls and silk flowers near your sofa. A completely organized illusion. He noticed out of the corner a boy in a purple blanket. He was naked, only a simply blanket adorning his narrow hips loosely. That didn't shock Duo near as much as the fact that the boy had his hands so fondly touching Heero Yuy. The man of steel. The boy who refused to have anyone touch him in such an intimate way.
Pain. It seered through Duo's mind as he shoved the telescope away from his face, crashing the high-tech equipment to the floor, reducing it to another useless piece of broken junk. He was breathing heavily, a hand touching his bare chest as he heaved. He couldn't believe what he'd just seen. It didn't make sense! It didn't make sense at all! Heero Yuy was fucking the suspect? No! He had to give Heero more credit that than. Heero was... he... he liked boys? In *that* way? He didn't like girls? Suddenly Duo felt dirty, extremely dirty. The time he pulled Heero so close and smelled sake on his breath he couldn't help, but wonder if that sake was from the alcohol laden aroma of another man or boy. The times when Heero stared at him, he viewed him... 'differently'. His mind was swarming with questions, angry, and confusion. Was Heero gay? Was Heero on their side? Was Heero fucking Keith? Who was Keith? Was Heero under cover? What the hell was Heero doing over there? Why did the thought of Heero with another person hurt so damn much? Was he... jealous? Did he want to be the one touching Heero that way? It was too much for him to take. He staggered into the bathroom, washing his face in the sink before gritting his teeth together tightly. His eyes lifted to stare into the mirror. His heart was aching, his pulse was racing.
No... no dammit! I can't be this way! I can't... *feel* this way! It's not me. It's not me at all. My heart.
Duo's fingers clenched at his heart, trying to collect his breaths. What was going on? That should have shocked him of course, confused him yes, but *hurt* him? No! The typical partner would have found some reasonable conclusion. The typical partner would wait until Heero returned and questioned him. The typical, good, perfect, trained partner, would hear his answer, shrug, finish the mission and leave. But Duo was affected emotionally. Because for one second, he felt a pang of jealousy and anger. That's not a way a guy feels towards another? Then it began to sink in. Settling into his brain and burying it's way through his scull. The silent voice in his head. That soft whisper of the only truth in his mind.
Face it. You're falling in love.
The water was still running in the sink. Trickling cold water over Duo's fingers. He slid his pair of boxers down his narrow hips, his mouth felt dry. He turned on the shower, stepping into the cold spray of water, letting the water warm up slowly against his skin until it produced a cloud of steam. His eyes stared at his fingers. His hands were going pink from the heat, his hair, and body soaked and sprinkles of water touched the bathroom floor.
When did he start to gain feelings for Heero? Was it when Heero offered him trust and faith?
"I will go down, and I will catch you..."
When Heero voiced Duo's importance to him?
"Hn. That would have not been a loss." "Yeah, I know you want to get rid of me." "I meant that it would not be a loss for you."
He could hear the door open and shut. He could hear the sounds of two feet padding through the room. He'd left the bathroom door wide open, the steam leaking into the main room and touching the ceiling. Through the haze of steam he could see a form dressed in green, stoic eyes, and a lean body. "When did you awake?" Heero asked calmly. Heero could go through mass destruction, and still act just as plain as before. Did nothing matter to him? Duo turned off the shower, reaching for a towel to wrap around his waist. His long, wet hair draped over his shoulder. His eyes focused to Heero, he lifted a false smile. "When I heard an alarm go off. Thanks for the note, the view was entertaining," Duo tried his best to seem unaffected. Heero gave Duo a briefly confused look. Heero held up a small, blue device in his hand. It looked like a tracking device. With a green screen in the center and electric controls. It looked complicated. Heero pulled out the antenna from it, "I set up a bug system on doctor Emilio's phone." Duo snorted, stepping closer towards Heero, "Yeah? Didn't look like that was all that you were doing." Heero raised a brow in Duo's direction.
"Heero! Look. Tell me what the hell is going on? You first vanish, leave me some note to look out the window, I look and see you with- with- Keith!" Duo pushed his way past Heero, looking thoroughly frustrated; water droplet flew from his hair as he grabbed hold of Heero's teacup. The remains of the tea still held within. "I... am you partner Heero! Do you know what it means to have a partner? It means you're supposed to share your information! You don't go on little private missions alone, you don't leave without giving some warning. You don't conceal information and you sure as hell don't get intimate with the suspects!" In Duo's rant the cup fell form his hand, crashing to the ground shattering into pieces. Both the boys' eyes watched the cup shatter. It almost seemed to happen slowly, and neither boy even flinched. Duo raised a hand to his head, shaking it slightly, "I- I need to get a towel to clean this." Heero quickly reached out, snatching hold of Duo's wrist. "Duo," Heero said quietly. A serious look was crossed over Heero's face, his grip tight and painful on Duo's wrist. "Duo no baka!" His hand released the American boys hand, Heero collected a towel from off the counter, soaking up the spilled tea into it as he lowered to the floor.
"I had to tap the phone. To obtain further information on Emilio's affairs. I had assumed the apartment was empty. There were no signs of life within before I set out for there." Duo bit his lower lip, falling into a seat at the table, "What about Keith?" Heero scoffed, placing a few broken pieces of the cup into his left hand, "He claimed to know me. He said my name. He's a raving lunatic, I managed to set up what I needed before he came in." Duo rubbed at his lip curiously, "Funny, he claimed to have met me before too now that I think about it. What did he want?" Heero shook his head slowly, "Nothing. He just simply hugged me and I left." "That's it?" "That's all. Here," Heero fetched from his pocket the invitation to Moro's party. "Moro! He lives in the same building as Emilio?" Duo queried. "Hai. I met his sister, she gave me the invitation," Heero said monotonously. "Wow! You're a real ladies man... and a... mans man apparently," Duo said the last part hesitantly, his eyes looking up to focus to Heero. There was the faintest, smallest hint of a smirk on Heero's mouth. "Fool. You should dry your hair. You will catch a cold," Heero stated, washing the faint curve from his mouth. "Yeah, yeah, I know. But Heero, why did you leave that note?" "What note?" "*That* note!" Duo pointed out, his finger prodding in the direction of the laptop. Which had nothing on it. Simply the same files of Emilio, and Cooper. Duo swallowed. Where did it go? "It was... just there a while ago..." Duo couldn't believe it! Had he been seeing things?
Heero pushed close the laptop, shutting it completely. "Turn around," Heero commanded. Duo, in his moment of being dumfounded turned without questioning. Soon Heero's fingers were kneading through the mass of his wet, chestnut hair, drying it gently with a towel. It was very strange for Duo. No one had ever actually touched his hair in such a way. "Look, Heero I'm sorry for assuming that you and Keith were- you know. It just looked that way from here," Duo sighed, rubbing the few drops of water form his face. "I'll tell you." "Huh? Tell me what?" "I'll tell you before I leave." "So, your finally going to share stuff with me? You're going to let me actually be your partner?" Heero tugged at Duo's hair painfully, allowing the boy to scowl and shout his protest. "Hai," Heero finally added. A flush rose to Duo's face at that moment. Being able to look up and see Heero there, drying his long hair and wet shoulders. Heero was with no one else, he was here with him. And his feelings were growing consistently. "We will investigate Keith tomorrow after the party," Heero said. "Because he knew your name, and claimed to know me you think he might be speaking with the leak, or that Emilio is the leak and the information is being passed to him and between Cooper?" Duo smiled broadly. He wasn't that stupid, Duo knew everything once he had all the facts. Heero seemed surprised by how quickly Duo was catching on.
"Yes," Heero's voice coolly spoke. He dried the last part of Duo's hair, rubbing the damp towel down against Duo's back, collecting the water that trickled down his spine. Duo closed his eyes briefly. It felt so good. Heero's strong, worker hands pressing the towel against his back, his hands working through his hair. The warmth of Heero being near. He was lost in the moment. His mind kept reflecting back to the motel. The feeling of Heero's mouth lapsed over his. The kiss that was once intimate reality was now an unrelenting dream. A hazed image of what was, and never would be true. That filled him with sorrow. He really, was beginning to realize that he did indeed want Heero. The more he denied it, the worse it felt inside of him. These were one of those moments where he felt cared for. A feeling of security he hadn't had in a long time. Soon Heero's hands dropped away from his hair, there were the sounds of shifting, and then the sounds of Heero fingers, busily typing away back on the damn laptop again. Duo clenched his teeth together. When it came to him against that laptop it was no contest, the laptop won every single damn time.
ARGH! And I say again, I don't know if I'll live through this mission!

Phone sex? Yeah I've had it once or twice.
I don't trust doing that sort of thing with people I don't
Know well, so give me time to know you then... : )
