Before the arrival of the Third Robotech War veteran, Scott Bernard, but after the initial occupation and invasion of the Earth by the Invid, a small group of fighters and a larger ship emerge from space fold just behind the asteroid belt seperating Mars and the Earth.
"Omega leader here. All systems at normal." A young man wearing CVR-3 Cyclone body armor said, flipping three switches on his veritech's console panel, "Jettison of the fold-capsule is complete." he said as a large, cylindrical object flew from the back of his veritech.
"Roger, Omega leader. Omega two and three report the same conditions." The voice came from the young man's earpiece, mounted in his helmet.
His VT, named an Omega, technical designation VF-1S-OM, was a top secret model. It was based from an original Super VF-1J, its armor permanetly mounted and secured. Flight in atmosphere was no longer a problem due to a "gravity buster"; A device that was fit tightly between the two booster packs on his veritech's back. The device itself was square and joined the two boosters, essentially making one large back unit.
"You know your mission Omega squad. You are on your on now. Good luck." This time video was accompanied by the audio. The Captain's image flickered across Omega one's screen.
"Jack, be careful." Omega one now realized that the last sentence the Captain had spoken was directed only towards him on a closed channel.
"Of course, Father." Jack replied. He looked to his left and right at his two squad mates. His three-veritech squadron, and the Horizon, a Gemini HM Carrier, made up what was known as Advanced Reconnisance Group Mercury; also known simply as Mercury Group. The fact that the first coordinated attack against the Invid was in his hands didn't settle too well with him.
It was now up to him and his two squadmates, to coordinate a strike against the Invid, that would reclaim the Earth. The balance of Earth lay in three human's hands...
