~*Sakura’s Exhausting Sunday*~
It’s Sunday morning and Sakura is happily whirling Kero around her room - she and Tomoyo are going on a picnic! When Sakura comes downstairs, she doesn’t even throw a fit when Touya calls her a monster - Sakura is in too good a mood to get angry! However, when she tells her father and brother what she plans to do that day, they remind her that it was her turn to clean the house that day, because she went to a piano recital last time it was her turn, and Touya had to do it.
Poor Sakura becomes very forlorn at this and goes to ring Tomoyo. Tomoyo tells her not to worry about it and that they’ll go some other time - meanwhile, Sakura should do her best cleaning! But after they hang up, you can see that Tomoyo is disappointed.....
Sakura feels bad about not keeping her promise, and decides on writing Tomoyo a apology letter. Then - it’s cleaning time! Sakura vaccums, does the dishes, cleans the tables, and is still working when she stumbles upon a Clow Card under the mat - the Wood!!! Sakura can’t believe her luck. But when she shouts for Kero, this shocks him into falling into the washing machine....he was trying to do the laundry.....Sakura looks but can’t see him,and tucks it into her pocket, deciding to show it to him later. Kero appears out of the washing machine, just slightly frazzled....and is just about to give it up when he hears Sakura call that she’ll have dessert with him later. Of course, this changes his mind....
Sakura goes down to the basement as it’s the last place she has to vaccum, and then the vaccum cleaner picks up ANOTHER card - but because it is covered in ink, Sakura can't make out the words. She takes the other card out of her pocket and places it beside the unknown card. Suddenly the phone rings, and Sakura runs upstairs to answer it.
It's Fujitaka (her father) and he had forgotten a blue envelope which contained some important notes. He asks Sakura to please bring it to the bus stop. Sakura quickly puts on her skates and zoomes outside. Meanwhile, ink is slowly clearing from the unknown card........
Sakura waves good bye as the bus with her father in it pulls away, blue envelope in his hand. Then, Yukito calls out to her. He compliments her for bringing the envelope and invites her to have lunch with him. At the resteraunt, Touya is working there, and while Sakura has a sundae, Yukito just keeps eating and eating and eating.....Sakura is a little dumbfounded. Sakura almost gets herself into a fix by mentioning Kero, but then makes up for it by saying that Yukito was healthy because he ate so much....Yukito comments that it is expensive too.....
Skating home, Sakura is in high spirits from her lunch with Yukito, and when she walks inside, she finds Kero sleeping, and all the laundry hanging up to dry. Suddenly a noise comes from the basement, and Sakura wakes Kero up. Grabbing a mop, Sakura carefully advances towards the basement door with Kero. Opening the door, they are greeted to a freaky site - a tangle of branches staining to get past the door!
Sakura slams the door shut and tries to hold it, while Kero announces that it’s the Wood card. Sakura remembers that she found it earlier, and Kero goes off at her for not signing her name on it. Then he says that there shouldn’t be anything to worry about, since Wood was a gentle card. Of course, it couldn’t be that simple. The Wood card is too strong and pushes the door free - grabbing both Sakura and Kero. Then, out of the blue, the doorbell rings.
Sakura becomes frantic, and Kero pretends to be a boring stuffed doll. The person at the door keeps ringing, and Sakura accidently calls out that she’s coming. Of course, now that person knows that someone’s home.....just as the "tree" begins to grow bigger, the front door opens and who else would be there but Tomoyo. She had come to see if Sakura need help with the cleaning and instead found this....Quickly she untangles Sakura and Kero.
Sakura releases her wand, but when she tries to seal it, all that happens is that the tree recoils and disappears back into the basement. Sakura says that now she can go get the card, but then the tree reappears, faster and stronger than ever, and Sakura and Tomoyo run for their lives - up the stairs, out the window and onto a little balcony. Just as they thought the "tree" was going to get them, it stops. And then, leaves start appearing and in the end there is a huge crown of leaves on top of the Kinomoto’s house. Kero comments that it was just looking for sunlight....but then he notices the laundry he did - ruined. This makes him angry...and then the house shudders. Kero warns Sakura that they had better seal the card and quick, before it destroys her house!
Sakura begins to climb through her house, wearing an outfit specially designed by Tomoyo which she had brought along..."just in case"...as they get nearer to the basement, you can hear the sound of rain. Kero asks Sakura if she had found another Clow Card...Sakura is a little sheepish. She jumps out and yells at the Rain card. Then, they see the true form of the Rain card - a little pixie-like creature sitting on a small cloud. It floats towards her and began sprinkling her with water. Sakura thinks it wasn’t too bad. Until the Rain card starts dumping torrential rain on her head ^_^
Anyway, Sakura dashes for her life, the Rain card hot in pusuit. Kero advises Sakura to use the Watery, and so she calls upon Watery to capture the Rain. The Rain card puts up a fight, but is eventually returned to its card form. Next, Sakura turns to deal with the Wood, but Kero tells her to wait a moment. Suddenly the true form of the Wood card floats in front of them - a small, lovely woman which reminds me of a dryad (a tree spirit.)
Wood quietly returns to her card form and a pretty rainbow appears in the basement. Sakura signs her name on the cards and apologizes to Tomoyo for the whole mess, but Tomoyo couldn’t be happier - she got better shots than she could have in the amusement park! However, something less enjoyable is waiting upstairs. The entire house is a complete shambles. Poor Sakura and Kero just stand there in horror, and Tomoyo offers to give them a hand with the cleaning. Sakura and Kero become very relieved ^_^
Later on that day, when Fujitaka and Touya walk in, the whole house has been cleaned from top to bottom....and investigating upstairs, they find Sakura sprawled out on her bed, fast asleep. Fujitaka says that he’ll give her some cake later, and Touya comments that unless Sakura’s name was on a piece, he’d eat it. In her sleep, Sakura mumbles that she *did* sign her name.....
