Silver Dragon: The Flames of rebirth Chapter 3 *thoughts* [Signs] SHOUTS Insert standard disclaimer here. I don't have any money anyway so suing me will cost you more then you could hope to gain even in satisfaction. Usagi was happy and cheerful even after having had to get up early to catch the bus to get to Furinkan High, which was leaving the rest of the Scouts somewhat puzzled when they compared this to the normal habits of their leader. "Hi guys how are you this morning?" asked Usagi. "Alright who are you and what in the world did you do with Usagi?" demanded Makoto, a Makoto that was staring hard at Usagi. "Its me," protested Usagi. "Prove it," challenged Mina. "How about this?" asked Usagi. Drawing on what Ranma had taught her the night before she made her golden crescent appear on her forehead and give off a faint golden light. "It really is you isn't it," said Mina in tones of wonder. "How did you make the crescent appear any way? I thought it only appeared when you were using your power." "Well Ranma showed me a lot last night," started Usagi but was interrupted by the bell ringing. "Class I have just been informed that due to an exchange program we will have a new student with us from America," the teacher started. A young man walked into the room. He was just a hair under six foot tall with blond hair and greenish eyes, dressed in a Furinkan school uniform. "This is Justin Bradford, so please welcome him to our school." Justin walked over and took a seat by Usagi and winked at her when the teachers' back was turned. "What are you doing here?" asked Ami in a hushed whisper. "Ranma told you that it is my job to protect the princess no matter where she is," responded Justin just as quietly. At lunch Usagi, Mina, Makoto, Ami, Michuru, Haruka, Ryoga, and Justin sat down together, when some of the normal, normal as in usually attending, people of Furinkan walked over. "Hello, my name is Akane. I'm Ryoga's friend," said Akane introducing herself. "Hello," the answered. "I was wondering if I could sit with you guys today?" "Sure the more the merrier," responded Ryoga. "Thanks, uh, so how do you guys like our school so far?" "I think it just a little crowded around here with two schools stuck into one but I like it anyway, there're more boys to chase this way," commented Makoto with a wink at Ryoga. "I don't suppose you girls know anything about the Sailor scouts, being from Juuban do you?" asked Akane. "Not really, why?" asked Mina. "Uh, no reason just making conversation. Ryoga," responded Akane. When Ryoga turned a questioning look she continued, "IwaswonderingifyoucouldhelpmetalktoRanma." "Did you just ask if I could help you talk to Ranma?" asked Ryoga half in disbelief and half in fear. *I hope Ranma hasn't had time to do anything stupid since he broke up with the girls!* "Yes I did do you have a problem with that?" the look that accompanied the question make answering totally unnecessary. "Well I'm not sure where he is at the moment but I'll tell him that you want to talk to him next time I see him," Ryoga offered. "Thanks. So do you girls know anyone around here besides Ryoga here?" "Well we're starting to meet some of the other people like-," started Michuru but she was interrupted by Kuno. "Fair Akane, doest thou know where I the Blue Thunder of Furinkan can find the foul coward and sorcerer Saotome, after defeating him I will allow you a date with me?" "If your talking about Ranma Soatome I'd have to tell you that he's not a coward, nor is he a Saotome anymore," spoke up Justin with a slight edge to his voice. "Wait a minute are you the Kuno that's been bothering Ranma?" "I the Blue Thunder am going to punish the foul sorcerer Saotome and all who stand with him!" "That's what I thought," said Justin with a malicious grin and sparkling eyes. "Good bye," he whispered as he uncoiled from the ground in an upper cut that lifted Kuno into the sky and out of sight. "Nice trajectory," commented Ryoga. While Akane just stared at him. *** Mamoru Chiba was standing on the roof of the University of Tokyo wondering at how his life had changed. He had been an orphaned collage student that had eventually learned that he was the reborn soul of the Prince of Earth. Then had been the revelation that his soul-mate had also been born again. Then there had been that time that he had served Beryl.... His mind shied away from those memories, just before his thoughts were interrupted by someone behind him. "Are you thinking hard or hardly thinking?" asked Ranma Atlantis. *Commander of the Crescent Guard, Lord of Atlantis, Champion of the Sun, Adept class Battle Mage, Master Bladesinger ...* Ranma let that thought trail off as he mentally shrugged at the list of titles that people had tacked onto the end of is name. "What are you doing here?" asked Mamoru, turning to look at him. "I was just stopping by to see how you were doing. By the way I was thinking and I've noticed that you've changed a lot since the last time we got together. I was wondering if you would mind if I had a look around your head and see if something is wrong?" "Why would you think something is wrong?" asked Mamoru. *Why in the world am objecting to having him check me out?* wondered Mamoru as he automatically tallied up both sides of the argument. "Well that's just a polite way of saying that I'd like to see just how much of your memories are gone and how many are just buried," responded Ranma with an easy grin. When he noticed Star stirring he added telepathically, Mamoru seemed to argue with himself for a second more and them was won over. "Alright just promise me that you're not going to turn my brain into mush or something." "No problem," Ranma assured him. He quickly touched Mamoru forehead. The symbol of Earth flared to life in response to the touch of his mind and his magic. *Let me see here, Pluto said that he had been rude to the princess, dumped her, had been trying to push her away, and had been standoffish with the scouts. That doesn't sound at all like the Endymion that I knew.* Ranma continued to probe Mamoru's mind until he caught a trace of something that definitely didn't belong there. *What is this? I need to talk to someone that might know what happened!* Ranma smashed Mamoru's mind with a sleep command so hard he would probably sleep for a month, then he created another communication disk this one contacted Luna. *** Luna was sleeping soundly on her own little bed, now that the Tsukino family knew that she wasn't an ordinary cat she didn't have nearly as many problems deal with, dreaming of when she was a kitten and had gotten under foot at one of the royal balls and had nearly been trampled. Then like magic just before she was injured someone scooped her up and carried her out of the press of feet. She looked up to see the one known to the Queen's advisors, like her mother, as the most dangerous being in whole of the Twelve Kingdoms.... "LUNA WAKE-UP I NEED YOU!" yelled Ranma through the link that he had created, with a grin that would have made the Cheshire cat look somber. "AHHH!" screeched Luna as she leaped up in the air and landed with a thud on the floor of Usagi's room. "What was that?" she demanded of no one in particular. "Luna, I need to know something," answered Ranma. "What do you need to know and how important is it?" "Very, and I need to know if Mamoru was ever in direct contact with Beryl since the last time I saw him before the Moon Kingdom was destroyed!" "Well he and the princess were caught up in one of Bayral's attacks that nearly killed them just before Queen Serenity sent all of them to the future, and then after they had awakened he served her for a while under the influence of the negaverse, why?" "Because something has been influencing him and I thought it was Beryl, but I wanted to make sure before I did anything about it." "What are you going to do, how are you going to fix it?" asked Luna, the wise counselor of the scouts gone replaced with the understanding of what would happen to Usagi if Mamoru had an 'accident'. *He can fix anything!* insisted the part of her that remembered that rescue when she was little and all of the times that he had protected the Kingdom. "That's going to be a little bit harder then figuring out what was wrong in the first place," admitted Ranma. Then just as Luna's expression started to fall he continued, "However I do have an idea or two. Tell everyone that I'm going to need some time." *** Mamoru woke up to see that he was sanding in a valley surrounded by mountains. "Where am I?" he asked looking around. He noticed that he was dressed as Tuxedo Kamen. "Your standing in one of my training rooms," answered Ranma. He was dressed in a blue-green gi and standing lightly on an outcropping of rock. "Why?" asked a very puzzled Mamoru. "Because I have something that I need to know and the only way to get it is to see you fight," answered Ranma calmly as he let fly with a lighting bolt. "AHH," yelled Tuxedo Kamen as he jumped aside. "What are you doing?" "I'm going to fight you if that's not ok then that's too bad, because I'm going to do it anyway," with that announcement Ranma launched a number of little blue and white missiles at him. "Fine then!" shouted Tuxedo Kamen turning and throwing a whole bouquet of roses at him. Ranma disappeared from where he had been standing and reappeared behind Tuxedo Kamen and kicked him into the mountain. Tuxedo Kamen got up and shook his head, then he looked at Ranma just in time to see a huge blast of energy coming at him. "This is going to hurt!" said Tuxedo Kamen. The blast crashed over him and when it cleared away it revealed that he had changed into Prince Endymion, complete with sword. "Well now that you're ready we can get started," said Ranma as Fire and Star turned into a massive broadsword. "You mean you knew this was going to happen to me?" asked Endymion. "Yep, I planed it to happen that way." Ranma closed with just enough speed that Endymion barley had time to get his sword out before Ranma slashed him. Blades and sparks flew around them for a minute until their faces where inches apart over their crossed swords. "Good night prince," said Ranma as he whispered the final word to one of his most dangerous battle spells, then the world disappeared in a rush of sound and darkness. "Now where am I?" demanded Endymion. He was standing on a featureless plane of black glass that stretched on into the distance in all directions. "We're standing inside your mind, which explains all the empty space," laughed Ranma. "On a more serious note I wanted to talk to all of you and this was the best way to do it." *I really hope he doesn't remember enough to really hurt me here!* "How did I get here?" chorused the Mamorus that were standing opposite Ranma. They all looked around and did a double take. Standing beside Mamoru were another Mamoru in everyday cloths, Tuxedo Kamen with a red rose on his jacket, another Tuxedo Kamen with a black rose on his jacket, and a hazy, indistinct Prince Endymion. "Whats going on here?" asked the original Mamoru. "Well these are your mindsets. You think in slightly different terms when your in these other forms, hence the problem. One of your other mindsets is still on Beryl's side. "How can that be? Usagi saved me!" "Well we thought she did, but obviously she didn't," pointed out Ranma. "So what do we do about it?" "Well we could try brain washing but I didn't bring any soap, so I guess that means you going to have to fight this one out on your own," with that Ranma sat back in a chair that hadn't been there before and was incased in a bubble of what looked like glass. "You'd better get started." *** After school everyone gathered at the Tsukino home for a meeting, everyone except Ranma and Mamoru that is. "I guess that this is it," said Rai. "There is something wrong with this picture," she continued looking around. The scouts are sitting around Usagi's bedroom. Most of the scouts were just sitting anywhere there was room but Makoto was sitting on Ryoga's lap on the trunk at the end of the bed, and the other new comer, Justin was just sitting cross-legged in the air over an empty spot. "What is this supposed to be an all girls club?" asked Ryoga with a grin. "Well you'd look kinda funny in a sailor suit," laughed Artemis. "Has anyone heard from Ranma recently?" asked Hotaru in a small voice. "He told me that there was a problem with Mamoru and that he'd have to take care of it and it would probably take a while," said Luna. "There's something wrong with Mamo-chan?" asked Usagi. "I can help him, I can use the crystal," she said firmly. "When did you learn how to use that crystal?" asked Ryoga. "Ranma showed me last night and he was right, I'm a lot less clumsy now that I know how to use it." "I'd be careful with that knowledge. I don't know a whole lot about the crystal, but I do know that it take more than one training session to learn how to control it completely," warned Ryoga. "Well since we changed subjects I was thinking about telling my mom that I'm Mercury," said Ami. "Why?" asked Rai. Everyone turned to look at Ami. "Well, a couple of times she came in and I was gone and she's been getting worried about me. So I thought that I'd tell her and then she'd know that I'm not sneaking out to go party." Just then they were interrupted by Ms. Tsukino's scream from downstairs. Usagi surprised everyone by jumping to the door and running down the stairs. The others jumped up and followed, except Justin who just teleported down to the living room. The entire living room was on fire when they all rushed downstairs. Ami and Michuru started to transform to put out the fires when Usagi surprised everyone yet again by grabbing her locket and holding the other hand palm out toward the fire. For a moment the fire continued to rage and them with a curious hiccup it reversed itself and went out. "H-how did you do that?" asked an awed Shingo. "And can you teach me how to do it?" "What in the world happened?" asked Ryoga who was still looking about the room like he expected monsters to pop out from behind the drapes and from under the couch, of course with the Sailor Scouts and a Neriman involved weirder things had happened. "I was standing here doing the ironing and heard glass breaking behind me and when I turned to look there was glass laying everywhere and the fire had started." "I think that I know what happened here," said Justin walking back into the house with a note in his hands. He handed it to Ryoga who read aloud. Let this be a lesson for all those that would oppose the true Prince of Darkness in the name of any planet!! So the time shall be at hand that Darkness shall reign forever!! "I think that this group of whackos are more dangerous than we thought," said Justin. "Yeah and if they know who Usagi is then they might know the others too!" yelled Artemis. "Take it easy, they left this note that specifies that this warning is to the Scouts so I don't think that they were being attacked today, but I think that we should get everyone together and take a little trip to the temple," said Ryoga, however the faint glow around him was at odds with his clam statement. Just under an hour later the scouts, Ryoga, Justin, the Tsukino, and the parents of the scouts had all gathered at the temple. "Whats the emergency?" asked Dr. Mizuno rushing in the gate. "That's what I'd like to know," said Mr. Aino looking around at the people present. "I think I'd better start this. My name is Ryoga Hibiki and your daughters have something that they want to tell you. I suggest that you listen carefully to what they have to say," said Ryoga gesturing to the girls that had gathered to one side. In a burst of multicolored light nine girls transformed into the Sailor Scouts and the parents had their mouths hanging open. "How did this happen?" asked Ms. Aino in a stunned voice. "When did this happen?" asked Mr. Aino. "Why are you showing us now?" asked Dr. Mizuno. When the other parents just looked at her she continued, "Its obvious from listening to the news that they've been doing this for two years at least, and now all of a sudden they decided to tell us whats going on. There has to be a reason," she said confidently and turned back to the people up front. "Yes there is a reason. There is a group of crazies, for lack of a better term, that have decided that the Sailor Scouts are an evil thing, or maybe that's a good thing," Ryoga trailed off and then shook his head. "Anyway they've decided that the Scouts have to go. They started off by trying to kill Sailor Moon here and have since tried to fire bomb her house, which tells us that the girls haven't been as careful as they could have and that these crazies may also know where the rest of you live. My personal suggestion is that you move, preferable to someplace that they can't get to, but failing that I suggest that you allow those of us that can to protect your houses and yourselves." Mr. Aino finally pulled himself together, "Who are you and why are you speaking for the girls?" "My name is Ryoga Hibiki and the reason that I'm speaking for the girls is that part of me has survived since the last time that the Sailor Scouts walked the worlds. Also while this is a nice chat I would like to remind you that the people that attack the Tsukinos' house are still out there and most likely know where this place is. Would you mind terribly if I suggested that we go somewhere else that we can be relatively sure that no one is going to drop in on us?" "How long is this trip?" asked Grandpa Hino. "Oh it won't take long at all," his granddaughter assured him. After everyone agreed all but Pluto and Saturn gathered in a group and Ryoga took them through the Atlantis Gate, right into Dragon Tower. "Good afternoon," called Star from his perch draped over one end of a table in the living room with a massive tome in front of him. "AHH," yelled Ms. Aino and promptly fainted due to one shock too many. "Oops," said Ryoga catching her as she fell. He then carried her over to the couch and laid her down. Then looking back at Star, "Where is Ranma? Luna said that he and Mamoru were busy, but I didn't expect it to take vary long." "You know him he just said he'd be done when he resurfaced," responded the dragon. "You talk too much lizard," said Ranma from the door. He was wearing just a large robe and looked like he really hadn't gotten a lot of sleep. "Hello," said Dr. Mizuno conversationally. "Good afternoon Dr. Mizuno," he replied. "How did you know my name?" "Well I know who you are because of your daughter, also your still wearing your hospital name tag," pointed out Ranma. "So what brings the Sailor Scouts and their parents to my door?" "That same group of whackos fire bombed the Tsukino house today," said Justin, speaking up for the first time since going to the temple. "That's all we needed. Well the first thing is that I'll extend an invitation to move into my fair city here, the second is that if you feel you can't move we need to fortify your home against attack." "What do you mean move to this city, what makes this one safer then any other?" asked Mr. Aino. "Mr. Aino, this city is completely under my control, right know other then us there isn't another person in this city. The other reason is that this city is sitting on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean. By the way welcome to the lost city of Atlantis." *** "Mr. York, your children are here," announced James York's secretary through the intercom. "Send them in please," he responded. Turning his chair from looking out the windows in his office he focused on the door. Two teenagers walked in the door, a boy and a girl. The boy had brown hair, brown eyes, and a medium build. The girl had black hair, green eyes, and had a figure other women had killed themselves on diets for. "Hi dad," called the boy, Richard. "How are you daddy?" asked the girl, Jennifer. "Hello, I'm doing very well thank you and how are you doing?" "We're both fine," responded his daughter. "I needed to ask you two a question or two, well that and I was wondering if you would be willing to take a little trip with me," said James with a smile. "What questions?" asked Rich. "And what was the trip?" asked Jennifer, right behind him. "The trip was to Japan for starters. I'm not really sure where we'd end up, but I think it would be fun. However I'd have to warn you that it would be a working trip for your mother and me some of the time at least. The questions have to do with something that I just discovered about our family. Have either of you two been having any strange dreams recently?" "Uh what do you mean strange?" asked Jenny. "I mean like something weirder than what happens in a normal dream happens, you see people that you think you should know, or just any dream that you think feels weird," elaborated James. *I hope that they're not having them or that Ranma can fix this!* "Well I now that you mention it I've had some dreams about a guy that has black hair, storm blue eyes, and is standing in a huge city with impossibly tall buildings," answered Jenny, with a small blush. "And I've had dreams about a red headed girl with the same storm blue eyes, and she's uhh...," trailed off Rich. "Healthy," supplied James, remembering a picture that he had seen after Ranma had moved his mother into the palace. "Yeah that's it," blushed Rich. *And I hope that he doesn't ask if I've had any other dreams about him/her,* they both thought. "Ok then I think that you both should come with us to Japan for a while," finished James. *** It had been a late night before everyone had had a say in what was going to happen after they were done. Priority had been given to getting the moon reestablished for use, hwever most of the scouts were still going to stay on earth, but they were going to let Ranma create a security system for them. Dr. Mizuno was wondering around Dragon Tower early the next morning when she walked into a dojo. There was training equipment all over the place as she walked in, but what caught her eye was the young woman standing in the middle of the room. The red head was working sword forms with a massive great sword that had to weigh as much as she did, but it was whistling around her like it was light as a feather. "Can I help you with something?" asked a voice behind her. "Ah, sorry you startled me. Yes, I was wondering who that was," responded Dr. Mizuno turning to see Fire floating in the air with her wings laying over her back. "Ranma, you have company," called Fire just as the red head brought her work to a close. "Huh?" asked Ranma-chan turning around. "Dr. Mizuno," she greeted her with a nod. "Are you some relation to the Ranma that owns this tower?" asked the doctor. "Something like that," laughed Ranma-chan. "I was just about to go and make breakfast, would you like to join me in the kitchen for some conversation?" "If you wouldn't mind, I would even like to help." "Only if you want to, you're our guest," protested Ranma-chan. "I would love to help," she assured her. "Well then, lets go." The two of them moved into the kitchen where they found Nodoka already working on breakfast. "Mom, I can get that," protested Ranma-chan. "Good morning, and there's no need I don't have any problem with cooking, you know that," Nodoka countered. "I know, but you're a guest. I should be doing this for you." "Morning," called Ryoga, walking into the kitchen. "Where in the world did you put the dojo this morning? Even 'never fail Longclaw' here couldn't find it this morning." "Oh, sorry. I moved it just down the hall from my room so I didn't wake anyone up this morning while I was still running into things," apologized Ranma-chan. "So how did your night go last night?" "It went fine, that pressure point that you showed Longclaw worked perfectly on Dr. Tofu and he was able to make it through the entire evening without fogging over his glasses once," said Ryoga. One by one everyone dropped in and acquired a cup of coffee or tea and then sat around talking until Ranma-chan, Dr. Mizuno, and Nodoka finished breakfast then they moved to the table. "I wish that young man Ranma was here so I could ask him a question or two," said Mr. Aino. All the parents' eyes popped, as Ranma-chan became Ranma between one sip of tea and another. "You may ask when ready," Ranma assured him with a small smile. The scouts had busted up laughing at the look on their parents' faces. "You knew," Mr. Aino accused his daughter as she was laughing. "We all knew," admitted Ami as the scouts gathered themselves back together. "Did you still have questions or has the urge to strangle your daughter distracted you sufficiently?" asked Ranma. "Close but not quite. The first is why didn't those other two scouts want to come here? I thought you were all on the same side." "The reason that they chose not to come is their reason, you'll have to get it from them," said Ranma in a quiet voice. "As for the other, yes we are all on the same team, but as with any team we have a certain amount of friction. Sometimes, as I wasn't part of the group until recently, I tend to cause the most," finished Ranma. "Fair enough. The next question is for Mr. and Ms. Tsukino. How long have you known what was going on?" "Usagi got badly injured in one of their fights and the others showed up and told us everything," said Mr. Tsukino. "What happened to me?" asked Mamoru from the doorway. He was covered in scratches and looked like hell. "You don't remember?" asked Ranma with a lifted eyebrow. "Would I be asking if I did?" shot back Mamour. "That depends. However I'm going to assume that you don't remember and I think that you'd like to have this conversation sometime when there are fewer people listening in." Usagi ran over and Mamoru grabbed her in a big huge and fell over into one of the chairs. "Speaking of us other people I was wondering just how I'm supposed to get to work today?" asked Dr. Mizuno. "Yeah and my wife and me need to get to work also," said Mr. Aino. "And the kids should probably get to school soon," finished Ms. Aino. "Ok I'll send everyone on their way in just a minute. I wanted to make sure that everyone knew that they shouldn't go home until I've had a chance to look everything over. Also be sure to carry these with you everywhere," said Ranma passing out small silver dragon tokens. "If you get into trouble then touch the token and think of calling me for help and I'll hear you. I'll see you all later." With that they gate surged open and swallowed everyone but Ranma and the dragons. "I'm going to do some work on the Time Gate, preferably without Setsuna finding out about it," Ranma told the dragons as he headed off toward his study. "We'll be here if you need us," Star assured him. The dragon was laying on the table still working on the tome that he had been reading when the guest had dropped by. *** "What is the matter little one?" asked Cologne. She was looking at Saturn who had shown up a short time after Shampoo had left for school. "I'm just not feeling like myself since Ranma..." she trailed off before she finished. "Since Ranma what?" asked a concerned Cologne moving over to where Saturn was sitting at the table. "Nothing," Saturn assured her. "Well then perhaps you can tell me about the rumors that there are people out there trying to kill the Sailor Scouts and whether or not your in danger." "Its true but I don't think that I have anything to worry about, so far they've only attacked Sailor Moon and I think that I can take care of myself." "I-," Cologne cut off suddenly and started looking around. "Is something wrong?" asked Saturn. "I thought I felt the presence of magic that I hadn't felt in a very long time." "You did," a voice from behind assured her. That was the last thing she heard as something that felt like Ranma using a sledgehammer hit her in the back of the head sending her spiraling into unconsciousness. Saturn had just enough time to turn around before something slammed into the side of her face and everything went dark. *** *This is just one of those days,* thought Setsuna as she sat on behind her desk looking at the report in front of her. The report was a missing persons form for one Ranko Atlantis. * I can see the scenario now. "Yes, officer I know where she is. She couldn't decide whom she wanted to marry between Hotaru Tomoe and myself so she is hiding. Oh and she also happens to be Ranma Atlantis the Silver Dragon.",* Setsuna thought to herself. She noticed another one of those flickers that the Time Gate had been giving off today and never realized that something was wrong before she was knocked unconscious. *** The math teacher, the one from Juuban, was starting to get upset Ryoga noted as Kuno interrupted class by barging in to 'allow Akane a date with him' for the third time. "What is it this time?" demanded the teacher as the door slammed open for the fourth time. "Ryoga we have to talk," said Cologne from the door. "There is a big problem." After a moment hesitation as she looked toward Setsuna's office she continued, "And I think that it just got worse." "What kind of problem?" asked Ryoga as he got up and looked at the teacher for permission to leave the room. The teacher tossed the caulk over her shoulder with a helpless look on her face and waved him toward the door. Once outside the room Cologne continued, "A short time ago Her Majesty was sitting in the Nekohanten with me and I felt something that I've not encountered in over a hundred years, Chinese black magic. Not what I use but true Black Magic with capital letters," finished Cologne in a tone of dread. "Also I noticed traces of it over that way," she continued, then stopped as she realized that she was pointing through a cloud of dust left by Ryoga running off." She hurried over towards the area that she had felt it. Just before she made it to the door, she stopped, because with her surroundings had changed. Now she was standing in a room that looked to be the size of some apartments in Japan and was furnished in a style that didn't have any corners to it. The second thing that she noticed was that she wasn't alone. "What is the meaning of this?" asked Dr. Mizuno. She was wearing a set of white doctors operating uniform, obviously used. The others were all standing around the room in strange positions that were based on items that they were no longer in contact with. "I thought you were done," said Ryoga. "Besides I've brought all of you here because two of the scouts have been kidnapped." Gasps ran around the room as the parents all checked to make sure that their daughters were present. They all found them except for Michuru and Haruka. "FIRE!" yelled Ryoga. Everyone jumped up and looked around before realizing that he was calling someone rather than announcing fire. "Well hello everyone," said Fire happily as she flew into the living room. "Where is Ranma?" "He's in his study, why?" asked Fire. "Could you get him from me? Its important." As soon as the dragon left everyone started asking questions, but Ryoga quieted them with a raised hand. "What the matter?" asked Ranma running into the room with the two dragons flapping along behind. "Saturn and Pluto have been kidnapped!" rushed out Usagi. "We have to get them back," insisted Michuru. "Hold on how in the world did anyone capture those two?" asked Ranma looking around. "That's what I was telling Ryoga here. I've been sensing true Chinese black magic all day, starting just before someone knocked me out and captured Her Majesty Sailor Saturn," explained Cologne. "The thing I've been trying to figure out is how they snuck up on Pluto, the Time Gate should have warned her that she was in danger," insisted Ryoga aloud. *The Time Gate. This is my fault,* thought Ranma hanging his head. *I should have been there.* "I'm going to get them back, I promise," he said transforming in to his gi and cape. *Black magic or no, I should be able to follow the trail of their energy. Ah, there it is and its leading that a way.* Ranma vanished leaving a thunderclap as air rushed in to fill the hole that he had just vacated. "Where did he go?" asked Mr. Aino. "To get Pluto and Saturn I would imagine," said Ryoga. "Even So-Ranma would need help to accomplish such a thing if they really are using Chinese black magic," whispered Cologne. "Watch," was Ryoga's only comment as he turned to the wall and gestured at the floor to ceiling window. The window turned white for a moment and then cleared to show Ranma outside a stone stronghold. His battle aura was glowing blue and green around him and the silver sparks shooting through it were linked with arcs of lighting and a wind that didn't touch anything around him was blowing his cape out and ruffling his hair, but the scariest thing that most of them noticed was the look on his face. Cold eyes stared out of a face that would have made Death and Destruction run away and hide. The Scouts and Longclaw had seen that look before and realized what it meant, the parents were visibly shaken, and Cologne prayed that such a look would never be turned against her people. "That's in china near our tribe," said Cologne slowly as if the words were dragged out of her. Ranma advanced across the open ground toward the stronghold. Creatures from the nightmare of Hell came to meet him only to be blasted away with a wave of his hand. He walked to the massive doors of the entrance and with a flick of his hand unleashed a blast of magic that tore them to pieces. Amazon warriors and people in samurai garb charged out of the building with weapons ready for anything. Ready for anything other than the Silver Dragon in a rage. Ranma's battle aura formed into a giant cat that covered his body and in a cold rage carved his way through the people between him and his goal. All the people in Dragon Tower could do was watch as the fury of the Silver Dragon, both ki and magic raged through the courtyard of the stronghold. *** Ryoga directed the communication globe away from the maelstrom of deadly energy and deeper in to the stronghold searching for the missing Scouts. It slipped between two doors and into the great hall where the two missing Scouts were chained side-by-side, the chains glowing a sickly green, to a massive alter that had been carved with runes that glowed with the same green light as the chains. They were both conscious and seemed to be losing strength. A ring of kneeling people in black robes surrounded them while a podium at the head of the table held a heavy black bound book. Two figures were not in the ring and they were arguing. "You said that your people could stop this boy and give us time to perform the ritual," accused the taller figure, a man's voice. "We had no idea that he had become so powerful in so short a time. The scouts we knew were dangerous so we took every precaution against them getting away, but for a mere male to have obtained such power is impossible," responded the smaller figure in tones of disbelief, a woman's voice. "Gerard," called the taller figure. One of the people in the ring ran over to him. "Get everyone out of here. We don't have time to finish the ritual, we will just have to kill them and settle for the others." As the ring broke up and ran out of the room the tall figure pulled an obsidian dagger from his robes and moved toward the two Scouts. Before he could do anything the doors to the room exploded into splinters flying across the room, but no touched the table nor the Scouts on it. "Did I come at a bad time?" asked Ranma walking through the shattered door, his battle aura still flaring around him. Magic raced up and down his arms begging to be released. "How could you side with these people?" demanded the tall figure, gesturing at the two women on the table. "With the power that you already possess the gift of the Prince of Darkness would make you invincible. Join us and you will have everything that you could wish." "You would make a deal with this person that has sided with your enemies?" asked the woman in black. "It really doesn't matter because you've done the two things that would forever turn me against you. You tried to kill my Princess and harmed the two women that I love more then life itself," countered Ranma in a voice full of emotion. "Then die!" shouted the tall figure. He lifted his hands with his wrists together and a beam of energy shot toward Ranma. Ranma held up one hand with the first two fingers up and the thumb curled across the other two and countered with a beam of this own that had three strands woven through it. One was the blue and green of his ki, the second the silver of his magic, and the golden one the raw energy of the sun. The silver slashed through the opposing beam, the golden one burned away his shielding, and the ki blasted into him and hurled him across the room into the wall hard enough to spider crack it. The woman started chanting rapidly and moving her hands in a spell. "Ranma look out!" shouted Cologne. "That spell combines the power of several fighters together!" The woman threw aside her robe to reveal that is was Brush the Amazon elder wrapped in a black and blood red aura. "No male, a boy at that, can defeat me the true fighting master of the Amazons!" she screamed as she launched herself at him. She was moving with enough speed that even Cologne couldn't follow her movements. Ranma dodged at a like speed and the two fighters blended together in streaks of green, blue, black, and red. This continued for several minutes until the red and black blur flew backwards, crashing through several walls in the process. Ranma ran over to the table and sliced through the chains with a sword of silver fire. He let the sword dissipate and grabbed both the girls in a huge and started to cry. The girls grabbed on to him and didn't look like they were going to let go anytime soon. "I haven't been defeated yet, boy," snarled the man in the black robe. He stood up with obvious difficulty. The left side of his body burned, the right leg broken, and covered in blood from his last encounter with Ranma. "I intend for this to be a lesson to all of those that would harm those that the Silver Dragon holds dear," said Ranma in a ringing voice. A dome of energy sprang up around him and he closed his eyes and for a second nothing happened. Just as the man started to declare his triumph everything outside of the dome was engulfed in silver fire and when it cleared the three people were standing on an empty hill top that has the kanji for vengeance burned into it. "Are you two ok?" Ranma asks the two girls, looking back and forth between them. "Yes I'm fine," answered Setsuna. "Do you really love me?" "I'm great," said Hotaru at the same time. "Did you mean it when you said that you loved me?" "Yes to both of you, so you see why you deserve someone better," he responded. "Well Ranma Atlantis, I love you and I'll never give you up and Setsuna isn't a concern is it, Setsuna?" grinned Hotaru as Setsuna pulled back from Ranma. "Well, Ranma you see, I don't love you," stated Setsuna. Hotaru pulled back from Ranma to give him some room, because this statement causes Ranma to nearly collapse. "However Draco Atlantis I will love you until the day that I die," she proclaimed as she wrapped her arms around his left side. "So Ranma Atlantis is all mine," yelled Hotaru happily as she hugged him on the right side. "Well that's it we are going to have one ^big^ party!" yelled Ryoga from the tower.*** TO BE CONTINUED I thought that this would be a good place to end this part of the story.
