Chocolate led the rest of the sorcerer hunters down into the pyramid. The pyramid was ancient, but it didn't seem old. There was no dust, no signs of decay; but then again there was no life either. "How strange. It is like nothing I have ever seen." Marron commented.
"That goes double for me." Gateau added. Carrot stopped to look at a statue of an Egyptian god. Wondering what would happen if he touched it, he reached his hand out to its head, and just then the eyes began to glow.
"Carrot, what did you do?" Tira asked him. Her hands became fists. Carrot jumped back.
"Nothing. I didn't touch it."
"You did something…"
Then the statue spoke. "Who dare enters the tomb of our master? All who go beyond this point shall die."
Carrot gulped. "Die? Well, that's a good enough warning for me. Let's go."
Tira grabbed the strap of his shirt and pulled him back. "You aren't going anywhere." Then the walls began to shake.
Back a little further from the group, Inaho lost her balance when the walls began shaking and promptly fell over. Mosquiton sighed. "How did you get to be so clumsy?"
"Shut up and help me up." She growled at him. Honoo lit the way with his elemental fire magic and soon spotted the other group before him.
"I think we found them, Mama Inaho."
"Oh no. We're too close. They see us." Yuki replied standing behind Honoo and staring at the Hunters
"I won't let them get the O-part. The O-part is mine!" Inaho, now standing, rolled her sleeves past her elbows and marched to the other group, ignoring that the walls and ground were still shaking beneath her making her march less than intimidating. She walked right up to Carrot and withdrew her gun. "The O-part is mine, get back!"
"AAAHHH! There's a crazy woman with a gun!" Carrot covered his head with his arms. Chocolate drew her garrote. Marron held an ofuda.
"The O-part is not yours. It is part of the forbidden magic that we must seal away." Tira explained to the red haired girl with the gun. "We will not let you have it."
"The O-part is mine! Give it to me." Inaho insisted.
"Lady, I don't know what kind of crack you are on, but we don’t' have it." Gateau said. He stepped forward and Inaho was about ready to pull the trigger when Chocolate whipped her garrote at her. Inaho screamed but was not hit. Mosquiton had appeared out of the darkness and stood in front of her.
"Oh no!" Chocolate cried out when she saw the tall figure quickly get in front of the girl. Then he was hunched over, clutching his chest. "Who…?"
"Mosqui!" Inaho knelt beside him. "Are you okay?"
Mosqui made exaggerated pain noises like he was going to die, alerting Inaho that he was fooling. She hit him. "Knock it off. I know you are okay. Stupid vampire, I could kill you for doing that to me."
Marron voiced the word that he heard the kill call her savior. "Vampire." There had not been vampires on the Spooner Continent for many years, and none that he had heard of that thought of human beings as anything but a snack. Still, this vampire seemed to be under the control of this woman. How strange. He addressed Inaho. "Why is obtaining this O-part so important to you?"
"That's none of your business!"
Tira's voice became lower. "Anything that has to do with magic on the Spooner Continent is our business. We are the Sorcerer Hunters."
"I am not a sorcerer."
"Obviously." Gateau remarked.
"I'm just a seventeen year old girl."
"That hangs around with a vampire?"
Yuki piped up, "And two elemental demons, don't forget!"
"This is very strange." Carrot admitted.
In another tomb, Ribeye held the O-part in his hand and beamed widely. "Like hell you are getting the O-part. Now that I have it I will be immortal as the magic promised. HE held it high above his head and cackled loudly. When the ground began shaking he dropped the O-part, but caught it again in mid air. "Dammit, who has disturbed the gods of this pyramid. He looked into a shiny jewel embedded into the wall. "Show me what lies beyond this door." Ribeye's magic was strong, but not strong enough to see entire forms. HE could only see their stomachs and what they had for lunch that day. "There are many of them. One had soup, one had meatloaf. One had…he has nothing in his stomach. Not even bile. Is he even alive?" The images disappeared. "I must get a kitchen to cook my secret weapon…" He reached into his pockets and pulled out an apron that read 'Kiss the Cook'. It was covered in flour and seasoning. He put on his big puffy chef's hat and marched to the kitchen.
The group continued arguing until a delicious aroma invaded the air. Chocolate was about to tell Inaho how misguided she was when she caught a whiff of something absolutely delicious. "Hmmm, is that steak?"
"Yes, sister, I think it is…" Tira said. She turned her nose up in the air and breathed in deeply. "IT is! Oooh, steak." Like zombies, everyone turned to where the smell was coming from and followed it. The immortal ones stared stupidly at them.
"What is going on? It doesn’t smell that great." Honoo remarked. "Mama Camille made much better stuff."
"Honoo, Yuki, come on, let's follow them." Mosquiton followed after the entranced people.
"Yes, master." They said in unison.
Ribeye smiled as the group came to him and his table of delights. "Come, eat all you want, then eat some more. Then eat more! Ha ha ha…you will all die of gluttony!" Helpless to break the spell, the sorcerer hunters and Inaho sat at the table and ate, ate, ate.
"This is all so wonderful. It is delicious. I can't stop eating it." Chocolate said.
"What kind of spell is this?" Marron asked while taking a bite of pie. "I am powerless to stop from eating."
"That's right, Sorcerer Hunters! Eat! Eat until you explode!" Ribeye chanted.
"Ribeye, you fool, give me the O-part now." Ribeye turned his head towards the voice. It was his employer's right hand man with a horse's body. "Did you think you could get away with keeping it from us." The man walked in and the sorcerer hunters looked up. None of them could stop eating enough to do anything else
"St. German, I have the O-part now and I refuse to give it to the likes of you. I will have immortality. There is nothing you can do to stop me." Ribeye pulled the O-part out of the front pocket of his apron. A few packets of soy sauce fell out with it.
"You underestimate me. I have lived centuries and I can break a spell such as yours easily." He waved his hand and soon everyone stopped eating. Carrot fell to the ground clutching his stomach. "Oh, god, I think I am going to puke."
Then Mosquiton came in. "St. German."
"Mosquiton, we meet again. Oh how you annoy me."
"The O-part!" Inaho tried to stand up from the table, but was too full to move very quickly. She undid the top button of her pants and let her stomach hand over. "There. That's better. Now give me the O-part you, you beast!"
"That's original, Inaho." Mosquiton said.
"Mosqui, how dare you talk back to me! Need I remind you who gave you life, you Mosquito?"
"Enough of this bickering. " St. German announced. "I will kill you all now!" St. German's arm reached out way past normal proportions and grabbed Inaho by the throat. Marron tossed an ofuda at him. The ofuda exploded in St. German's arm, knocking the limb from the elbow as the hand still remained grasping Inaho's neck. Inaho screamed loudly and tried to pull the rotted thing off.
Ribeye went back into his kitchen and pulled out a bucket of chicken wings with spikes sticking out of the sides. He threw the chicken wings like darts at the sorcerer hunters. Carrot grabbed Inaho while dodging out of the way. "Here, have my extra crispy recipe!" Ribeye threw more spiked chicken wings at the sorcerer hunters who were hiding behind the table. Yuki, Honoo and Mosquiton soon joined them.
"What's with this crazy sorcerer?" Chocolate demanded.
"Yeah, wasting good chicken like that." Carrot added.
"Darling, that is not what I meant. I don’t' believe you sometimes."
Mosquiton ordered his elementals. "Honoo, Yuki, make yourself useful."
"Yes, Mosquiton." Yuki said. She stood up and suddenly she became an adult with flowing ice blue hair and eyes to match. Carrot cried out, "Hubba hubba" which got a good punch in the face from Chocolate. Yuki sent an ice stream from her fingers, freezing Ribeye and the O-part with him. St. German looked at his frozen minion and then broke the O-part out of the ice. HE took off for the door.
"Get him! He has the O-part!" Inaho pointed and yelled. Chocolate and Gateau were soon on their feet and after St. German. St. German went for the doorway just to run into Mosquiton.
"Mosquiton, I will take you down here and now." St. German hissed. Inaho threw herself in front of Mosquiton and screamed at St. German.
"You will do nothing to him." She insisted.
Tira reached out to grab Inaho, but Mosquiton pulled her to him. With one swift move he ripped open the neck of her shirt. Inaho was startled. "Mosquiton, no, don't."
"I have to, Inaho. If I don't he'll kill you along with me, and I can't have that." Mosquiton showed his fangs and then plummeted them into her neck.
Tira reached out once again to Inaho but Yuki held her back. "No, Tira. This must be done. Only in his true form will he be able to stop St. German."
Marron watched in fascination as Mosquiton drank form Inaho's neck. She was no longer struggling and seemed to actually be taking pleasure in the act. Marron held back the urge to stop it. Something told him that this had to be done and that Inaho would be all right. He looked up at Gateau who had a twisted expression on his face.
Then Mosquiton looked up with blood-red eyes. Inaho's lifeless body fell to the ground and Mosquiton stood before St. German. St. German seemed unimpressed. "Even in your true form I can kill you. I did it before and I will do it again."
"Let's see if you can back up those words." Mosquiton remarked. He jumped up in the air and abruptly his shadow turned into a sai. Grasping it in both hands, Mosquiton cut St. German's arm off-the arm that held the O-part.
"Get it!" Chocolate shrieked at Carrot.
Carrot held as little area as he could between the O-part and his index finger and thumb. "Ewwww."
St. German grabbed his sword and aimed for Mosquito's heart, missing completely. Mosquiton aimed the sai again at one of St. German's horse legs, cutting it off. The action caused St. German to fall over. Mosquiton laughed. "You've got a bad leg. We'll have to take you out back to be shot."
St. German returned to his human form and took off. "You have won the battle, but not the war!" HE disappeared down the hall.
Inaho regained consciousness and looked up at Mosqui with pride and love. Yuki and Honoo bowed down before their master and the sorcerer hunters themselves could not contain the looks of awe on their faces. Inaho laughed and held her neck. "Mosqui, that was great! " She mistakenly ran up to him.
Inaho looked at Mosquiton's face. Blood dripped down his eyes and he looked at her with hunger. She suddenly remembered why she never allowed him to drink her blood. He walked towards her. "Woman, you cannot escape me. This time I will have you. Your blood gave me life and now it will give me power! ARGGGHHHHH!" Took huge steps towards her.
Inaho screamed and grabbed her neck. "NOOOOO! NOOOOOOO!!!!!" She tried backing away but tripped and fell.
Mosquiton grabbed her loose arm and pulled her to him. He smiled, showing her his blood-dripping fangs. He ripped her other arm off her neck. "Mosquiton, don’t! No!!"
As he descended downward she screamed, but soon his screams outshouted her own. She opened her eyes to him and then looked down at his chest. A stake had been driven thru and he clutched it in a futile attempt to pull it out. Immediately Mosquiton turned to dust in front of Inaho. Inaho looked across form her to see that Chocolate was at the other end of the stake.
She bent down to the ashes. "Oh no, Mosqui…" She looked angrily up at Chocolate. "Why did you do that? You killed him!" She stood up and clutched her fists. "Mosqui is mine, only I can kill him."
Chocolate was taken aback by Inaho's reaction. "He tried to kill you. He was all prepared to suck out every drop of your blood. Are you insane?" then she turned to Yuki and Honoo who had gone back to their childlike forms. "Why didn't you do anything?"
"Mosquiton is our master. We don't care what happens to Mama Inaho." Yuki said.
"He almost got her this time. Dammit." Honoo cursed.
Inaho ignored the elementals' comments and took her knife out of her pocket. She pricked her thumb with the point and held the wound over Mosquiton's ashes. "With this blood I master thee." She whispered. The blood fell from her thumb and the ashes scattered. Thru the dust of ash, Mosquiton's form was alive again. He opened his eyes and sat up.
Inaho bitch slapped him. "Ow! Inaho!"
"You bit me again. It took forever for the last two to heal and you bit me again. You undead bastard!" Tears swarmed her eyes. "How could you be so cruel? You wanted to eat me!"
"Inaho, I had to. In the form I was in I had no possible way of defeating St. German. You know that."
"You jerk! Is that all I am to you? A light beverage with genuine draft?"
"Inaho, you know that isn't true."
"WAHHHHHH!!!!!!!"
"Inaho…" He put his hand on her shoulder and she shrugged it off. Glaring at him she walked away, thru the crowd of sorcerer hunters.
Gateau looked at Marron quizzically. 'What just happened here?"
"I really don't know, Gateau."
