Okay, damn Purists, cut me some slack. I've never actually seen GT, but I do know what happens. I know, it's not the same thing as actually watching it, so I'm positive scenery, timing, and just about everything is wrong, but since this is an AU of what happened in GT anyway, that doesn't really matter, does it?
I'm gonna change one scene I already know is gonna kill me. Consider this my way of dealing with it, and I would not even bother with this, since I consider my incredibly long AU from hell to be my way of dealing with GT, but one day when I was listening to Michelle Branch's "All you wanted," the damn song, the lyrics...for some reason, they screamed the relationship Piccolo and Gohan shared all throughout Dragonball Z. It's hard for me to explain why unless you have already picked up on just how close they are and the irony surrounding them.
They started out with Gohan wanting to be just like Piccolo, because he admired him...but before long, I swear, that look in Piccolo's eyes is something akin to him admiring, and wanting to be more like Gohan. ::sigh:: Or maybe I just read too much into things. Either way, most people are gonna wanna skip this, and I suck at writing anyway, so since I suck so much, why the fuck are you reading this?! Good, now that we have settled, if all you have planned to say is that I write junk, leave and give it a rest, otherwise people are gonna wonder why you keep reading my stuff when you hate it so much. >D!
Ack...warnings...geez...it's the idiotic Neko-chan, what kind of warning do you think you will be facing. Shounen-ai! Go figure! And angst. O.o Oh boy...not even good, well written angst. You have been warned.
Lyrics from Michelle Branch's "All you wanted:"
"I wanted to be like you,
I wanted everything.
So I tried to be like you,
And I got swept away.
I didn't know that it was so cold,
And you needed someone to show you the way.
So I took your hand, and we figured out that,
When the time comes, I'll take you away.
I'm sinking slowly, so hurry hold me
Your hand is all I have to keep me hangin' on.
All you wanted was somebody who cares
If you need me, you know I'll be there.
If you want to
I can save you
I can take you away from here
So lonely inside
So busy out there
And all you wanted was somebody who cares.
Please can you tell me, so I can finally see,
Where you go when you're gone."

Jaded Passion
(Started: 8-16-2)
Gathered with the others from Earth, Gohan looked around at the many people surrounding him. By his side, his daughter and his beautiful wife, but his heart still claimed there was something that was missing.
It's sad but true, what they say; you never miss it until it's gone.
He tried for a couple of minutes to let it register, why he felt so lost, so alone, like a part of him was forever smashed. And then, like a magnet, he was drawn to the doomed Earth.
Piccolo was determined to do as he deemed right, he knew that, but to Gohan, it was all wrong.
So many memories flashed before his eyes, as though it was him that was dying instead. Piccolo had saved him from the little wimp he had been, gave him a chance be something more, and he had just torn that teacher to pieces, left him in ribbons drifting from life on a planet that was close to disintegrating in the universe's vast space.
Was that it?
Was this all that life had left?
Was this how everything was just supposed to end?
He was expected to stand and there watch?
"No...." Gohan softly spoke to himself, knowing what his heart was demanding.
Piccolo could deny the truth all he wanted, but if the Namek-sei-jin felt so far gone, felt that there was nothing left living for that he would insist on this, Gohan would prove him wrong.
Quickly, the Saiya-jin grabbed for Kaiobit. Perhaps his father would have better understood the situation, but it was hardly lost on the guardian of the universe. One look at Gohan's fevered eyes gave him away. Just like when Goku had forced KaioShin to back down and let him fight Vegeta, it was that same indomitable look. He needed to accomplish something, he had to, and there was nothing in the universe that could stop him.
"Take me back to the Earth!"
"Gohan-san, I don't think there's time...."
"Do it! Kaiobit, I have to go back!"
"Why?"
Gohan stopped for a moment, trying to word himself, then he stopped thinking and let his heart do the talking, "I forgot one of the most important things in my life, and I left it back there, like it was nothing to me."
Those words rang familiar to Kaiobit, so he simply asked, "Where?"
"Where Piccolo is."
They phased back onto the Earth, and Gohan rushed, everything in his mind going silent as he grabbed Piccolo's hand, to have the warrior growl at him, "What the hell are you doing?!"
"What does it look like I'm doing?" Gohan pleaded with his eyes, hoping the Namek-sei-jin would listen to him. "You can't do this. You can't."
"The Earth is running out of time. Get out of here, now! Gohan; you have a wife; you have Pan; you have a life. I don't have those things."
"That's not true! We need you!"
Piccolo scoffed at him, "No, you don't."
"You have Dende!"
"Quit being silly, and go back!" he screamed at Gohan's efforts, pushing him away, glaring at Kaiobit and shouting at him telepathically to get Gohan back on the pseudo-Earth Babi had created.
Still fighting with the wind, his mind, and Piccolo himself, Gohan grabbed Piccolo's arm, wrapping around it, whispering, "I need you. You have me."
"No, I don't...."
But before Piccolo could protest further, or push Gohan away again, Gohan grabbed Kaiobit's hand, and they were phased away from the planet, almost too late.
Seconds after they were gone, the planet started it's dying phase, and Gohan sighed a breathe of relief, quickly letting go of Piccolo's arm before the Namek-sei-jin could retaliate with brute force.
He knew that angered sneer, but he also knew one other thing; Piccolo would be fine in a moment or so, he always was.
Stuck in the middle, Kaiobit tried to back away from the time bomb ticking away, but he never got very far before the Namek-sei-jin made a lunge for him, yelling, "Why the hell did you do that?! Why will no one do as I...."
Piccolo's tirade ended as he watched the Earth burn in the night sky and go out with a bang.
Taking advantage of a moment, Kaiobit loosened Piccolo's grasp and hid behind Gohan who just shook his head at the taller being. "You can take care of yourself, you know."
"Not when he's that furious...."
"Piccolo, calm down, and when you start thinking straight, you will understand why I did that."
Glaring at Gohan, Piccolo shouted back, "Hardly! I think I know why you did it, but I don't understand! I cannot continue living on as I have, and you just ruined my only escape!"
Gohan's face fell at these words. Perhaps the Namek-sei-jin was not going to calm down after all. He seemed ready to attack at any given moment. "But...Piccolo...."
"But what?! Were you even thinking at all?!" Piccolo lowered his voice when he noticed the pained look overwhelming Gohan's face, but he did not stop, "I've lived my life, Gohan. Were you thinking?"
"No...that was the mistake I made before. I thought too much and complicated things, but as soon as I let my soul take control, that's when things made more sense, and I didn't have to think anymore."
Silence managed the conversation from there, moments of when Gohan was small filtering through Piccolo's mind. So many things rushed through him at once, and without another word, he turned away from the one person in the universe that understood him. The one person he would still give anything for, including his life, his death, or this preverbal slap in the face.
'You chose a route Gohan, live it,' Piccolo mentally pleaded as he vanished from site, leaving Gohan puzzled.
Looking back, Kaiobit sat on KaioShin-Kai, one thought still plaguing him. "If this is what love brings, why would anyone fall there?"
"Idiot!" Rou KaioShin muttered at him. "Like you should even be asking such! Or has fusing muddled your brain and made you forget! Idiot...." the old KaioShin kept mulling to himself as he turned away from Kaiobit, leaving the being staring into his crystal ball, watching Piccolo as he stared off at the newly renewed planet, Dende glancing at him from afar; and somewhere on the Earth, Gohan was looking up to the sky, Pan pulling his hand, Videl at his side, and his mind in a completely different time....
End (9-19-02)

Blah.... Oh well, I needed to get that out of system, whether anyone likes it or not.
And now, I feel like getting back to one of my humour/fluff pieces. May God save your souls.
