Chapter 1- "A New Threat to the Digital World"

Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon. Such a boring Disclaimer, I know.

Sunlight gleamed into the room of a young girl of brownish reddish hair and beautiful brown eyes. The girl stood in front of her mirror brushing her hair, seperating and detangling each strand from its fellow brothers and sisters. When she was satisfied with how she looked, she set her hair brush down on her desk. She looked at herself in the mirror and gave her reflection a small smile. The girl walked towards the window from which the sun was shinning through, passing a picture of herself when she was three years old with her mother holding her. She opened the window, breathed in some fresh air, and let out a peaceful sigh.

"Jeri! Takato just called! He said that he and your friends will be arriving shortly!" a strong sturdy voice yelled from outside the girl's room.

Jeri shut the window and answered, "All right dad! I'll be down in a few minutes!"

Jeri and the tamers-- minus Susie, plus Alice-- were going on a little vacation. Ryo had rented a cabin by a lake for all of them to stay in for a week. It has been four years since the D-Reaper incident and Jeri was now sixteen. A lot has happened since then. Takato and Jeri were finally together as boyfriend and girlfriend and Alice had moved to their town and became close friends with all the tamers. Jeri's father has become less strict on her and actually shows that he loves her a whole lot without stealing a van and ramming it into one of the D-Reaper agents.

Jeri reached for her bag and in the process of doing so she knocked her brush off her desk. When she bent down to pick it up she noticed that one of the boards in her wall was different in color from the other boards. She lightly tapped on it.

"It's hollow."

Jeri then tried to pry it from her bedroom wall. It was loose and came out easily. There was something inside. Jeri reached inside, her hand brushing against cobwebs and dust. She pulled out a small book. A thick layer of dust and spider webs covered the tiny book and Jeri brushed it off, finding out it was a diary. She opened the diary to the first page and figured out that it was her mother's diary.

"What's this doing here?" Jeri asked herself. She then remembered that her bedroom used to be her real mother's old study. She was about to read it until her father called her out again.

"Jeri! Your friends are here!"

Jeri shut the book and hurriedly put it into her bag. She thought, 'I'll read it when I reach the cabin.' She swung her bag on her shoulders and rushed downstairs.

"Bye dad!" Jeri said giving him a quick peck on the cheek.

"You'll be careful out there all right?"

"I'll be fine dad. Don't worry." She waved good bye to her father and walked up to the van that her friends were in.

"Hey Jeri." Takato said to his girlfriend, giving her a small kiss on the lips.

"Hi Takato." Jei smiled at him. He and Henry took her bag and placed it next to everything else in the back. After everything was hooked up they got in the van. Ryo was driving. Henry took the front seat. Rika, Alice and Jeri took the seats behind them, leaving Takato, Kazu and Kenta in the back seat.

"All right, everyone ready?" Ryo asked. Everyone called out "Yes!" "Okay then, let's get the show on the road!" Ryo started the car and they drove off to the cabin.

Jeri looked out the window to her right and watched the scenery that they were driving through. They were soon surrounded by wilderness.

"So what are we going to do while we're there?" Kenta asked his friends.

Jeri looked forwards as Ryo answered Kenta's question. "A bit of swimming, a bit of relaxing, maybe some hiking."

"That's it? Did anyone bring some sort of T.V.?" Kazu said.

Ryo turned his head to see him. "Kazu-"

Jeri saw something purple and white run in front of the van and she screamed, "LOOK OUT!!!"

Ryo turned his head back to the road and slammed his foot on the breaks, stopping inches in front of whatever darted in front of the van. Jeri quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and thrust open the van door and ran to the front of the van. What she saw surprised her.

"Impmon?! Calumon?!" She cried out and picked up Calumon and held him in her arms. The others were out of the van too and Rika picked up Impmon.

"Jeri," Calumon said weakly. Jeri hushed him. The two digimon looked very hurt. Scratches and brusies covered their bodies.

"What happened?" Takato asked, worry filling his eyes.

Impmon replied just as weakly as Calumon, "The others,"

"Quiet, save your strength Impmon." Rika told the purple digimon. "The cabin is close here. Let's take them there." Ryo said. They all agreed and went back into the van.

Impmon insisted on talking during the drive. "Guilmon and the others." He breathed in heavily and continued, "were captured."

"By who?" Henry asked.

"By a lady who calls herself the Digimon Mistress." Calumon replied in a small raspy voice. "She looks kind of like you Jeri."

"What?!" Jeri was shocked.

"She's probably one of the D-Reapers agents." Rika said.

"But we stopped the D-Reaper four years ago!" Kazu yelled out.

Alice spoke out in a soft voice, "Where are the other digimon?"

"In the Digital World." Impmon replied. "We came from a portal just awhile from here."

"Just who is this Mistress?" Ryo asked keeping his eyes on the road.

"She's a mean mean lady." Calumon said. "You have to save the other digimon."

Jeri looked down at the little digimon in her arms. Tears welled up in her eyes, she hated seeing her friends, or anyone for that matter, hurt. She looked up and saw that they had arrived at the cabin. They all exited the van and Rika and Jeri brought the digimon to one of the rooms and put them to bed. They all gathered in the room with a fire place.

"What are we going to do?" Kenta asked everyone. All of them were bummed, their vacation would have to be put on hold.

"It's obvious what we have to do. We have to go to the Digiworld and save Renamon and the others." Rika replied.

"Someone has to stay and watch Impmon and Calumon," Henry replied.

"I will," Alice raised her hand. "I've never been to the Digiworld so it would be a good idea for me to stay here since I don't know what to expect there."

"All right then." Takato said. He looked at Jeri, "Jeri, are you going to stay here too?"

Jeri shooked her head and replied, "No, if it really is one of the D-Reaper agents then I want to settle the score with it."

"Then it's set. We're all off to the Digital World." Henry said.

They all got up, bid farewell to Alice, and left to find the portal. None of them knew what they were in for.
