OK, Admittedly it's often hard to choose favorite charities. I know there's a lot, but hey - I think they're all worthy causes and I hope you'll at least look into them! Admittedly most of them are American-based, but then hey...I'm American! Some of them are international.

Warm Up America!

Crochet or knit a section for an afghan that will help warm a person in a homeless shelter, battered women's shelter, or similar facility. If you don't crochet or knit, check the website for ways to help.

An organization that provides supplies to medical mission teams.

Operation Christmas Child

Pack a shoebox full of small gifts for a child in a developing country. This is a project of Samaritan's Purse, which I also like. Samaritan's Purse is a Christian relief organization that provides wonderful things like clean water, fish ponds, and job training to folks who desperately need it.

SPCA International

A great organization that fights animal cruelty. Look for a local SPCA chapter in your area - it's a great way to find a pet!

Cell Phones for Soldiers

OK, I know most of y'all replace your cell phone fairly often. So what will you do with your old phone? Why not send it off to this organization, so they can sell it to a company that will recycle it and use the money to buy a phone card to let a soldier call home?

Citizen SAM

This is a great organization that will show you several ways to provide a little support to our military.

North American Mission Board

This organization provides disaster relief services to folks who have experienced natural or man-made disasters.
