* OTHER JAPANESE ANIME'S *
Brief Description and My Personal Opinion
(Which really doesn't amount to much, tee hee!)
FUSHIGI YUGI
This was not just good...its GREAT! I heard about this from Lelola's site and decided to
rent the first video, "The Mysterious Play". It was so good that I found myself so
bummed when it was over. Now I desperately want to see more. It's about a 15 year
old girl who, as a favor, accompanied her friend to the library. While there, she is
lured to a book by the appearance of a large red bird. When she and her friend begin
to read the book, they are both drawn into the ancient chinese land that the book speaks
of. Somehow her friend (Yui) returns to the real world to finish reading the book, but Miaka
is left in the ancient world to act out the story. There are Bishonen boys and girls
in this anime. It is serious yet hilarious. There is quite a bit of martial arts, but
it is not at all overly violent. And, yes girls, there is some great romance. I would
have to guess that the general age group that would enjoy this anime is 13 and up.
GUNDAM WING
What's not to like? Five bishi gundam pilots and two bishi bad guys cannot
come to terms. Is mankind happy when it is at war or peace?
POKEMON
Still one of the hottest anime's showing on Kids WB. Ash Ketchem along with
his friends Misty and (usually) Brock travel to different parts of the country
seeking to become Master Pokemon Trainers.
MONSTER RANCHER
The story is about Genki who is swept into the land of monsters. His job is to
defeat the mighty Mo and the baddies and restore peace and happiness. That's a
pretty big job for a 10 year old.
DRAGONBALL Z
If you like rock'em, sock'em, beat-em-up kind of anime, then this is the show for
you.
TENCHI
Five beautiful, but very different, girls all want the same guy, "TENCHI". Is that
a good thing or a bad thing?
THE BIG O
Ummmm, I'll get back to you on this one. It would help if I watched it, duh.
