What Codec to use

The good: anything can play it, unless you have a computer dating back to the stone age.
The bad: quality wise there is better and better compresion than mpeg
divx5
The good: really good quality and not as much loss in quality when screened up to full screen
The bad: not popular lets face it its pretty new
mpeg2
The good: In my opinion the best codec only in high res however, absoulute best quality perfect for sending to cons via dvd-R.
The bad: I dunno bid files
Anything else ( WMV, ASF )
The good: great compresion
The bad: bad quaility
mp3 or mp2
The good: for final output the best audio compression, use only mp3 for computers, use mp2 for con VHS or DVD
The bad: wav is better for quality
