The Blitz Team defeats a team of Rev Raptors to add another victory to their winning streak. The Blitz Team has a feast and Leena bites Bit's shoulder. Jamie says that they can pay off all their debts with the prize money they've been earning. Then they get a message from the ZBC saying that the Zoid trials would take place the next day, and their opponent for the next battle is the Lightning Team. The Lightning Team, made of three Lightning Saix piloted by Chris and Kelly Tasker and Jack Sisco, is said to be the best team around, and they have been winning all their battles. Bit is looking forward to the challenge. At the Lightning Team's base, Jack thinks about his upcoming battle with the Blitz Team.
At the Zoid trials, Bit does pretty well and takes first place for a while, but gets bumped down a lot when all the veterans outscore him. Brad, who got 11th, and Leena, who got 19th, did worse then Bit. Jack talks to Bit and says that he was impressed that Bit actually held first place for a while. Bit snaps at him and asks what he got, and Jack replies that he hasn't gone yet. Then Jack gets in his Saix and runs the course and gets third place, followed closely by the Tasker sisters. Bit is shocked, and Jack is pleased that at least one of his team got in the top three.
Back at the Blitz Team's base, Jamie tells the Blitz Team their strategy, the Overtake Strategy, to combat the Saix zoids based on the data acquired by the Zoid trials. They plan to dodge the Lightning Team's first charge and then turn around and attack because the guns on the Saix's backs can't pivot around. The battle takes place on a grassy area. The Lightning Saix arrive and the battle starts, with Bit in the Jager this time. The Saix run in a straight line, one right behind the other. The Blitz Team can't figure out what they're doing, and Leena fires at them. The two Saix in the back activate their ion boosters and run around the first one, which is pulled forward. Leena wonders why she missed even though she aimed correctly, and Jamie explains that they can achieve speeds not reflected in the data of the Zoid trials because two Saix travel in the slipstream of the first one, so they can accelerate better and they pull the first one forward using the drag they create.
The Saix run at Leena and knock her over with their speed, and she is out of the battle. The three Saix run towards Bit and Brad, who dodge them and fire at the Saix. The Saix pull off incredibly precise maneuvers to dodge the fire. Bit and Brad run after them, but then the Saix stop suddenly and Bit and Brad pass them. The Saix shoot down Brad, but Bit uses the Jagar's speed to escape. Jack goes after Bit alone to get revenge for when Bit defeated him in their previous battle. Bit keeps trying to attack Jack with a strike laser claw, but Jack always dodges. Jack says that when Bit beat him, he worked hard to gain perfect control of his Saix. Jack continues on and says that Bit's attack always relies on the Liger's speed, that Bit doesn't have precision and control, and that evading is no challenge. Jack then says that Bit needs to take his battles more seriously, and now he's going to beat Bit. Bit refuses to listen to Jack and says that he and Liger and doesn't think he can beat him and the Liger, and once again attacks with a strike laser claw. Jack jumps to the side and fires his gun, but the Liger activates its ion boosters to save them. Jack knows that human reflexes could never be that fast, and wonders how Bit did it.
Bit tells the Liger that the strike laser claw attack is not working, and to try Jamie's Overtake Strategy. Liger doesn't want to, and charges for another strike laser claw, even though Bit tells it not to. Jack dodges again, and then he and the Tasker sisters surround Bit, who gives up. The Lightning Team wins, and Bit decides that Jack is right and that he's going to start taking the battles more seriously.
