The Royal Cup is a tournament for all of the Class A teams. It takes place on a peninsula, where many judges moniter battles that occur during the competition. The winning team of the Cup will get to be in Class S, where the battles are much fiercer and the prize money is better. It's a very exciting event that only happens every four years, and it's about to start again. The top Class B team, the Saber Fang Team, who changed their name from the Tigers, is allowed to fight in the Royal Cup. Harry Champ gets in by luck, and of course, the Blitz Team will be fighting in it too. Vega in the Berserk Fury, which now has armor, will be competing, since he's fighting in official battles and has made it all the way to Class A in a very short time. The Backdraft Group plans to take over all battles using the Royal Cup, and Sarah gets permission from the Committee of Seven to be in charge of the take-over.

To win the Royal Cup, a team has to win five battles to get data of where the finish line is. There are 100 teams fighting in the Cup, and the Blitz Team thinks it will be easy to win this, but Jamie is worried about Team Vega. The night before the competition starts, all of the teams get ready for it to start. Vega is dropped off by a Backdraft Whale King, and Harry desperately wants to find Leena. In the morning, a ton of judges are released and the Royal Cup begins. All the teams set off to get into battles and try to win. The Blitz Team finds a battlefield with no opponent, so they move on. Harry is looking for Leena when he runs into the Saber Fang Team, but both teams back out of the battle.

Jamie detects a lot of battles starting, and one of them has the Fluegel Team in it. Bit hopes that they win so he can fight Leon. Then the Blitz Team finds another judge, and a battle starts between them and the Lightning Team. Bit goes out using Jager, and the battle starts. The Saix use drafting to build up their speed, and Leena shoots at them. The Saix charge at her, but she survives their attack. One of the Tasker sisters attacks Leena, but misses, and then runs back into formation with Jack leading.

The Tasker sisters chase Brad and he releases smoke. One of the sisters gets confused and stops, giving Brad the chance to shoot her down. Leena takes out the other sister, and Jack and Bit prepare to battle. They activate their boosters and do the usual running while knocking into each other routine. They leap over a cliff and run towards a forest. Jack stops right before the trees but Bit keeps running and smashes into the forest.

Jack watches the trees and then Bit jupms out and attacks with a strike laser claw before Jack can avoid it. The Blitz Team won their first battle and get some data of where the finish line is. Jack doesn't mind losing and leaves. Vega has won a battle too, and is getting bored already. At a Backdraft building, Sarah orders Major Polta to shoot a charged particle beam at the ZBC's judge satellite. He hesitates and the Count contacts them and tells Polta to do it. The charged particle beam is fired and the ZBC's satellite is destroyed and replaced with a Backdraft one. It releases a lot of dark judges, which land on some of the white ones. The Backdraft Group's plan to take over all Zoid battles has started.
