Ah, ancient Egypt. One of my favorite subjects! It's no wonder, then, that I've tried to elaborate on the world that the Yamis and their contemporaries lived in ^_~
I hope to tidy up this page soon and give it an Egyptian background, but in the meantime it will talk mostly about the different characters and their personalities ^^ Have fun :D
During the time that Yugioh was the Pharaoh, there were many other interesting characters around, such as Seth, the traitorous high priest, Bakare, King of Thieves, Kythiopia, one of the Pharaoh's guards and possibly his love interest (Des's character, BTW), and Khu, the Pharaoh's most trusted bodyguard who leads a secret life as a zealot leader (my character, BTW). In these tales from Egypt, I have tried to explore the characters' personalities and show what has made them the way they are today, such as Yami Bakura's disgust of the human race and his desires for power.
I have also tried to flesh out Seth's character to show how different he really is from his descendant Seto Kaiba ^_~ Seth is quite the womanizer in his spare time, and he also has an older brother, Khu, whom no one seems to know about. In comparison with this brother, Seth is rather good-humored, but not as smart at times. His brother, however, while crafty and cunning, is also cold and calculating. Khu does care about the members of his zealot band, but it is yet unclear whether his younger brother means anything to him or not. They seem to have a bit of a dysfunctional relationship and are both after the destruction of the Pharaoh, and Khu has mentioned that he tricked Seth into helping him.
Bakare is, of course, Yami Bakura, but in ancient Egypt he didn't crave power the way he does now. He even had a close friend, but that friend died tragically in as yet unknown circumstances. That event, in addition to the betrayal of others who were close to him, was mostly responsible for embittering him so. More will be revealed later about his tragic life, but for now we also know that his family never cared about him either, and that his father often abused him and his two siblings. **cuddles poor Yami B!**
Kythiopia is also cold and calculating, as Khu is, but she is one of the "good guys," unlike Seth's brother. She is sworn to protect the Pharaoh at all costs and is quite willing to go to any lengths to do so.
