As the tournament begins, Krillin is forced to fight Bacterian, a fighter who makes his opponents so sick with his ungodly stench that they cannot fight. Krillin, however, is able to defeat Bacterian because he has no nose, making it an easy win for the bald fighter.

QUARTERFINALS CONTINUE

First up this episode, Yamcha vs. Jackie Chun. Yamcha has improved, but he's no match for Jackie Chun and the aging master rather easily defeats Yamcha. Afterwards, Nam and Ren Fan take to the ring, with Ren Fan attempting to make Nam feel guilty because he hit a woman. Nam, however, isn't easily tricked by her tactic and defeats Ren Fan.

MONSTER BEAST GIRAN

After a brief rain delay and learning his next opponent cheats, Goku is forced to take on Giran, a large, green dragon like creature. The two begin battle and Goku knocks Giran up and seemingly out of the ring, but Giran can fly. Afterwards, Giran uses Merry-Go-Round-Gum to ensnare Goku and throw him out of the ring. Goku, however, counters it by summoning the Flying Nimbus. The Nimbus is allowed once, but the officials announce he will be disqualified if he uses it again. Giran attempts to throw Goku out again, but Goku's tail returns. With the added strength he gains, Goku is able to break out of the unbreakable Merry-Go-Round-Gum, and Giran gives up, choosing not to fight someone so strong.

KRILLIN'S FRANTIC ATTACK

Krillin jumps in the ring for a match with Jackie Chun (whom Yamcha is trying to prove is really Master Roshi), and seemingly has everything in the bag...until Jackie Chun decides to fight back. The match goes well, Chun is impressed with Krillin's attacks, but Krillin's own anger gets the best of him and Chun defeats Krillin, earning a slot in the Finals. Back in the training room, Yamcha attempts to prove that Chun is really Master Roshi, but it doesn't go so well for him.

DANGER FROM ABOVE

Goku gets a fight with Nam, who Jackie Chun discovers is fighting to use the prize money to buy water for his dieing village. Nam appears to have it in the bag thanks to his incredible jumps, but Goku proves himself the better man and one ups Nam by jumping higher than Nam, winning the battle and going on to the finals.

Afterwards, Chun reveals to Nam that he is Master Roshi, who is fighting to defeat Goku and Krillin so they will continue training. Chun gives him a carrier DynoCap and tells him to fill it with the water from the city, which is abundant and free. In exchange, Nam disguises himself as Master Roshi so the real Roshi can get Yamcha off his back.

THE GRAND FINALS

Goku and Jackie Chun begin their final match as everyone watches in awe. It's an amazing match, with both Goku and Chun showing off their abilities with Kamehamea Waves, but then Jackie Chun announces that he has already won!

NUMBER ONE UNDER THE MOON

Goku and Jackie Chun continue when Goku catches a glimpse of the full moon, transforming into an Oozaru! Yamcha prepares to cut off his tail, but Chun unknowingly attacks with a full power Kamehamea Wave. Is this the end of Goku?

THE FINAL BLOW

Jackie Chun reveals his real target: the moon! Goku is alive and has reverted back to his normal state. Krillin gives Goku his uniform so he won't have to fight nude, and he and Chun continue, with Chun tricking Goku into a final flying kick attack, which Chun wins because he has a longer reach on his kick. Afterwards, Roshi removes his disguise and buys everyone dinner with the prize money, but Goku's appetite costs all the money, meaning that, even though he lost, Goku got to use the money anyway!

THE ROAMING LAKE

After the tournament, Goku sets off to find the 4-star Dragon Ball and runs into Nam, who is attempting to find out what has blocked off the stream to his village. They come across Giran and many monster beasts, who's ancestors created a dam out of Merry-Go-Round-Gum, which none of them can break. Goku takes a shot and breaks the dam with a Kamehamea Wave, but a sandstorm takes away all the water. Fortunatly, the legendary Roaming Lake comes and replenishes the town, as Goku continues on his quest.

PILAF AND THE MYSTERY FORCE

At the Ox King's village, Chi Chi and Ox King learn that Goku is coming back! Meanwhile, Pilaf is on the Dragon Ball Quest again, and is going to the Ox Kings village to get a ball the Ox King accidentally took! But, there is another man searching for the balls. At a curio shop, Pilaf buys what appears to be the 5-star ball, but it turns out to be a glass replica. The other man, however, refuses to fall for the trick and kills the owner of the curio shop, scaring off a bird who has mistaken the 5-star Dragon Ball for an egg.
