THE SAIYA-JIN LEGEND

This is the legend of the Saiya-Jin race, as told throughout the Saiya-Jin Saga and the Frieza Saga, as well as the DBZ special "Bardock's Story".

Originally, King Kai said the Saiya-Jin's legend went like this...

The Saiya-Jin's existed on a planet which was inhabited by a smaller, weaker race called the Tuffles. Unfortunately, the Saiya-Jin's had no technology while the Tuffles were very technologically advanced. For all practical reasons, the Tuffles should have won. But the Saiya-Jins had one advantage.

All of the Saiya-Jins had tails. Whenever the moon turned full, they could look at the moon and turn into a large, brutish monkey called an Oozaru. One day, the moon turned full for the first time in 100 years. Transformed and ungodly strong, the Saiya-Jins destroyed the Tuffles.

Angered by their feats, the Guardian of the Saiya-Jin planet killed all of the Saiya-Jins, then destroyed the planet. During the brief hours where the Saiya-Jins had technology, they launched 4 young babies to different planets, where they would take over the planets and conquer Earth. Those babies were Vegeta, Goku, Nappa, and Radditz.

But then the Frieza Saga came out. Between Frieza Saga and "Bardock's Story", we have learned that the Saiya-Jin story King Kai knew was completely wrong. From the Frieza Saga and the DBZ special "Bardock's Story", we have learned...

The Saiya-Jins were hired by Frieza to conquer planets for him. But Frieza never really liked the Saiya-Jins, and was afraid that one day, one would transform into a Super Saiya-Jin and conquer him.

One of the Saiya-Jins is Bardock, who has just been blessed with a son. One day, on a mission, he has a vision of Frieza destroying the entire Saiya-Jin race. Angered, Bardock went back and attempted to convince everyone what was going on. It didn't work.

Later on, he met a dying Saiya-Jin, who knew of Frieza's plan. With this man as his proof, he was able to convince the others, who were already angered that Frieza wanted King Vegeta's son.

During this time, Prince Vegeta was with Frieza. It is apparent during the flashback that Vegeta was a "peace offering" from the Saiya-Jins to Frieza.

Vegeta, during the entire battle, is inside of Frieza's ship, to young to be suspicious and in an area where he can't tell what's going on. Bardock launched an attack on Frieza's ship while King Vegeta (Vegeta's father) attacked from the inside with an army. King Vegeta and his army were killed. Frieza then came on top of the ship and faced the Saiya-Jins. Bardock got ready to blow him away, but Frieza powered up and attacked first. The blast killed all the Saiya-Jins (Dodoria claims during the Frieza Saga that Vegeta was spared due to his skills). Just before the blast, he had another vision: this one of his son, now a strong, powerful adult, defeating Frieza.

Just before the blast, Bardock's son was sent to another planet. His sons name was Kakkorot, and he would land on planet Earth. There, he would be raised by a kind martial artist to become known as Goku.

Now, I've never actually seen "Bardock's Story", so this is more or less based on a summary I read online of it. If I'm wrong, please tell me so I can correct it!!!!
