HIS DEAL: One of the last four Saiya-Jins alive and the second strongest fighter in the universe, Vegeta is a harsh unforgiving fighter, second only to Goku.

When Frieza destroyed the planet Vegeta, Vegeta was inside Frieza's ship, a peace offering from Vegeta's father, King Vegeta. Frieza raised Vegeta to be a deadly fighter, and eventually sent him to Earth along with Nappa to take over the planet. It was there that he met up with Goku, who spared his life when defeat came.

Sick of working for Frieza, Vegeta set out to wish for immortality using the Namek Dragonballs. It was there that he ran into Frieza, out to wish for immortality as well, and Krillan and Gohan, who where out to wish back their dead friends Tien, Yamcha, and Chaotzu. After a six-day journey, Goku arrived on Namek and did battle with Captain Ginyu and the Ginyu Force. If it hadn't been for the Senzu Beans Goku had, Krillan, Gohan and Vegeta would have died. While healing from his battle with Capt. Ginyu, Frieza ultimately killed Vegeta, but he was resurrected when King Kai told Kame, the guardian of Earth, to wish everyone killed by Frieza back to life. Resurrected and back at full power, Vegeta set off to kill Frieza (who was currently fighting the newly transformed Super Saiya-Jin Goku), but before he could get his chance for revenge, the guardian of Namek, the Great Guru, had Dende use the Namek Dragonballs to wish everyone but Goku and Frieza to Earth. Before he could even get one shot off, Vegeta was sent to Earth.

He was a small help to the fighters, defeating Android 20. But when the real Androids showed up, Android 18 handed him his butt(and broke his arm.) He realized then that he needed to be stronger. After reaching Ultra Super Saiya-Jin, Vegeta set out to fight Cell and nearly got killed. He then spent another day in the Time Chamber just to get stronger.

At the final battle with Cell, Gohan was in a stalemate with Cell. When the rest of the Z fighters couldn't distract him long enough to kill him, Vegeta flew up and attacked him from above, allowing Gohan to win.

Recently, Vegeta fought in the Tournament, but left to do battle with Babbidi. He was, however, possessed by Babbidi and fought Goku, whom he tricked into letting his guard down and KO'd. While fighting with Buu, though, he was forced to sacrifice himself in an attempt to defeat Buu.

Shortly afterwards, the fortune teller Baba Yaga took Vegeta back to Earth with the hopes that he would defeat Buu. There, he fused with Goku to form Vegetto so that they could take on Buu. After being absorbed by Buu, the two were split back apart and escaped from inside Buu, along with Gohan, Piccolo, Goten and Trunks. However, now Goku and Vegeta both face a new danger: a new, stronger Buu.

CURRENT WHEREABOUTS: Although he's still technically dead, Vegeta's time on Earth is going to be...painful. Look for a big battle very soon, which will show whether or not Vegeta can actually put away his rivalry with Goku and help him save Earth.

TRANSFORMATIONS:

• SUPER SAIYA-JIN--Achieved at the beginning of the Android Saga. First seen during his battle with Android 20; shortly after intense training in a gravity room and outer space. Transformation triggered by his frustration at being second to Goku.
• ULTRA SUPER SAIYA-JIN--Achieved shortly before battle with Imperfect Cell. First seen during battle with Imperfect Cell; after intense training in Hyperbolic Time Chamber with Future Trunks.
• SUPER SAIYA-JIN 2--Achieved about 1/3 through Majin Buu Saga. First seen during battle with Goku; achieved due to possession by Babbidi.
• MAJIN VEGETA--Achieved after Gohan's battle with Dabura. First seen after possession by Babbidi; achieved due to Babbidi's possession, which allowed him to reach SS2.

TECHNIQUES

• GALIT GUN--Really strong blast. Vegeta almost destroyed the Earth with it during the Saiya-Jin Saga.
• BIG BANG--Sort of like the Final Flash, Vegeta tends to use this to finish opponents to.
• FINAL FLASH--This attack is one Vegeta likes to use to destroy his opponents (hence, the term final).

BATTLES:

THE SAIYA-JIN SAGA

• VS. THE ARLIANS--Vegeta fought a group of aliens who held him and Nappa hostage en route to Earth. After saving a young betrothed couple and freeing the planet, the cold-hearted Vegeta, despite being hailed as an Arlian hero, destroyed the planet and all it's inhabitants.
• VS. GOKU--In one of his only fight scenes in this saga, Vegeta was forced to transform to fight Goku. He was defeated when Krillin cut off his tail.
• VS. GOHAN--Goku convinced Gohan to look at the fake moon Vegeta had created in a last ditch effort to stop Vegeta. Vegeta was able to cut off Gohan's tail after he had transformed, but Gohan landed on him and crushed him.

THE FRIEZA SAGA

• VS. KOUIE--Vegeta fought this Frieza henchmen upon his arrival on Namek, leading Zarbon and Dodoria to learn of his new, hyped up power level.
• VS. DODORIA--Vegeta rather easily defeated Dodoria, but not until he destroyed the last scouter.
• VS. A NAMEK CAMP--Vegeta destroyed a Namek camp to steal their Dragon Ball, in order to prevent Frieza from making his wish.
• VS. ZARBON--Zarbon had to transform to defeat Vegeta, but forgot to go back and kill the Prince, allowing Vegeta to live another day.
• VS. ZARBON(2ND TIME; POST HEALING TANK)--Vegeta and Zarbon had a rematch after Vegeta recovered. This was the first time we learned that Saiya-Jin's grow stronger after they get beaten, as shown by Vegeta's decisive vicotory.
• VS. GULDO--When Krillin and Gohan were near death, Vegeta jumped in and saved them, though he claimed it was because he had an old score with Guldo.
• VS. RECOOME--Vegeta was nearly killed, though a last minute attack by Krillin gave Gohan the chance to save him...albeit barely.
• VS. GINYU/GOKU--When Captain Ginyu had possessed Goku, he enraged Vegeta. It was during this battle that Goku turned Captain Ginyu into a frog.
• VS. FRIEZA--Believing he was a Super Saiya-Jin, Vegeta did battle with Frieza. His life was spared, but Goku's arrival prompted Frieza to kill him. He was later resurrected by Porunga.

THE ANDROID SAGA

• VS. ANDROID 20--The first appearance of Super Saiya-Jin Vegeta. He was able to easily defeat the fat bloke.
• VS. ANDROID 18--This battle was a different story. He was about to be killed when Trunks interfered, allowing 17 to join the fray and leaving Vegeta with a shattered left arm.
• VS. IMPERFECT CELL--Vegeta could have easily beat him, but let him go so that he would become perfect, hoping that it would be more of his challenge. All I have to say about that is…
• VS. PERFECT CELL--uh, whoops. Vegeta got his butt handed to him and came very close to being killed. Just not much fun to be this guy nowadays.
• VS. PERFECT CELL(POST TRUNKS' DEATH)--Not much of a fight here. He charged head first and was able to land some hits, but he just wasn't strong enough to beat him. He would have been killed, but Cell saw Vegeta as beneath him.
• VS. PERFECT CELL(DURING KAMEHAMEA WAVE STRUGGLE)--Vegeta popped back in and fired the blast that distracted Cell, allowing Gohan to defeat Cell.

THE MAJIN BUU SAGA

• VS. PUI-PUI--Ha. Ha ha. Pui-Pui thought he could win when the gravity changed to 10 times Earth's gravity. Shame Vegeta was used to 500 times Earth's gravity.
• VS.GOKU (AS MAJIN VEGETA)--The rematch of the century...with a different ending! Vegeta was able to trick Goku by telling him they should stop and go fight Buu, but he KO'd Goku when he turned his back.
• VS. MAJIN BUU (AS MAJIN VEGETA)--Vegeta fought a good fight, but couldn't beat the constantly regenerating Majin Buu. He gave his own life to defeat Buu, but it may not have been enough.
• VS. EVIL BUU--Vegeta helped Goku fight Evil Buu prior to their fusion into Veggetto.
• VS. PICCOLO, GOHAN, AND GOTENKS--Vegeta and Goku fought against mental "guardians" that looked like their loved ones. However, when Majin Buu became occupied with eating, they turned into food as well, allowing Goku and Vegeta to escape.
