Session 8: "Waltz For Venus"

A young man is sitting on a plane when terrorists attack! Armed with automatic rifles, they get everyone to give them all their cash, but one guy is giving them a little trouble and won't wake up! The terrorist trying to wake him up is met with an "accidental" head butt as the man moves his head up, the other is "accidentally" kicked. Yup, it's Spike. And just as a third terrorist runs up, Faye pops in, gun in hand, and solves the situation. Spike and Faye catch the terrorists and finally catch a bounty. After cashing in, Faye takes her half and goes to gamble it all away.

As Spike starts to head off, the young man runs up and introduces himself as Reyko and begs Spike to teach him some martial arts. It takes a lot of talking, but he finally convinces Spike to teach him his secret. Just as they get going good, a black car drives by and a man gets out. After realizing who the man is, Reyko throws Spike a small bag he's carrying and runs off, telling Spike to meet him at an old abandoned building.

Back on the Bebop, Jet has found yet another bounty. The guy's name is Picoro, and Spike gets several million wulong if he can catch the entire gang...one of whom turns out the Reyko! It would seem they all took a very rare, very important plant known as Greyash, which has medicinal properties. Spike, on a hunch, opens up the bag. Yup....it's a Greyash plant.

Spike tracks down Reyko's sister, who was made blind by spores which fall from Venus, resembling a snow fall. Asking her, he learns that the plant is to cure her blindness, and Reyko is on the run from Picoro, who he stole the plant from. His sister insists that despite what other people say about him, he's a very nice man with a good heart, just like she can sense within Spike. Spike, naturally, denies being good. Looking at a music box Reyko got his sister, he finds a small pouch with some kind of spore in it.

At the building, Reyko finally arrives. Spike tells him about the bounty, but then tells Reyko he's going to help him instead when Picoro arrives. A shoot-out occurs, with Spike forced to take refuge and Reyko fighting to keep the plant safe. Reyko is able to successfully take out one of the gang members, but his early celebration has disastorous results.

Just as he and Spike start celebrating, a gun shot fires. Reyko is shot in the heart and drops the glass container with the Greyash plant in it. The last thing he sees before he dies is his sisters last hope withering away. Just as Spike gets to Reyko, Jet arrives in the Hammerhead and Faye holds Picoro at gunpoint with the guns on her Red Wing.

At the hospital, all is actually well. Picoro is successfully turned in. Reyko's sister is in the hospital. The spores Spike found were Greyash plant spores, and were able to restore her sight. Unfortunatly, she will never get to see Reyko.

Walking away from the hospital, Spike takes a bite from an apple and looks up. The spores of Venus are falling...
