Japanese Terms
Here you can learn a few japanese terms, words, greetings, ect... If you want to submit some words them please do so! If something is not right, or not accurete please tell me so I can fix it.

-chan - a term of endearment usually used for girls, though a very close friend or boyfriend might be called "name-chan" by their female friend/girlfried. It also is used for young girls and pets (both genders)
-san - add after a name. Use as a Mr. or Mrs. or Ms. or Miss.
-kun - a term of endearment for boys. Used between friends. It also is used for young boys.
-sama - a term of high respect, above san, but below dono.
-sensi - add after a name if the name is a name of a teacher or person of great respect
-dono - for royalty or those that require great respect. This is a take off of the japanese word for lord.
-senpai - like upperclassmen.
When none of these is used it can either mean the people are VERY VERY close. It also can be insulting if you don't know them

san(when not used as a suffix) - three
yon - four
go - five
okaa-san - mum
otou-san - dad
oji-san - uncle
oba-san - aunt
ojii-san - Grandfather
obaa-san - Grandmother
ototo - little brother
onee-san - older sis
imouto - little sis
onii-san - older brother
Abunai - Look out! (or litteraly meaning "It's Dangerous")
Atashi - feminine for I
Ai - Love
Ai No Uta - Song of Love
Ai No Yami - Song of Darkness
Anata - you
Anou - er.., um...
Arigatou - Thank you (informal)
Arigatou Gozaimasu - Thank you
Arigatou Gozaimasu. Genki desu. - Fine, thank you.
Ashiteru - I Love You
Baka - idiot, stupid, fool
Bishoujo - Pretty girl
Bishounen - Pretty Boy
Biseinen - older pretty guy
Boku - masculine for I
che - (slang) an exclamion like "shit" or "damn"
chibi - short and kawaii
chiisana -- small
Chotto matte kudasai - Wait a moment please.
Daijobu desu ka? - Are you alright?
Daijobu desu. - Im fine.
Daijobu - It's all right.
Dame - bad
Dame desu - No way/Impossible.
Demo - but
Domo arigatou gozaimasu- thank you very much
Doshiyo - What shall I do?
Dou itashimashite - you're welcome
Dou osakini - Please go ahead.
Ecchi - pervert
Eien - Eternal(??)
Gambatte kudasai - Words of encouragement from someone "Do your best!"
Genki desu - "Fine" (response to O-genki desu ka)
Gomen - Sorry
Hai - yes
Hai, daijobu desu. - Yes, Im fine.
Hajimemashite - Nice to meet you.
Hentai - pervert or perverted (worse than ecchi)
Hikari - Light
Hikaru - sun or sunlight
Hime - Princess
Honto - Really?
hotaru - firefly
iie - no
Ikidekimasu - Have a great feast
inu - dog
itadakimasu - Traditional phrase said before meals
Itai! - Ouch!
itsumo - forever/always
Itte mairimasu: the response meaning "I'm going and coming back"
Itte rasshai: lit. "Go and come back", said to a member of the house as
they leave.
Ja Ne - Goodbye, Goodnight, sort of like see you
kahn kahn - (slang) pissed off
Kawaii - cute
Kaze - Wind
Ki o tsukete - Take care!
Kioshii - Darling, love. Meant for Married couples, fiance, ect.
Kisama - Bastard
Kobota/Kotoba - Word(s)
Kohaku - Amber
Koi - love or fish
Koibito - lover
konbanwa - good evening
konnichiwa - good afternoon
Konoha - leaf
Koryu - Garnet
Kumo - cloud
Kuso - shit
Mahou - magic
Maka - Bitch
Michiron - Of course.
minna - everyone
mizu - water

Osakini - asking from pardon when you go ahead of another (used when leaving office or meeting)

Rashiku Ikimasho - Let's Live Our Way
sagashite - search/look
sake - rice wine.
Sakura - cherry blossom
Sayonara - goodbye (forever)
shimatta - damn
Shinpai da wa - I Worry
Shitsurei shimasu - Formal Good-bye
shoujo - girl
shoujo ai - literally "girl love", used as lesiban love
shounen - boy
shounen ai - literally "boy love", used as gay love
subeta - bitch
Sugoi!- Amazing!(or literally meaning that's amazing)
suki - like/love
Sumimasen - Excuse me or sorry.
Tadaima - I'm back (said when returning home)
Tenshi - angel
Toki Wo Koete - Cross Over Time
tomodachi - friend
Wakarimasen - I do not understand.
Wakarimasu - I understand.
Yami - Darkness
Yaoi - used to describe anime where there is explicit (as in 18+) gay love
Yappari - I knew it would happen.
Yatta! - I did it!
Yume - Dream
Yuri - used to describe anime where there is explicit (as in 18+) lesiban love
Zenzen - Not at all
