Ryoko's Gluttony Chapter One: Just Arriving The gang had left to America a while ago, and they were still on the plane. Normally, Washu would've just teleported them over there, but Tenchi's father and grandfather thought the experience would be good for Tenchi, for he never had flown to anywhere this far away from Okayama. Ryoko yawns and leans back in her seat, dozing on and off lazily due to the lack of sleep the night before. "Thank tsunami that princess isn't here." She mumbles, while looking over to see Tenchi in deep sleep since the trip had started. She smiles a little, and just stares at him, half-day-dreaming and half-admiring his presence.
Finally, what seemed like eternity, the gang had made it to San Diego? Washu had given everyone a translator of some type that resembled a hearing aid, so they could all understand the various dialects of English around them. It also allowed for them to speak and the translator would translate everything they said automatically into English. It was raining slightly, so they decided to get to a hotel ASAP instead of doing sight seeing, the majority were tired anyways. Sasami and Washu got their own room (w/ Ryo-oki) of course, and for once Ryoko and Tenchi were able to be alone together (it had been so long since they shared each other's own company), which left Noboyuki, Yosho, and Mihoshi in one room of their own.
Elsewhere, somewhere in Balboa Park, it begins to become very windy. Some of the trees actually sway in the wind, and a small distortion in the air occurs. This small distortion then grows to become a small hole, then gradually to a body sized one. A man dressed in maroon trench coat steps out, and breathes in the air of the rainy park while the portal closes. "Ah good, right on time." He looks at his watch, and then runs off towards the city.
The greatest scientific genius in the universe had been at work in her lab ever since the gang had arrived at the hotel. "Hmm" Washu looks at the small test tubes on the rack before her, and read each label until she finally got to one of them. Picking it up, she makes sure she's very careful to not get this stuff near her mouth.
"Wow, look at all the shops!" Mihoshi and Sasami looked all around at the city. Even though it was rainy and the sky was a shade of gray, the two had umbrellas and curiosity surging through their minds about this place: nothing would stop them now. "I wonder what this is?" Mihoshi takes out a piece of plastic with the label "VISA" on it. Sasami looked over and had a sweat drop. "That's Tenchi's Dad's credit card." "Wow, whats that? He sure is nice to let us use it!" Sasami shook her head a little, so did Ryo-oki. "Well come on Mihoshi, we don't wanna miss anything!" Sasami ran off with Ryo-oki meowing in agreement. Mihoshi began to follow close behind, when she looked over to an alleyway and saw a man. "Hm?" She walked over to the alleyway, which was about 20 feet away from here, and looks around. "Hello? Anybody here?" Just then, a man jumped right in front of her. "AH! OH MY GOODNESS!" She backed off, with the man slowly approaching her. "Don't do that, you scared me!" "I'm sorry", the man said, while pulling out something from his trench coat. "Is that for me?" "Those two have been out a long time.." Tenchi says aloud, more to himself, as he looks out the window and at the crescent moon high in the night sky. Ryoko walks over to him, wrapping her arms around him. "I'm sure there all right..." she whispers to him, and looks out at the moon with him. Normally, Tenchi would pull away or feel uncomfortable with Ryoko being forward like this, but it has been almost too quiet of a day. She and him basically slept most of the day because f the tiring flight, and he missed her company. He smiles, with Ryoko looking from the moon to Tenchi's face. "It's beautiful isn't?" Tenchi nods, and looks at her face, smiling warmly. "I'm glad you came, Ryoko." She nudges her head against his chest with him embracing her more. "Me too." The two just stared at the moon, holding each other.
