Ryoko's Gluttony

Chapter One: Just Arriving

The gang had left to America a while ago, and they were still on the plane. Normally, Washu would've just teleported them over there, but Tenchi's father and grandfather thought the experience would be good for Tenchi, for he never had flown to anywhere this far away from Okayama. Ryoko yawns and leans back in her seat, dozing on and off lazily due to the lack of sleep the night before. "Thank tsunami that princess isn't here." She mumbles, while looking over to see Tenchi in deep sleep since the trip had started. She smiles a little, and just stares at him, half-day-dreaming and half-admiring his presence.
"Wow Ryo-oki, look!" Sasami beamed, and took a few packets of carrots from the flight attendant that was serving lunch down the aisle. "Miya!" Ryo-oki looks at the carrot drawn on the silvery package, and watches Sasami open it up for her. Immediately taking one, Ryooki spits it back out, not used to the artificial taste and plain flavor. Sasami shakes her head and giggles, with Ryo-oki looking at her as if the carrots were in insult to the vegetable itself. Washu had been in the pilot's seat, doing who knows what, but Ryoko noticed the plane occasionally went into turbulence...
"Nothing to worry about! I've fixed the problem with the plane!" Washu says aloud over the intercom, and looks to the pilot and co-pilot who are tied down on the floor. "Mhmmh!" They stammer, with Washu continuing her customization of the cockpit: a crab here and there, red and pink everywhere...

Finally, what seemed like eternity, the gang had made it to San Diego? Washu had given everyone a translator of some type that resembled a hearing aid, so they could all understand the various dialects of English around them. It also allowed for them to speak and the translator would translate everything they said automatically into English. It was raining slightly, so they decided to get to a hotel ASAP instead of doing sight seeing, the majority were tired anyways. Sasami and Washu got their own room (w/ Ryo-oki) of course, and for once Ryoko and Tenchi were able to be alone together (it had been so long since they shared each other's own company), which left Noboyuki, Yosho, and Mihoshi in one room of their own.
"Wow, sure is um.." Ryoko and Tenchi looked into their room, with an opening door instead of a sliding one, and at least 3 pieces of furniture in the living room, a mini bar w/kitchen and 2 bedrooms. They both blink and look each other. "Wow." They both said in unison, and walked all the way and began to relax. "Well, it's different." Ryoko said, while floating over to the couch, since they were now in private she didn't have to hide her abilities. Tenchi walks into the kitchen, and looks all around. "Yup, sure is. Thanks to Miss.Washu we can read the labels in engli-" he opens up a covert, and sees packages of food with a crab logo on it.
He closes it and turns back to Ryoko with a cold sweat. "I guess she thought of everything huh? ^^;" Ryoko laughs a little, and lies down on the couch, while flipping on the TV. I could get used to this.... She smiles and yawns, and finally takes a decent nap in the apartment sweet.

Elsewhere, somewhere in Balboa Park, it begins to become very windy. Some of the trees actually sway in the wind, and a small distortion in the air occurs. This small distortion then grows to become a small hole, then gradually to a body sized one. A man dressed in maroon trench coat steps out, and breathes in the air of the rainy park while the portal closes. "Ah good, right on time." He looks at his watch, and then runs off towards the city.

The greatest scientific genius in the universe had been at work in her lab ever since the gang had arrived at the hotel. "Hmm" Washu looks at the small test tubes on the rack before her, and read each label until she finally got to one of them. Picking it up, she makes sure she's very careful to not get this stuff near her mouth.
Well, it seems when I was creating a serum for anti-aging, I only came up with these byproducts instead...I still don't understand, it worked completely fine before. She shrugs, and turns around, closing the door to the room. Walking into her laboratory, she places the serum in a box next to her floating holo-keyboard. She hops in the air, and stops, suspended in mid air and in front of her psudeo keyboard. Yawning, Washu begins to type slowly at first, picking up tremendous speed within the next 2 minutes. "I wonder if this catalyst would actually work. I should run a simulation just in case." With that, Washu inputs data and the coordinates needed. Waiting for about 3 minutes, and after re-doing the virtual experiment, she sighed in relief. "Well, it's a good thing no one drank that stuff, they would've been slower than a snail!" She snaps her fingers, and a label appears on the test-tube: "DO NOT DRINK". Looking around, Washu then picks up something from her mental link from Ryoko. Normally, she ignored it, but this time she paid attention to her daughter's thoughts, and decided she could help. "Well, she wants to impress my guinea pig eh? I know just the thing! Ahahaha!" She gets up and goes back to the storage room she was previously in.

"Wow, look at all the shops!" Mihoshi and Sasami looked all around at the city. Even though it was rainy and the sky was a shade of gray, the two had umbrellas and curiosity surging through their minds about this place: nothing would stop them now. "I wonder what this is?" Mihoshi takes out a piece of plastic with the label "VISA" on it. Sasami looked over and had a sweat drop. "That's Tenchi's Dad's credit card." "Wow, whats that? He sure is nice to let us use it!" Sasami shook her head a little, so did Ryo-oki. "Well come on Mihoshi, we don't wanna miss anything!" Sasami ran off with Ryo-oki meowing in agreement. Mihoshi began to follow close behind, when she looked over to an alleyway and saw a man. "Hm?" She walked over to the alleyway, which was about 20 feet away from here, and looks around. "Hello? Anybody here?" Just then, a man jumped right in front of her. "AH! OH MY GOODNESS!" She backed off, with the man slowly approaching her. "Don't do that, you scared me!" "I'm sorry", the man said, while pulling out something from his trench coat. "Is that for me?"

"Those two have been out a long time.." Tenchi says aloud, more to himself, as he looks out the window and at the crescent moon high in the night sky. Ryoko walks over to him, wrapping her arms around him. "I'm sure there all right..." she whispers to him, and looks out at the moon with him. Normally, Tenchi would pull away or feel uncomfortable with Ryoko being forward like this, but it has been almost too quiet of a day. She and him basically slept most of the day because f the tiring flight, and he missed her company. He smiles, with Ryoko looking from the moon to Tenchi's face. "It's beautiful isn't?" Tenchi nods, and looks at her face, smiling warmly. "I'm glad you came, Ryoko." She nudges her head against his chest with him embracing her more. "Me too." The two just stared at the moon, holding each other.
