She is the master daughter of the Kamiya Kasshin Ryu.She's now the assistent master of the style since her father is dead. Kaoru is the owner of the Kamiya dojo, the place where Kenshin and Yahiko live.
Kamiya Kashin Ryu?:
the Kamiya Kasshin style motto is to protect people live's whit a wooden sword: "The kamiya kassin ryu is a sword who revitalize people"( Kaoru Kamiya, episode 52)
