Azuma Kazuma is a boy with a big dream...a dream to make Japan's bread Japan! (Note: Japan is a pun. Pan is japanese for bread. Also, the title Yakitate! Japan is a pun as well. Yakitate means freshbaked) In the chase after his dream, he gets a job at a branch of the one of the biggest bakeries in Japan: Pantasia. His job at Pantasia takes him into a number of contests and ever closer to fufilling his final goal.
