Episode Eleven – Born to Be Wild

 

Sora: Last time on Digimon, we took a break outside of Myotismon’s old castle. After a long discussion, we realized that Izzy had saved Allison’s life during the Heighten View Terrace incident! Suddenly, the Dark Triad broke in, and all three of their rookies warp-digivolved into Dracomon, Industrimechimon, and Floradelumon. We escaped to Myotismon’s castle, and the Dark Triad disappeared. After that, we also found out how Joe had met Maria; he had saved her life, too!

Scene: Te digidestined are traveling through the desert again. All look miserable and over-heated.

 

Maria: (tying her sweater around her waist; she’s wearing a white t-shirt underneath) I can’t believe this HEAT…

 

Allison: (tongue hanging out) Could someone explain to me…why the Digiworld has so many…deserts?

 

Tai: (sweatdrop, grinning) Maybe it’s hot during half the year, and snows the other half of the year?

 

Sora: Oh, sure, THAT makes a ton of sense.

 

Tai: And WHEN has the Digiworld EVER made any sense?

 

Sora: (sweatdrop) Good point.

 

Tentomon: I’m trying to remember what we used to do whenever we were stuck in a desert…

 

Izzy: Well, our past run of luck has been that we were either attacked by a digimon, run into a huge ship, and/or have a bunch of mirages.

 

Maria: Did you ever run into a huge stadium?

 

Matt: Um, yeah, why?

 

Maria: ‘Cause I think I see one right over there!

 

All: Huh?! (they stop walking)

 

(ahead of them is the stadium where Joe got his crest in season one.)

 

Joe: You’ve got to be kidding me!!

 

Mimi: It’s still here!

 

TK: Kari, this is where we found Joe’s crest!

 

Tai: (frowning) Not to mention where I first forced Greymon to digivolve, and he became Skullgreymon.

 

TK: Yeah…

 

Agumon: Tai?

 

Kari: Don’t worry about it, Tai! You’ve grown up a lot since then!

 

Tai: (turning to her and grinning) Thanks, sis.

 

Maria: Let’s check it out!

 

Scene: The digidestined enter the arena.

 

Matt: Man! Just like we left it!

 

Allison: (pointing to the crumbled wall that Skullgreymon crashed through before) With a big hole in the wall…?

 

Matt: (sweatdrop) Heh…

 

Sora: Look! Even the soccer ball is here!

 

Biyomon: Let’s finish our game!

 

Sora: (runs over to the ball, and begins bouncing it on her knees) OK, I’m on your team, Biyomon!

 

Tai: I get goalie!

 

(they start to organize it, but Joe stands back)

 

Joe: Now wait a second, guys. Remember what happened the LAST time we did this? Etemon surprise-attacked us!

 

Izzy: Come on, Joe, we got rid of him!

 

Gomamon: Yeah! There’s nothin’ to worry about now.

 

Joe: I’ll be watching from the side-lines, thank you. (walks over to the wall around the field, hops up onto it, and sits there with his arms crossed)

 

Maria: Oh, please! Don’t you ever take risks, Joe? What’s the fun in sitting on a wall?

 

Okomon: Maria, you’re left center, OK?

 

Maria: (returning to the group) OK, that’s sounds good. Okomon, you can be our goalie!

 

(As the group starts playing, running around, laughing and shouting, Joe watches)

 

Joe: (thinking) I…am such a dork. Maria’s right, I never take risks. She probably thinks I’m just a big baby. (blows a mushroom)

 

Scene: Inside the announcer box at the stadium. We see an Alraumon, who looks very similar to Palmon, but with purple petals instead of pink ones. She’s sitting in a chair with her legs propped up on her desk, watching TV.

 

Alraumon: (yawns) What a day. Good thing I have the soaps to keep me company.

(on the TV, we see actors looking stern. One man grabs another women’s arm)

 

Man: You’re coming with me, Gloria!

 

Woman: But I can’t! They’re counting on me, Phillip!

 

Man: Yeah, counting on you for your money.

 

Alraumon: Oooh! Listen to him, Gloria!!

 

Man 2: Gloria, you don’t have to go. Let her go, Phillip!

 

Man: Just TRY and stop me…

 

Alraumon: (watching intently, at the edge of her seat) Come on…slap him or something…

 

TV Announcer: After these messages, we’ll be RIIIGHT back!

 

Alraumon: AAARGH!! (slumps back in the chair)

 

(we hear energetic music coming from the TV. Alraumon opens one eye and looks at the commercial)

 

Crystal: (holding a microphone) Hey, all you digi-buds!! Enjoying your days here in this sweet sweet little Digi-World?

 

Alraumon: Um, maybe…

 

Crystal: (holds up her index finger) You BETCHA!! I know I am, anyway! However…(everything goes dark) there is a threat to our little paradise here.

 

Alraumon: Hm?

 

Crystal: Within the last week, we have been INVADED by outsiders!!

 

Alraumon: Well, DUH, why am I watching a HUMAN on Digi-TV?!

 

Crystal: You’re probably thinking, “Yeah, you!! You’re a human!!” Well, it just so happens, that I’m not the invader I was talking about. A-ha! ACTUALLY, I and my two brothers…(gestures to Solomon and Damien who are standing behind her looking bored)…are here to help!! The invaders I am speaking of are a band of ten kids with digimon. They’re, like, trying to completely ruin everything here!

 

Alraumon: What?! Oh NO!

 

Crystal: (smiling) But, there’s no need to worry!! If all of us work together, we can destroy, I mean, chuck out these menacing kids! So! (pulls down a map-like sheet, but instead has a photograph of the ten digidestined and their digimon) If you see ANY of these characters, human or digimon, I suggest you help our cause and, like, get rid of them! (pulls the picture down and lets it wrap up) Thank you SO much for your time!! Have an awesome day!!

 

(more commercials begin to air)

 

 Alraumon: Hmm…ten kids, huh? (hears the digidestined in the field) Heh heh heh…looks like it’s all up to me. (sees Joe sitting on the sidelines) I should start off with the one that got separated…

 

Scene: The digidestined are totally focused on their game of soccer. Tai and Okomon are goalies.

 

Sora: (running with the ball) <huff huff> Maria! (passes the ball)

 

Maria: (running for the ball) Got it!

 

Tentomon: (deflects the ball) Afraid not.

 

Izzy: (bounces the ball off his head towards Tai. Tai dives, and catches it)

 

Maria: All right!!!

 

Joe: (clapping) Great job, guys!!

 

Alraumon: Nemesis Ivy!! (she uses her vines as long tentacles and slithers down over the seats to Joe)

 

Joe: (turns and sees her) Huh? Another Palmon?

 

Allison: (the game stops, and they all look at Alraumon) Who’s that?

 

Alraumon: (digimon analyzer) I am Alraumon. I may look like Palmon, but I’m not. I got my strong stench from Palmon, though. My Gloom Dust will be the end of you!!

 

Joe: (standing up on the ledge) What do you want with us?!

 

Alraumon: Oh nothing, just to get rid of you. (points the flower on her head at him) GLOOM DUST!! (a cloud of gas spurts at Joe, and he starts to cough)

 

Matt: Get away from there, Joe!!!!

 

Alraumon: (as Joe stumbles off the wall and staggers toward the others, holding his mouth) Now for the rest of you!!

 

Gomamon: (jumping forward) Don’t think so!! (digivolution sequence: “Gomamon…digivolve to…!! Ikkakumon!!”)

 

Alraumon: Huh?!

 

Ikkakumon: (jumps between Joe and Alraumon) Going somewhere?

 

Alraumon: Hey!!! You digivolved! That’s no fair, they didn’t say anything about that!!

 

Ikkakumon: Who’s ‘they’?

 

Tai: (helping Joe to stand) Are you gonna be OK?

 

Joe: (he’s sweating, and his eyes are heavy) I think I…breathed some of that gas…

 

Ikkakumon: What do you want with us?!

 

Alraumon: (cowering with fear) W-well…I saw this on TV…(gets mad) You guys our trying to wreck the Digital World!!

 

Matt: What?!

 

Ikkakumon: Hm…(de-digivolves to Gomamon)

 

Mimi: Gomamon, what are you doing?!

 

Gomamon: (approaches Alraumon. He looks at her sternly, but then a grin breaks out) Why would we want to wreck the Digital World? We’re digimon, this place is our home.

 

Alraumon: But…those humans! (points at the digidestined) They shouldn’t be here!

 

Kari: Alraumon, you’ve got it all wrong.

 

Alraumon: Huh…?

 

TK: We’re not here to hurt anybody’s home. We’re the digidestined! If anything, we want to help protect the Digital World!

 

Alraumon: (goes berserk) WAAH! You mean you’re the same kids who got rid of all those bad digimon four years ago!!

 

Tai: (holding Joe’s arm over his shoulder) That’s right. We’re here to help.

 

Alraumon: WAAAH!!! (gets on her hands and knees) I am so SORRY! I didn’t know! Please forgive me!!

 

Matt: Maybe later. Right now, Joe needs help.

 

Gabumon: We accept your apology, now tell us where we can find a hospital or something!

 

Alraumon: (jerks up) Right!! Um…let’s see…uh….yeah!!(points to Biyomon, Okomon, and Tentomon ) Can you digivolve, too?

 

Biyomon: We can.

 

Tentomon: Can you show us to a hospital?

 

Alraumon: Even better!!

 

Scene: The digidestined are flying on Birdramon, Kabuterimon, and Conegamon. The desert has ended, and now there in the hills somewhere in Server.

 

Alraumon: There! That building! Land there!!

 

Izzy: Let’s go, Kabuterimon!

 

(they land in front of the building. They all dismount, Tai supporting Joe)

 

Alraumon: Here we are!!

 

Matt: But this is…

 

Sora: (sweatdrop) Something’s not right.

 

Allison: Alraumon, this is a BEAUTY PARLOR!!!!!!

 

Alraumon: Eh? But didn’t you say you wanted to go to a hairstylist?

 

Maria: (twitching hands) No, we never said THAT!!!

 

Topomon: I guess Alraumon has a really short memory.

 

Gabumon: Well, I don’t think she brought us here on purpose.

 

Alraumon: What? Did I mess up…?

 

Palmon: (walking over) Sorry, pal, but we needed to get to a hospital.

 

Alraumon: (blows a mushroom) Oh, dear. I made another mistake…

 

Agumon: That’s OK! You can just tell us where the nearest hospital is and everything will be fine!

 

Alraumon: But I don’t know where the nearest hospital is!!

 

Mimi: Oh noooooo!!! (squiggly-crying)

 

Maria: What are we going to do? Joe needs our help!

 

Sora: This is a sad bit of irony. The one person who studies medicine gets sick…

 

Matt: Well…(propping up Joe’s face to look at it; Joe’s barely conscious, and he looks over-heated) He probably has a fever. I think it should go away after a while.

 

Alraumon: I can help!!

 

All: NO!!!!

 

Scene: Joe is lying on the ground, Sora sitting next to him. The rest of the group is lounging around.

 

TK: (walking over to Sora and Joe) Here’s another wet cloth.

 

Sora: Thanks, TK. (places it on Joe’s forehead) Where’d you get the cloths, anyway?

 

TK: Alraumon got them for us. She said it was the least she could do after all the trouble she’s caused.

 

Sora: (giggles) That’s sweet.

 

Mimi: I feel just awful for Joe! (stands up) I’ll be right back! (runs into the forest)

 

Matt: Where are you going?

 

Mimi: (yelling back) To find some berries or something I can use to make tea!

 

Allison: At least SHE found something to do…I’m bored.

 

Topomon: Wanna play “I Spy”?

 

Allison: Naw…hey, I know! I’ll go check out the beauty parlor!

 

Tai: What’s to see? They do people’s hair and make-up.

 

Allison: Who’s says I’ll just look? I might get a make-over myself!

 

Izzy: (sweatdrop) You’re serious?

 

Allison: Why not?

 

Maria: Hold on, Allison. We don’t want to come home with different haircuts than we left with. Mom and Dad will be suspicious!

 

Allison: Hey, they’re ALREADY gonna be suspicious that we left home in the middle of the night!

 

Maria: True…

 

Allison: Hey, I got it! We can say we left in the middle of the night to go get a hair-cut!

 

Maria: (sweatdrop) Wha…?

 

Allison: It’s the perfect alibi!! Let’s go! (grabs Maria’s arm)

 

Maria: Wha…? Oh, what the heck…(yelling back to the group as the two run off) We’ll back in an hour and a half or so!!

 

Izzy: (yelling back) OK! (sweatdrop) I wonder if she’s going to dye her hair neon orange or something…

 

Joe: (waking) Uugh…what happened…?

 

Sora: Don’t worry, Joe. You just fainted, but you’re gonna be fine.

 

Joe: I feel like I just finished three SATs…

 

Mimi: (walking back from the forest) Hello, all! (whips out a pot and starts the water boiling) Your tea will be ready in no time, Joe!

 

Joe: My…tea…?

 

Mimi: (crushing the berries she found) I hope you like raspberry flavored tea! (dumps the raspberries in the water, stirs, and pours it in a cup…don’t ask me where she got these appliances ^_^;;) Here ya go, Joe!

 

Joe (sits up and takes the cup) Thenk yuu…(sips) Hmm. Not bad, Mimi.

 

Mimi: Don’t mention it! Now you just need to get some rest!

 

Joe: Rest?! Why would I need rest?!

 

Sora and Mimi: Huh…?

 

Joe: (fever gone, he leaps up) Yeeeeess!!!! Joe is up and at ‘em!!

 

Matt: Wha…? Joe, are you OK?

 

Tai: His fever’s gone, that’s for sure…

 

Gomamon: I’m glad you feel better, Joe!

 

Joe: (winks and gives Gomamon a thumbs up) You doubted me?

 

Kari: TK, is it just me, or is Joe acting a little strange?

 

TK: I’m not sure…maybe he’s just really happy his fever’s gone…?

 

Joe: OK! Let’s get a move on!!

 

Tai: Get a move on?! Where?

 

Joe: Quit staling!! Joe has an urge to tackle some bad digimon!!! (throws off his glasses, and unbuttons his shirt, exposing his under-shirt)

 

Gomamon: Joe, what in the world…?!

 

Joe: If Joe’s going to save the world, Joe’s gonna do it with style!! (runs off)

 

Tentomon Why in the world does he keep referring to himself in third person?!

 

Gomamon: He’s getting away! (runs after him, into the woods)

 

Scene: Maria and Allison are walking up to the hair salon.

 

Maria: Allison, do you REALLY think this is a good idea?

 

Allison: Quit whining. Let’s go in! (they enter)

 

Maria: Um…

 

(before them is the salon. The walls are lined with mirrors, with big chairs lined up. There’s hair-care products all over the shelves near the door. No one’s there)

 

Allison: Hmphf. (rings the bell at the front desk) Hello?! Can we get some help here?

 

Alraumon: (running up to the counter, jumps in the seat, smiles) At your service!

 

Allison and Maria: Wha…wha…?

 

Alraumon: Hi guys! What can I do for ya?

 

Maria: Um…we came to got a hair-cut…do you know where the barber is?

 

Alraumon: You’re looking at her!!

 

Allison: WHA?! You mean YOU work here?

 

Alraumon: Of course I do, silly! I was just at the stadium because we don’t get cable TV here!!

 

(Allison and Maria fall over with their feet sticking up in the air)

 

Maria: (sweatdrop, getting up) Um…are you the ONLY one who works here?

 

Alraumon: Yep!! Now, let’s get you two started!! (grabs them, and plops them in two hair-stylist chairs)

 

Allison: Wait a second!! Are you sure you know what you’re doing?!

 

Alraumon: Look, I may have a horrible memory and am very gullible, but I PROMISE… (jumps in front of them, holding up her right hand/arm/thing) I am a GOOD BEAUTICIAN!!!

 

Maria: Um…

 

Allison: (blows a mushroom) What the heck…go for it.

 

Alraumon: You won’t regret it! What about you?

 

Maria: Well…just don’t dye it neon pink or anything. I just want it shorter.

 

Allison: (more relaxed, smiling) Could you maybe layer mine? And I want to get rid of my bangs, to!!

 

Alraumon: Ha HA!!! We are READY!!!!

 

Scene: The forest. Everything is silent. But then, we hear someone running, and Joe jumps out of the bushes and lands, tagging a big tree. He whips out his watch)

 

Joe: YEEEES!!!! I made it here in three-twenty-one!!

 

Gomamon: (limping after Joe) Joe…<pant pant> are you done running…?

 

Joe: Of course not! (turns around and runs past him; Gomamon grabs on his shirt)

 

Gomamon: Whoaaa!!!!!

 

(Joe keeps running, and sees everyone else ahead of him; they’re all panting and trying to catch up)

 

Joe: (cupping his hand around mouth) COMIN’ THROUGH!!

 

(He sprints past them, and Gomamon lets go, tumbling forward, and then stopping, watching Joe run off)

 

Gomamon: Jeez, what happened?

 

Mimi: Ugh!!! We ran all the way and he decides to go BACK?!

 

Biyomon: Let’s try to catch up with him again!

 

Sora: Do you think you could digivolve so we could get a lift?

 

Biyomon: Sorry, but I haven’t had anything to eat! I don’t have enough energy.

 

Tentomon: Same here.

 

Okomon: And I’d need Maria if I wanted to be of any use.

 

Kari: Hey! (points at some berries on a bush) Why don’t you guys chow down on these?

 

Mimi: Hey, yeah! (picks some) These look a lot like the same berries I picked before!

 

Biyomon: (takes some) Great!

 

Matt: (thinking, then he realizes something) Hey!! Biyomon, don’t eat those!!

 

(too late; Biyomon eats the berries, and pats her stomach)

 

Biyomon: Aaah…tastes great.

 

Matt: Hm…

 

Gabumon: What’s wrong Matt?

 

Matt: If those are the same berries Mimi used in the tea she gave Joe, and now Joe’s acting weird…

 

Gabumon: Wha?! Uh-oh…

 

Biyomon: All RIGHT!!! Let’s get this show on the road!

 

Palmon: Oh, dear…

 

(the all start to back away from Biyomon)

 

Biyomon: Watch out!! One Birdramon comin’ right up!!

 

Sora: Wait!!! You’ll be too big! We’ll get squished against the trees!!

 

(digivolving sequence: “BIYOMON!!!! DIGIVOLVE TO!!!!!…BIRDRAMON!!!!”)

 

(As predicted, Birdramon is squishing everyone against the trees)

 

Izzy: OWWW!!!!

 

TK: Birdramon, stop it, your ruining my hat!!

 

Patamon: My EARS!!!

 

Gatomon: Birdramon, fly upwards!! (swipes at the big orange bird)

 

Birdramon: CAWW!!!! (She struggles, but can’t get through the branches of the trees)

 

Sora: Birdramon, just give it up!! We don’t need a big champion digimon to trample us!!

 

(Birdramon de-digivolves, and Biyomon sits in the middle of them, looking dazed)

 

Biyomon: Wha…what happened…?

 

Izzy: There was no real need for you to digivolve, so you ran out of energy.

 

Tai: Biyomon, what were you thinking?!

 

Sora: (walking over to Biyomon) Listen, Bi, I think there was something in those berries you ate.

 

Biyomon: Huh? What makes you say that?

 

Mimi: Well, for one, you digivolved and nearly crushed us all to death!

 

Biyomon: Huh? When did that happen?

 

Kari: You don’t remember?

 

Gatomon: I guess the berries just wear off after a while, and then the person can’t remember anything that they did.

 

Gomamon: So Joe should be back to normal eventually!

 

Tai: First, we should probably find him and make sure he doesn’t hurt himself or anything.

 

(they run off)

 

Scene: Joe is standing in front of a huge sleeping Tuskmon.

 

Joe: (smirks, and then bends his knees, ready to jump) Wakey wakey!! (he jumps on the Tuskmon’s back)

 

Tuskmon: (wakes, and begins thrashing around) RRRRRAAAOH!!!

 

Joe: (holding onto his two horns, grinning like a mad man) YEEE-HAAAAWW!!!!!!!

 

Alraumon: (walking over, holding some firewood) Huh? Where is everybody? (sees the rampaging Tuskmon and Joe) AAAAAH!!!!

 

Joe: Comin’ through!!!!

 

(Alraumon grabs a tree with her vines and pulls herself out of the way just as Tuskmon crashes by)

 

Alraumon: (landing, and looking dazed) Want some…firewood?

 

(Joe is still riding Tuskmon, who is getting louder and madder every second)

 

Joe: Let’s try to jump a canyon!! I bet we could find one if we went back to the desert!!!

 

Kabuterimon: Electro Shocker!!

 

(the attack lands right in front of Tuskmon, who skids to a halt, and then starts running the other way)

 

Joe: COOL!! I’M UNDER ATTACK!!

 

Garurumon: Howling BLASTER!!

 

(again, the attack hits the grounds in front of Tuskmon, who stops, and then sits looking very pathetic and tired. Joe hops off the big digimon)

 

Joe: You guys wanna battle?

 

Matt: (as the other digidestined get off Kabuterimon) Joe, calm down! The berries in the tea you drank made you all crazy!!

 

Joe: You’re just saying that because you’re afraid you’ll lose to the incredible Joe!! (as he’s saying this, the Tuskmon is getting mad, and starts for Joe) Huh…? (Joe turns and sees the digimon)

 

Mimi: Look out, Joe!!

 

(Tuskmon lunges at Joe, but Joe jumps and avoids him. Joe lands on Tuskmon’s back again)

 

Joe: You guys were worried?! How sad!

 

(Tuskmon begins to thrash around again, and Joe holds tight onto his horns)

 

Izzy: Joe, get off!! He’ll crush you!!

 

(Tuskmon swishes his tail around, and everyone backs away. The tail heads straight for Joe, who jumps into the air)

 

Joe: Missed me…! Huh? (we see he’s realized something. Still afloat in the air, he looks down, and then…) AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! (he begins to fall, and then crashes into the ground)

 

Kari: Joe!!

 

TK: Did he just scream…?!

 

Joe: (getting up, he’s all scuffed up, and his hair’s a mess. Tuskmon roars, and charges) AAAAAA!!!

 

Gomamon: Joe!!! (digivolution sequence: “Gomamon…digivolve…to!! Ikkakumon!!”)

 

(Tuskmon stops, takes one look at Ikkakumon, and sprints away, whimpering. Joe’s on the ground guarding his head, shivering)

 

Ikkakumon: Don’t worry, pal. He’s gone.

 

Tai: The berries wore off. He’s back to normal!

 

Maria: (off in the distance, they can’t see her) Hello? What’s going on?

 

Allison: (also unseen) Did Tai try to “fix” Izzy’s computer again?

 

Izzy: It’s Allison and Maria!

 

Matt: That didn’t take very long.

 

Joe: (getting up slowly) They…left?

 

Kari: We saw a hairstylist on the way here, and they decided to get new hair-dos.

 

Joe: Eh?!

 

(they all wait as Maria’s and Allison’s footsteps get closer. Alraumon shows up first)

 

All: HUH?!

 

Alraumon: Allow me to introduce my two masterpieces!! Come here, Allison!

 

(We see Allison. Her hair is still light brown, shoulder-length, but her bangs are gone, and her hair is curled at the bottom)

 

Allison: Hey gang! What dya think?

 

Izzy: (blushing) Um…uh…

 

Mimi: That’s so cute!!

 

Allison: Thanks!!

 

Alraumon: If you think Allison’s hair turned out nice, what till ya see Maria!

 

(they wait…and Maria comes into view. Her hair is above her shoulders now, with no ponytail. It’s very curly and wavy all over, with the same color)

 

Sora: Wow! You look great, Maria!

 

Maria: (looking down) Thanks. It’s kinda weird, my head sure feels a lot lighter…(sees Joe, who is staring at her) Joe…? What happened to you?

 

Joe: Huh? (looks down at his clothes)AAAH!!! MY UNDER SHIRT IS EXPOSED!!!! (he hides it, looking around nervously)

 

Gomamon: Here’s your glasses!

 

Joe: My glasses…? What happened? (all start laughing) What’s going on? Someone tell me why I have GRASS STAINS on my pants!!

 

Topomon: If I had a camera, I could’ve shown you why…

 

Okomon: Oi vay…
