Episode Thirteen - Techno-Abuse

by bender180

MATT: Last time on Digimon, Demidevimon got Allison to steal my digivice just so she could get my attention! When we got into a serious jam and Gabumon couldn’t fight, her real integrity shined through and she told the truth about all of it. The confession made her crest glow, and Terremotomon digivolved to Hoyoterremotomon! Man, the truth sure is powerful... eat your heart out, Pinocchio!

(The whole Dark Triad crew are riding on the back of Dracomon, who’s flying above a bank of clouds. They’re all dressed up in winter clothes. Someone’s cell phone rings.)

DAMIEN, (pulling out the phone): Yeah, what is it?

PIEDMON’s voice: Damien... it’s me.

DAMIEN: Yeah, I figured. Not many other people know to call me up here at 3,000 feet in the sky. What is it?

SOLOMON: Who is it, Damien?

DAMIEN: Shut up! (Becoming embarrassed) No, not you, Piedmon.

PIEDMON’s voice: You’re getting off track, Damien. You’ve been spending far too much time chasing those kids and not nearly enough time purifying the–

DAMIEN: Yeah, purifying the Digital World, I know. I’m on it right now, actually...

PIEDMON’s voice: Good. (He hangs up.)

DAMIEN, (putting the phone back): Do you want it done quickly, or do you want it done right...

DRACOMON: Damien, you shouldn’t take that from him. We’re doing the best we can!

DAMIEN: I don’t WANT your opinions, Dracomon, I want your obedience. You’ll do what I say, and don’t meddle in the way I deal with... our associates.

CRYSTAL, (shivering): Damien, it’s FREEZING up here! It’s gotta be, like, freezing temperature!

DAMIEN: Quite a bit below freezing, actually...

CRYSTAL, (developing a sweatdrop, which freezes into ice and shatters): Ugh...

SOLOMON: What’s our target, Damien?

CRYSTAL: Weren’t you listening before, dufus?

SOLOMON: Er... I was, ah, thinking about something else.

MECHIMON: Solomon, our target is a settlement of a particular species of in-training digimon living at the base of a nearby mountain. The target is now only 400 meters away, Damien.

DAMIEN: Right. Dracomon, strike!.

(The camera zooms out to a wider view. The summit of a snow-capped mountain pierces the clouds up ahead.)

DRACOMON, (aiming his battle-axe down and ahead): Draconis... BLAST! (A sphere of white energy develops at the tip of the axe, which fires downward at the mountain. It turns darker as it travels. When it hits the cloud cover, the clouds disappear around it and a large gap is left. The blast strikes the base of the mountain, making a huge explosion and a cloud of dust. When the dust clears, groups of orange things are running from the base of the mountain.)

DAMIEN, (indifferently): Hmm... Dracomon, ignore all the Tsunomon. Collapse their caves, and they’ll just freeze to death.

TOXEMON: We’re... gonna kill ALL of them?

CRYSTAL: Yeah, that seems a little harsh. Can’t we just make them cower in fear, or something?

DAMIEN: What do you think our job is? Piedmon wants us to purify this world. This is a war, and everyone who’s not with us is fit only to be destroyed.

SOLOMON: You didn’t want to kill that Maria girl when you had the chance.

DAMIEN: ...

SOLOMON, (nervously): I, I didn’t mean that, Damien.

DAMIEN: That’s right. You SHUT UP about that! That was NOTHING! I just thought I remembered her from somewhere, you hear me? It’s NOTHING! Next time someone mentions it, I’ll have Dracomon drop them off with those Tsunomon.

(Meanwhile, Dracomon has managed to collapse all of the caves at the base of the mountain. The Tsunomon have all fled, and a close-up shows a group of them huddling together in a a snowy field.)

DRACOMON: Right, Damien, that’s all of it.

DAMIEN: Then let’s go back to base.

(They fly up and away, and the screen blacks out. When it reappears, the setting is the cliff where Hoyoterremotomon had her first battle. The Digidestined have set up camp there and have built a fire. Allison and her digimon are both giggling hysterically.)

MARIA: Jeeze, Allison, calm down!

ALLISON: I’m... just... so... excited!

IZZY: Aie... no one brought any sleeping pills, did they?

JOE: Somnius or Ultra-Doz?

ALL: ...

ALLISON, (large angry head): How DARE you try to drug me, Zumi! I’m just HAPPY, that’s all!

IZZY: Er... sorry, sorry!

(A lone Tsunomon hops weakly in out of the darkness. He has scratches all over him and looks like he’s in pain. Everyone stands, surprised.)

TSUNOMON, (saying “warm” with each hop): Warm... warm... warm... warm... (He collapses by the fire.)

BIYOMON, (flying over to him): Oh NO! What happened to you? You shouldn’t be traveling this far from home!

TSUNOMON: I... ohhhh...

MATT: Give ‘im some room, Biyomon!

JOE: He’s in no condition to talk... we’ll have to let him sleep until morning.

TSUNOMON, (shaking off his funk): Eh... NO! I can’t... wait that long! My family, friends, all... they’re all freezing...

GABUMON: Freezing? Wha... what happened to the caves, Tsunomon?

TSUNOMON: Uh... Ga-gabumon? It’s you? It’s been... (he sneezes) years since you went away.

MATT: You know him, Gabumon?

GABUMON: This Tsunomon is from the same village I used to live in for a while before I met you, Matt. But that’s not important. You have to tell us what happened!

TSUNOMON: A huge digimon... came out of the sky, destroyed all the caves... we have nowhere to live now...

GABUMON: That’s horrible! Was anyone stuck inside?

KARI: What did the digimon look like?

TSUNOMON: No, we dug everyone out... and it was a dragon, a black dragon with a big axe!

TAI, (angry): Nnngh... the Dark Triad, it must’ve been! Who do they think they are, destroying innocent digimon’s homes?

SORA: It won’t help to get mad, Tai. We have to save the Tsunomon from freezing, then we can worry about finding the Dark Triad.

TOPOMON: I can digivolve, and then dig out big burrows in the ground!

MATT: Me and Gabumon can go get wood to build shelters.

TAI: All right. Tsunomon, we’ll carry you, and you show us the way. Matt, Gabumon, we’ll mark the trail and meet you there, cool?

MATT: Uh-huh.

(They head off, and then it’s a black screen again. When the view reappears, we see the familiar sight of Piedmon’s old palace, and the base of the Dark Triad. Image zooms in then fades out, then fades back in to show a large kitchen in the palace. There’s a little smoke in the air and the sound of food sizzling. Crystal enters, eyes half-closed and sniffing the air.)

CRYSTAL: Mmmm... hey, what’s– (She stops and looks surprised. The view widens to show Nisomon, standing on a stool at a stove and seasoning a piece of fish on a grill. He’s wearing an apron with blue cartoonish rabbits on it.)

NISOMON, (shaking on curry): Eh?

CRYSTAL: What... are you doing?

NISOMON, (sarcastic): What, you don’t think dinner just appears magically, do you?

CRYSTAL: I... oh. (She starts to giggle.)

NISOMON: WHAT? So I like to cook! Sheesh, deal with it.

CRYSTAL, (snickering): It’s just... it’s you! Big strong fighter! Cooking, and wearing an APRON with BUNNIES! Ahahahahaha! (She leaves the room.)

NISOMON, (grumbling): I can’t help it if Piedmon left stupid clothes lyin’ around. I might just hafta sneeze on Crystal’s piece of fish, here.... (He giggles evilly.)

(Again we see Crystal, who’s now walking down the hall. She arrives at a familiar door and knocks loudly on it before entering. She doesn’t wait for anyone to answer. The room inside is Damien’s computer room.)

CRYSTAL: Hey, Damien?
DAMIEN, (typing something): What is it?

CRYSTAL: I just saw your digimon in the kitchen. He was cooking! Isn’t that totally messed up?

DAMIEN: Yeah, I know. You don’t think dinner just appears magically, do you?

CRYSTAL, (inside her mind): That’s exactly what Nisomon said... (Out loud now, and angrily.) Gah! I am like, just SO left out of the loop around here! (She starts to leave.)

DAMIEN: Wait a second. I’ve got something for you to do.

CRYSTAL, (curious): Yeah?

DAMIEN: Yeah. Take Toxemon and go check out the territory we just purified. If there are any survivors, I want to know about them.

CRYSTAL: WHAT? But it’s cold out there, and we’d have to WALK!

DAMIEN: I don’t know, get Toxemon to carry you or something! I need this done! It’s very important.

CRYSTAL, (grumbling): Fine... (Yelled out loud): Toxe-MOOOOON!

TOXEMON, (running in from the hall): Yeah, Crystal?

CRYSTAL: We have a job to do. Come on!

(Crystal and Toxemon leave the room. On their way down the hall, they happen to pass a room with its door left slightly open. Something inside the room is glowing brightly. Crystal blinks curiously, looks around, and then goes into the room. Toxemon follows her. Inside the room is the Machine, sitting on a pedestal. Some wires are connected to it and appear to be charging it up with power. The Machine glows a light blue.)

TOXEMON: What is it, Crystal? I can’t see all the way up there. What’s glowing?

CRYSTAL: Hey, quiet! I’m busy... (She puts her hand on it carefully. The camera shows a view of her face, lit by the glow of the Machine. She grins.) Hey... Solomon can use this thing to take us back to our house on Earth. Damien can make things digivolve with it. Maybe I can take us to the mountain without having to walk!

TOXEMON: Maybe we shouldn’t bother it...

CRYSTAL: Hey, I KNOW what I’m doing, Toxemon. I don’t need YOUR advice. (Crystal pulls the power cords out of the Machine, and its glow fades. She picks it up. She fiddles with some of the controls on it, but nothing happens.) Huh. When I do what Solomon does, it doesn’t work. Just great! Now we do have to walk! Guess I’ll take this thing with me on the way so I can try to make it work.

TOXEMON: Damien’s gonna be mad that we took it.

CRYSTAL: Pssh, Damien’s not the boss of me. C’mon. (They leave.)

(Back to the Digidestined group, who are just coming to the wrecked Tsunomon settlement. Kari is carrying the Tsunomon they met at the camp. It has stopped snowing and morning has come, but snow is still on the ground. Tsunomon are huddled together, barely moving.)

TAI: Man... they took it bad.

(Matt rides in on Garurumon, who is carrying logs on his back and with his tail. Garurumon drops his load and Matt jumps off and rejoins the group.)

GARURUMON: Here we are! (He de-digivolves back to Gabumon.)

MATT: Hey, guys. We brought the wood. Did you just get here?

TAI: Yeah.

JOE: I think the first thing we should do is build some fires.

AGUMON: Leave that to me! (He takes some of the smaller branches from the stash of wood and builds some fires. The Tsunomon slowly get up and start hopping toward the fires.)

TAI: Then we need to build some shelters, then after that’s done we can help clear out the caves.

TSUNOMON: That’s okay, we can take care of the caves...

TAI: Huh? But you’re just little guys, how do you expect to move all those rocks?

TSUNOMON: Well, we dug out the caves in the first place, we can do it again!

TAI: Uh...?

GATOMON: Didn’t you know? Tsunomon dig out their own cave villages with their horns. (A short clip shows a Tsunomon bracing itself, then jumping at a rock wall and having pieces of the rock fall away.)

TAI: Well, as long as we...

(He is interrupted by some very loud complaining coming from off-camera. The view changes, and Crystal and Toxemon are walking tiredly into the scene. Crystal finally sees the Digidestined, and yells out in surprise.)

CRYSTAL: Whaa! You?! What, can’t we do, like, anything without YOU getting in the way? You’re here to help the Tsunomon, aren’t you?

ALLISON: Yeah, the Tsunomon that YOU guys almost killed!

MIMI: What were you thinking? You can’t just go around wrecking things without thinking of the creatures that live there! You’re a horrible person, Crystal, you and your whole Dark Triad crew!

CRYSTAL: Hmph! I don’t have to take this from a bunch of kids like you.

(She shows them the Machine, and the Digidestined and their partners all yell out with fear.)

TENTOMON: That’s the machine that makes them digivolve!

GOMAMON: This is the last thing we need right now...

TAI: Well, I don’t care if that little flower does digivolve. We can’t just run away and abandon these defenseless digimon. Am I right?

ALL, (after a pause): Right!

CRYSTAL: Hah, have it your way... I’ll show Damien I can get things done!

(She presses the button that Damien presses to make the Dark Triad’s digimon digivolve. For a second, nothing happens, but then her Crest of Vanity starts to glow with a dark light. A black vortex, like a wide tornado, covers the area and hides everyone from view. After a second it disappears... and it looks like nothing has changed.)

CRYSTALMON (Crystal, in Toxemon’s body): Hah! Now you’ll... wha?

TOXE (Toxemon, in Crystal’s body): What is... oh.

(Crystalmon and Toxe look at each other, somewhat awkwardly. Equally awkwardly, they both run away from the area as quickly as possible. They’re both stumbling a little since they’re not used to these bodies.)

AGU: What just..... AAAAAAH!

(Everyone looks around, confused, and as soon as they look at their partners they all scream out loud.)

JOEMON, (frantic): Whatwhatwhatwhatwhatwhat JUST HAPPENED? I’m... I’m... I’M DIFFERENT!

TOPO, (covering her human eyes): Owwww! There’s something in my face, and it hurts my head! (Slowly, she blinks, and uncovers her eyes.) Is this... am I... seeing?

ALLISONMON, (flailing about): No, I can’t see! (She stumbles around, and latches onto Pata’s leg.) Izzat you, Matt?

PATA: No, it’s me, Patamon! Or TK! Or... this is too confusing. What’d she do, anyway?

TSUNOMON: What’s wrong with you guys?

IZZYMON: I have NO idea! I can only guess she changed the Digital World in some way, and we all switched bodies with our digimon partners!

ALL: WHAT?

GATO: Well, I can see we switched bodies, how can we change BACK?

GOMA: I don’t know, I kinda like it.

MIMIMON: Well, I don’t! This is like some kind of nightmare!

JOEMON: Gomamon, or Goma-man, or whatever you are now, this is no time for jokes.

GOMA: Who’s joking? I’m a stud in this body. (He does a little dance to show off.)

JOEMON, (hitting Goma angrily): Stop doing that with my body!

MATTMON: Hey, you two, stop it. We have a job to do, and we can’t let anything stop us. The Tsunomon are depending on us!

GOMA: Yeah, you’re right.

GABU: It may be hard adapting to these bodies, but we have to try. Let us get these shelters built!

ALL, (nodding): Right.

(They all move off, very carefully, and get to work. They start off by cutting logs into thinner boards.)

GOMA: I don’t suppose you have a saw in this bag, Joemon?

JOEMON, (sighing): No. And don’t call me that.

GOMA, (rifling through Joe’s emergency bag): No... hey... there’re candy bars in here!

JOEMON: They’re energy bars, not candy. And those are for emergencies!

TAIMON: Yaaa! (He slices down with his claws and tries to cut the wood, but fails and hurts himself. His hand swells up and turns dark red.) Yeeowch!

AGU: You have to relax your claws, like this! (He demonstrates with his hand.)

TAIMON: Oh, okay.

TKMON: Hey, Patamon, how do I use your attack?

PATA: One word... don’t.

TKMON: Awww, come on. (He inhales some air and blows it out in a weak puff.) Boom Bubble!

MATTMON: You know, Gabumon, you never told me you were from a village like this one.

GABU: I’m not from this village, but I visited it once. I used to travel before I met you.

MATTMON: Really...?

GABU: Yes. I knew fate would bring me what I was waiting for someday, so I wanted to go out and see the world. I went back to the others just in time to meet you.

MATTMON: You mean we almost missed each other?

GABU: We met, didn’t we?

MATTMON: Yeah, I guess so. Here, help me move this board over here to the next shelter. (They lift up a long board and take it over to a large shack.)

(In a scene far from where the Digidestined are helping rebuild, the transformed Crystal and Toxemon stop running and collapse, panting heavily.)

TOXE: I can’t run anymore, Crystal!

CRYSTALMON: Neither can I...

TOXE, (still holding the Machine): This stupid thing... it’s all the machine’s fault!

CRYSTALMON: Hmph! If you ask me, it’s Damien’s fault for not labeling the controls on it.

TOXE: Well, we shouldn’t have taken it. I told–

CRYSTALMON: Oh, don’t you DARE say “I told you so.”

TOXE: Okay. I told you not to. (Crystalmon whacks her with the non-spiked side of her tail.) Hey! That wasn’t “I told you so!”

CRYSTALMON: Grrr... well, anyway, what’re we going to do now?

TOXE: Can’t we use the Machine again? Change ourselves back, maybe?

CRYSTALMON: I... don’t remember what button I pushed.

TOXE, (huge sweatdrop): Uh... hmm. Maybe if we went back, and you did the same thing you did before, you’d find the button by accident.

CRYSTALMON: That’s the DUMBEST thing I’ve ever heard! I know what we’ll do. We’ll go back, destroy the Digidestined, then go back to Damien and ask him to change us back. He’ll be so proud of the job we did that he won’t have time to be mad!

TOXE: Great idea! Do you think you can digivolve?

CRYSTALMON: Hah! Of course I can! I mean, the Machine does that. It’s not like you DIGIMON are anything special. C’mon.

(Back at the village, things are going well. The shelters are all up, and the Tsunomon are digging out their caves again with the help of the Digidestined. Tai, Sora, Izzy, and their partners are all working on a particular cave together.)

TENTO, (holding a chunk of rock): Oof! (he tosses it aside, outside of the cave)

SORAMON, (tapping on a pile of rocks): Huh... this pile is in our way. We have to clear it, but the rocks are jammed in too tight to pull out.

IZZYMON: I can get it! Super Shocker! (he taps his claws together and a spark shines) Ouch!

TENTO: Hey, hey, don’t do that!

(A small rock whizzes from off the screen and strikes the pile, shattering it and sending the rocks tumbling to the ground. The group blinks in surprise and the camera zooms out to reveal Tai with another small rock in his claw. He looks angry and tense.)

AGU: Is something wrong, Tai? You look mad...

TAIMON: I AM mad. (He throws the rock, outside this time.) It’s not fair, you know. It probably took them thirty seconds to bring this place down, and we’ve been here for eight hours.

IZZYMON: Life isn’t always fair, Tai. You should know that better than anyone!

TAIMON: Yeah... but this is really the first time we’ve fought where other digimon are being hurt. Who knows, while we fix these caves the Dark Triad could be out there “purifying...” KILLING other digimon!

(Soramon looks upset, and turns away toward the wall.)

BIYO: Tai, I can see that you’re angry and that you want to do something. But we cannot go beyond our capabilities! Besides, do you think we could defeat the Dark Triad while our bodies are like this?

TAIMON: You’re right about that last part. But that just makes me even madder! Who do they think they are, showing up whenever they want and beating us up or switching our bodies? Well I’ve had it! As soon as we find a way to change back, I’m going to find the Dark Triad and get them out of the Digital World for good. Forget seeing Gennai!

IZZYMON, (annoyed now): Some trick that’ll be, Tai, since Gennai’s probably the only one who knows where their base is, and since we have no idea how they got to the Digital World in the first place, let alone how to send them back.

AGU, (after a long pause): Brutal, but true. We’ll do all we can, and then some more, but we can’t do everything.

TAIMON, (looking at the ground): You’re right... you all are. I’m sorry, I was out of my head. I just can’t stand seeing digimon get hurt for no reason...

SORAMON, (still staring at the wall): I can understand.

(Some yelling can be heard outside the cave. The group is startled out of their fight and runs outside to see what the problem is. Crystalmon and Toxe have reappeared on the outside of the village, Machine in hand.)

PATA: Guys, it’s that Miyamoto girl and her digimon! Crystal!

GOMA: Don’t you know not to come back to the scene of a crime? Why are you here, and what’d you do to us?

CRYSTALMON: Hah! Enjoying your new bodies? We would have destroyed you hours ago, but we wanted you to suffer a little first.

TOXE, (wearing Crystal’s crest and holding the Machine): But don’t worry, we’re back to end it all now.

MARIAMON: Their voices...

OKO: ...they’ve been transformed too?

CRYSTALMON, (with bulging forehead vein): No, that’s not it at ALL! We’re just fine, top fighting form! Now, uh, Crystal!

TOXE: Yes, Crystal? I mean, Toxemon?
CRYSTALMON: Ugh... idiot. I feel like digivolving, so turn on the Machine!

TOXE: Right! (She activates the Machine, but with no result.)

CRYSTALMON, (reaching up with her tail to take the crest off Toxe’s neck and then to take the Machine): SHEESH! Just let me, already. (Crystalmon activates the Machine, which produces the same visual effects as before: a black energy cyclone. She starts to yell.) NO! Not again, not now! Why?

(Everyone blinks... and begins to move their arms and legs. Everyone’s face becomes relieved and happy except for Tai’s, who is angry, and Crystal, who is in despair.)

KARI: I’m... me again!

IZZY: Fascinating... it looks almost like Crystal is capable of producing just one response from that machine. Hmm...

TENTOMON: Izzy, I wouldn’t call now a good time for “fascinating.” Can’t it wait?

CRYSTAL: Hey, you with the mop-hair, can it! I can do whatever I want with this Machine, whenever I want. In fact, with a push of a button I could make that mountain behind you crash right into the ground!

TOXEMON: Really?

CRYSTAL: Of COURSE! (She starts to use the Machine again.)

SORA, (exploding): STOP IT!!!

(Everyone blinks and stops what they’re doing, surprised.)

SORA: I don’t care WHAT you can do with that thing, as long as it has something to do with taking YOU back to the dark hole you crawled out of. Really, who do you think you are, playing with reality like you’re gods? It’s cruel people like you who make life so much worse than it has to be. I’m with Tai this time, you deserve to be sent back to your own world. The Digital World isn’t for conquering or purifying, it’s for innocent digimon who just want to live their lives in peace. BIYOMON! I think you know what you have to do.

BIYOMON: Right, Sora... (She goes through her digivolution sequence.) Biyomon, digivolve to... BIRDRAMON!

CRYSTAL, (big eyes and “worried” blue forehead): Ahh...

TOXEMON, (leaping out in front of Crystal): I don’t care if I can’t digivolve, I won’t let you hurt Crystal!

(Suddenly, a gray blur covers the screen. When it disappears, Crystal and Toxemon are both completely gone. Birdramon takes off into the air, then lands moments later.)

BIRDRAMON: They’re gone. A digimon took them away... it looked like Dracomon, but smaller and faster.

OKOMON: Maybe a higher evolution?

BIRDRAMON: No, he didn’t look as powerful either.

JOE: Well, either way, they’re gone now. We should finish up here and be on our way to Gennai’s, before we meet up with them again.

MIMI: I’m with Joe. I could do without switching bodies for a while!

PALMON: Was it really that bad being me?

MIMI, (giggling): Of course not! I’m just not used to being a flower, that’s all.

TOPOMON, (frowning): Hmm...

ALLISON: What is it, Topomon?

TOPOMON: What time is it, Allison?

ALLISON: About four in the afternoon, why?

TOPOMON: Only another few hours... if only I’d had a few more hours...

ALLISON: Until... (The realization of what Topomon is talking about hits her.) Oh...

TOPOMON: Right. I was so close to seeing the sunset... maybe I really never will.

ALLISON, (patting Topomon’s head): Someday you will, I know it. Just think of it like something to look forward to.

(They all walk off, except for Tai and Sora.)

TAI, (walking up slowly to Sora and putting his hand on her shoulder): Are you all right? I don’t know if you noticed, but you blew up back there.

SORA: I know... it didn’t feel like me.

TAI: But it was you!

SORA, (surprised): What?! You don’t really think I’m like that, do you? Angry and violent?

TAI: No, that’s not it. You care about us, and everyone. You stood up for us. That’s how I think you are.

SORA: Tai?

TAI: Yeah, Sora?

SORA: Thanks. That means a lot to me.

TAI: No problem.

(The camera fades on Tai and Sora walking back towards the other Digidestined. It then fades in on Crystal, Damien, and Toxemon riding on the back of a thin, silvery humanoid dragon digimon flying swiftly through the air. Damien is at the fore, holding onto the digimon’s (who is Sworddramon, the champion form of Nisomon) neck. Crystal is a bit behind him.)

CRYSTAL, (softly): Damien? (louder this time, to be heard over the wind) Damien?

CRYSTAL, (receiving no answer): Are you angry at me?

DAMIEN, (sighing): Do I really need to answer that question?

CRYSTAL, (looking down): Of course you’re mad.

DAMIEN, (after a pause): No. I’m not angry, more confused. Why would you take my Machine out from under my nose and try to destroy the Digidestined on your own?

CRYSTAL: I... well, I wanted to prove I could fight as well as you or Solomon.

DAMIEN: I’d say you did a pretty bad job of proving that to me.

CRYSTAL: Yeah, I know. But it wasn’t my fault though, the–

DAMIEN, (cutting her off): Wrong. It was your fault. What you did was irresponsible, and pretty stupid besides. Maybe I haven’t made this clear recently, Crystal, but we’re a FAMILY. You don’t have to prove yourself to me. I know what I’m doing here. Just do what I ask you to, and it’ll all be fine.

CRYSTAL, (eyes shining with tears, which she blinks away with a smile): Okay. Thanks, Damien, I needed to hear that.

DAMIEN: Hmph. When we get back, talk to Solomon about starting battle training.

CRYSTAL: REALLY? Wow! Battle training, really?

DAMIEN: Don’t get excited. You won’t be doing this for fun, or glory. I want you to know what fighting is like, and I want you and Toxemon to be better prepared to fight next time we see those Digidestined kids.

CRYSTAL: Of course, Damien.

(The camera stops following Sworddramon, and he quickly proceeds on into the sky and disappears. The view fades to black.)

ANNOUNCER: The Digidestined worked hard and helped out some digimon in need, but will they find a way to beat the Dark Triad fast enough to stop them from hurting anyone else? And with Crystal and Toxemon training for real battle, will the job be even harder than before? Find out in the next episodes of Digimon: The Middle Series!
