The Wiseman was the whole big force behind the Black Moon family. He gave orders to them all, while always consulting his crystal ball. He appears to be helping Prince Demando, but The Wiseman had other plans. His main goal was to bring his master, the Death Phantom, into the world. He wasn't against killing off people who got in his way, ie - Safir and Esmeraude. Luckily, his plans went awry when Sailormoon and Chibiusa killed him.
