Her mother, Ifalna, only escaped from Hojo as her husband, Professor Gast, held him back. Elmyra then took Aeris in as her child at the train station in the sector 7 slums. Aeris is the healer of the group and seems to appreciate things more than others. She wants to find out more about herself and the planet, and does so by joining Cloud. Once she finds out about Sephiroth plot to summon meteor, she sacrifices herself to call Holy, in order to save the planet.

On that day, 7 years ago, she was the leader into Nibelheim's mountains with Sephiroth's party. Tifa is the first girl you get in the game, and is all physical. She owns the bar in sector 7 in the slums, with Marlene.
