Episode Synopsis
Screencaps: 90 images During a meeting of the Orbital Security Bureau, the attack by the Impulse (the blue ship with the drill) is discussed. It will take six months to repair it, but the real problem is Hyperion. Oneman says they're talking about the fateof the whole solar system- what does one satellite matter? Kutsugi Makoto says they didn't expect Gita Pentiam, with his eighteen yearsof navigational experience, to react that way. They show a clip of him in a padded cell, beating his head on the floor, and surmise it may have been due to exposure to the Sphix. They mention the Geshpenst, a complete ship with no crew, Conrad Viscuess is put forward as a possible captain since he can quickly link with the Sphix. Someone else says he lets his emotions get the best of him, but Berkovich overrules him. One the Ryvius, the third level students are still working on the communication pods. The new group of Supervisors leaves something to be desired- some are weak, and Emerson runs off to gamble on Guine races using Lillith's points. Johnson showers Charlotte with gifts. Yuki is upset at Aoi for wanting him to look after Kouji. Cullen comes toget Yuki (and toget a look at the infamous Aoi, whom she's never met). Blue is confused by Neya, who disappeared through the wall when he shot her. We see a shot of the destruction the needlegun inflicted on the wall. The Zwei argue about how they need more help. Faina says Blue has been located and Heigar tells Juli she needs to make a firm stand. Michelle, meanwhile, has cajoled a uy into getting her presents with declarations of love. Kozue is upset at the amount of work she has to do and Reiko cautions her to let things be. Erina brings a mousy littel girl to her meetings with Faina and we see the Fainas- the girls Faina is teaching about Mother Arne. Ikumi, Aoi, and Kozue go to check on Kouji,who stayed late to work, and find him unconscious. Faina checks in on him once he's been put to bed. Nicks tells the others that Kouji was targetted out of the VG ops because he looks weak. Kozue reports that Faina's across the hall visiting Kouji and they all race to spy. Too late. Kouji's up. Faina leaves, taking her ferret with her this time. Ikumi and Kouji go to work. Lucson goes to pick up Pat and asks Ran about Juli. Ran is annoyed because earlier, Juli was frustrated and took it out on Pat. Juli is currently being overwhelmedby the decisions she's needed to make. Aoi remembers her conversation with Faina from before Kouji woke up. Faina told her she and Yuki are Kouji's past, and Kouji with make a new future without them and with her. On the Lift-ship, the Aiba brothers argue as usual. Yuki calls Kouji an opportunist. Elsewhere, Neya echoes him aloud, and puts off some boys who followed her when she echoes, "Everyone on this ship are fools." Ikumi takes offense to Yuki saying he doesn't care about the people on the ship. Cullen mentions Aoi. Yuki tells them to stay out of it. Kouji asks if he should just give up and Yuki says it would suit his abilities better. On the bridge, a new enemy is detected. The announcement interrupts the Aiba's fight and Kouji asks Yuki, "Please." Kozue is fed up with the other flight attendants making her do extra work. They think she should work extra for her boyfriend's point-free status and she disagrees. Ikumi is fighting for her and they should all be grateful for it. Reiko tries to stop her, pinting out that Ikumi not fighting just for her; he's fighting for everyone. Kozue says that he promised to protect her. This doesn't convince Reiko, who tells her she's being selfish and relying on others too much. "You don't want to end up like Kouji." The red ship detected by the bridge launches its weapon, the Eysfinar, and several small objects connected by wire encircle the Ryvius. Neya calls the ship by it's name- Crimson Dicastia.
