Story The Beginning (eps 1-3): The series begins when Kouzi Aiba goes to school to get his Navigator's license on the Leibe Delta. The Delta is a space station-type deal used as a school to train pilots- the Navigators. Kouzi is greatly annoyed because his childhood friend Aoi and his little brother Yuki are also attending- and are even in his class. Kouzi and his partner and roommate, Ikumi Oze, make up team 7. Ikumi is an exhuberant boy whom Kouzi fails to keep in line, causing them to bomb a test on collecting probe parts. They lose their target to team 3, whom they later see arguing in the locker room. One, a sullen boy with dark hair, stalks off, not in a huff, but quite done with the whole affair. Kouzi sympathizes with the remaining member, although he tells Ikumi that he doesn't know the one that left... They later see Aoi and Kozue Izumi in the cafeteria. They are in their flight attendant class. Aoi pesters Kouzi and Kozue pesters Ikumi. During a simulation for a manuever the upperclassmen, the Zwei, will be running, something goes horribly wrong. The manuever is called "the Dive" and involves dropping into the Geduld Sea, a dangerous area of space formed by a massive solar flare in 2137 AD. The Delta actually begins the Dive, due to a sabotage. The Zwei are on their own, because the terrorists have taken out command. The begin making plans to evacuate the students to the Rever, the emergency ship inside the Delta. But they don't have enough time, so the remaining teachers sacrifice themselves to eject the outer sections of the Delta to buy them time to activate the Rever. During the procedure, Kouzi and Ikumi find that someone is in a sealed off section of the Delta and plan to rescue that person. Distressed, Aoi gets Yuki for help. That help isn't exactly in the form she expected. Yuki fights with Ikumi and Kouzi, saying that one persons life isn't worth the damage they'd do. The other boys cannot exept this, and Ikumi flips out. Yuki leaves them in that part of the ship- which is later ejected from the Delta. Meanwhile, a girl in pink walks the halls of the Delta, echoing the thoughts of the students aboard. Yet she is completely unseen. Kouzi and Ikumi find a girl unconscious in the hallways, and take her with them towards escape. During all this, the Zwei are trying to prepare the students for evacuation. Although Lucson Houjou tries his best to lead, command is taken by Juli Bahana, the ace student. It is she who calms the panicking Zwei, plans the procedues with the teachers before they leave, and rallies the student body over the intercom. Kouzi and Ikumi get the girl, Fina, tothe Rever and rejoin the evacuation efforts. But the bridge where the Zwei are working is attacked by two terrorists who have Fina as a hostage, just as Ikumi and Kouzi finds the bodies of some of the Delta staff and go to report. Ikumi, unable to let anyone die, offers to stop the countdown to launch. But he doesn't know the password. Just then, Airs Blue and his gang, who have been lurking around for some time and hear how one of Juli's messages is cut off, attack the terrorists and help Ikumi fight them, enabling the ship to launch. All for naught, for the ship malfunctions and the launch shuts down. The terrorists' attached ship drags then down into the Geduld Sea, into Sere 3, where the radiation and gravity destroys the ships that enter it. Spurred by the pleas of the students minds, the ship within the Delta awakens, forcing the terrorists to detach their own ship. As their thoughts echo in the mind of the girl in pink, the Black Ryvius bursts to the surface of the Geduld Sea... But where is it going? Who is that girl and why is Kouzi the only one who is able see her? What are Blue's goals or motives- or anything? Why is Conrad Viskes after the ship? Why do the Aiba's hate each other so much? What is Yuki's damage? |
