Kaido is a young Saiyan boy (12 years old) and Rika is the same age (this is a few months after the last part you read, now that Rika's training is complete). She and all the other warriors became Super-Saiyans and tried their best, one at a time, to fight Yotarou (like a black, scaly Janemba [true form, not fat yellow thing]. Everyone, that is, except Kaido because he doesn't believe in fighting. Kaido trained with Rika a lot, but he never told her that he had been developing a little crush on her.
At this point, Rika had just finished her battle with the evil demon Yotarou. Little Kaido has never fought a true battle or even gotten angry in his whole life. But now that Rika's battle is over...

Rika slid across the ground on her back without a trace of consciousness left in her limp and battered body. To Kaido’s dismayed horror, her body slid right in front of him. When she came to a stop her head was two feet away from him. Now Kaido was forced to stare down at her lifeless face, unable to look away.
Rika’s lavender strands of hair fell over her gently closed eyes; her head was tilted to the side against the grass; her delicate fingers were making open palms like flowers in bloom; her mouth was slightly open from the gasp that left her lips moments earlier. As Kaido stared with unblinking eyes at Rika he realized how truly angelic she looked. And because of that devil Yotarou, she wasn’t moving anymore. Yotarou turned towards him and began walking slowly. But Kaido didn’t notice. He couldn’t take his eyes off Rika. As he stared at her he wondered what had happened to her. Was she unconscious? Or was she… he couldn’t sense her energy level anymore, and all her relatives were lying sorrowfully in silence. Was she…? Did Yotarou…? Kaido couldn’t believe it. He refused to believe she was gone. Yet in the same second he told himself it wasn’t true, he forced himself to accept the truth. Rika was dead. She was lying dead in front of him and she was never coming back. He would never again hear her voice again or see her in action.
Now he understood what had happened to her, but that didn’t mean it was the end of the chain of rapid thoughts running through his grief-stricken mind. For the first time in his life, he felt angry. He felt rage build up inside him. Yotarou did this to her. Yotarou was the monster that attacked the only person he ever felt strongly about in his short life. ‘This isn’t fair! She was still young! Why is this happening?!’
Meanwhile, Yotarou watched him looking down at Rika. “What’s going on over there? Maybe I didn’t finish the girl off after all,” the demon wondered. A thought crossed his mind that seemed logical to him and sadistic to everyone else: Yotarou decided to make an example out of Rika by finishing her off once and for all. Because no one was left to distract him at the moment, he leaned forward to move in for what he believed to be the kill.
Kaido was unaware of what Yotarou was doing. He was unaware of everything, as a matter of fact-everything except Rika. His emotions swirled inside of him as he continued to stare down at her. The longer he watched her, the angrier he became. In fact, his chest was heaving slightly from his heavy breathing; he was now breathing through his nose because his teeth were clenched together. ‘Rika… I… Why did this have to happen? Why?!’ Kaido thought. His pupils dilated and he bared his front teeth. ‘I should have done something. What if I really did have enough power inside me to make a difference? At least to keep you alive… Grrrr… Damn it!’ Kaido’s arms tightened more.
Yotarou, completely ignoring Kaido, sized up the distance to Rika and smiled as he burst forward. The adults watched him quickly fly just over the ground towards the already defeated Rika, and Kaido. Yotarou chuckled sadistically as he made a fist and prepared to smash the girl into the dirt.
‘I’m sorry, Rika. You lost your life fighting for the rest of us,’ Kaido thought. As he looked down at her, images of her began flashing before his eyes. Times when she was smiling, times when she was not. He also remembered the time he awoke after being struck with his father’s massive beam; when he looked up, she was the only thing he saw. Seeing her looking there, with him, kept him alive. But she hadn’t gotten the same help. Now she was gone. ‘That monster will not get away with it! He will pay for hurting you!! He… will… PAY!!!’ Kaido’s power level suddenly took an enormous jump that made the adults stop struggling so they could focus on what was going on. Yotarou couldn’t sense the change in front of him, but he soon found out in a different way.
Kaido didn’t care anymore. He didn’t care about war, or about his principles. He only cared about setting things right. He only cared about avenging Rika and making that demon pay! Suddenly a small ring of dust began swirling around him as his power level rose. Then Kaido did it-his skin shimmered with a golden glow as he unlocked the door within himself.
