by Mina
Mina sat beneath the shade of a large willow tree, resting her back against it's trunk one summer evening. She looked out at the grassy field in front of her, the wind blowing it like a sea of green. Small yellow and pink wildflowers swayed in the breeze as if dancing to a rhythm the wind carried. The sun began to set. A large monarch butterfly flew over her head and Mina tilted her face towards the sun for a few moments. She closed her eyes and let her thoughts drift for several moments.
When she opened her eyes she could see Hwang walking towards her. He looked as if her were carved from moonlight. He walked purposefully towards her and she stood to greet him, bowing. Hwang stood in front of her, his eyes wild and intense. The dark brown eyes burned into hers, searching her soul. Mina's heart pounded in her chest as they stood like that for a few moments.
Without warning, Hwang reached out and wrapped his arms around Mina. He lifted her chin and kissed her with a passion so strong it surprised her. His kiss took her breath away and made her head spin. She had the strongest desire to stay there like that forever. To stay in the loving arms of this man, to hold on to the promise his kiss made to her....His kiss was like honeyed fire running through her veins, making her completely aware of all her senses, completely content....
Mina woke up and it was night time. She had fallen asleep where she was sitting. Awakening from her pleasant dream, she took in her surroundings. The field was dark and the stars shone like the many twinking of lights in a city at night. The air was sweet and a breeze blew back her hair. Fireflies glowed in the distance.
Mina sat where she was and wished that her dream was real, but she knew it was not. And she had long ago accepted the fact that he had not noticed her. The kiss existed only in her dreams. But she could still hope and wish and pray. And she would forever have those dreams. She stood up to go back to the temple. When she turned around, she could see Hwang walking purposefully towards her.....
