Yuske's best friend since childhood, Kayko is probably the only person capable of talking to Yusuke during his hardest times.

Although the top student at Sarayashaki Junior High, Kayko and Yusuke have always been close, something that concerns most of the teachers, who are afraid that Yusuke will begin to rub off on Kayko, fearful of all the money they could lose in the process.

Well behaved and kind, Kayko is the one who donated the life energy to Yusuke, leaving her ill mothers bedside momentarily to revive her friend.

Unfortunatly, Yusuke and Kayko have always had a little trouble, with Kayko never actually learning of Yusuke's role as Spirit Detective for nearly a year, something that made her wonder just how important she was to Yusuke.
