El Hazard

Makoto Mizuhara is a student of Shinonome High School. He's incredibly smart and talented, much to the dismay of the school president, the shifty and insane Katsuhiko Jinnai. Nanami Jinnai is Katsuhiko's sister, and Makoto's good friend. She's very money minded and entrepeneurial. Masamichi Fujisawa is the cigarrette smoking, sake drinking teacher and night watchman of Shinonome High. One day, an ancient relic is discovered in the basement of Makoto's school. As Makoto flees from the insane Jinnai, time suddenly stops, and Makoto is called to the relic. A beautiful woman appears from the relic and sends Makoto, and, unknowingly, Jinnai, Fujisawa-sensei, and Nanami, to a distant world called El-Hazard. Makoto and Fujisawa-sensei are teleported together to the outskirts of the kingdom of Roshtaria, where they save the crown princess of the realm from the Bugrom, hive-minded bug monsters. When they return the the palace to be rewarded, they learn that the royal family is in crisis. And, with a lot of convincing, and a little jailtime, Makoto decides to help them, and that's where the adventure begins...

Characters

• Makoto Mizuhara-A popular student at Shininome High, his sudden transport to the land of El Hazard has him searching for a way back home, impressing the locals with his understanding of gadgets and inventions, and protecting the princess who he falls in love with. Brave despite his seemingly powerless form, Makoto seeks to find a way back to Earth while saving El Hazard from the Bugrom invasion
• Nanami Jinnai-Nanami Jinnai is Katsuhiko younger sister who is secretly in love with Makoto. Shes a very smart young girl who is fun to watch but can be a great pain in the butt to some of the characters. Especialy Shayla-Shayla, since they both fall for Makoto.
• Katsuhiko Jinnai-Formerly a student body president on the verge of being impeached, Jinnai has decided to deal with Makoto by joining the Bugrom invasion in hopes of conquering El Hazard and ruling the land. His newfound power of omnicommunication allows him to understand and deal with the Bugrom in ways that others cannot, and his tactical planning looks like it may bring El Hazard to its knees.
• Fujisawa Masamichi-Mr. Fujisawa is an old drunken teacher who accidently gets sucked into the world of El Hazard. He has incredible fighting powers that make him seem unstopable, but can only be used when he has not drunk. This is his biggest problem. Beer can make a man go mad:).
• Ifurita-Ifurita is an ancient weapon of El Hazard. She posseses unimeginal poweres of destruction that can destroy cities in minutes. Although she seems cold hearted on the outside, she does have a heart and a soul, and can be capable of love.
• Rune Venus-Princess of the kingdom fighting the Bugrom, Rune is a young but capable ruler who has the love of the people that she oversees. The arrival of Makoto and his friends changes her life forever
• Shayla-Shayla-The Priestess of Fire, Shayla-Shayla is a tough and rugged girl who isn't afraid to say what's on her mind. Like the element she represents, she has a fiery nature that refuses to give up even in the most dire of situations. Shayla is not one to give herself over to romance, but her interaction with Makoto might just change all that, as she begins to develop feelings for him.
• Afura Mann-She is the goddess of lighting, and probably the most responsible and "normal" of the 3 goddess's. Afura's a nice and kind person who respects the wishes of others and trys to work everything out diplomaticaly. But if you push her fer enough, she'll unleash hell on you
• Miz Mishtal-Miz Mishtal leads the goddess's. You can say shes the head honcho. She falls in love with sensai Fujisawa and is destined to mary him. Although she is the leader, Miz is also the biggest dork. Miz also has the worst temper of anyone in the series, the smallest things could set her off into a killing rampage.
• Queen Diva-Queen Diva is set out to take control of the world of El Hazard. She leads the race known as the Bugrom. The Bugrom are insect like creatures, and there are many types. She meets up with Jinnai, and thinking he is some great general sent from the heavens makes him her second in command. Shes very sly, and wicked, but has a great sense of humor as well.
