About the Series: Inuyasha started out as a Japanese comic (manga) by Rumiko Takahashi, the author of many other popular manga like Ranma ス, Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku. It was made into an anime in year 2000, and is currently playing on Japanese and American television. There are currently already over 60 episodes and a movie, and it's still continuing.
Fifty years ago he was put into statis by an enchanted sealing arrow from Kikyou. Inuyasha is after the Shikon no Tama. This is because if he gets the Shikon no Tama, he can become a full demon, with full demonic powers. Inuyasha is brought out of his statis of fifty years by Kagome. Because she is believed to be a reincarnation/descendent of Kikyou, she is able to pull the arrow out, ending the enchantment and set Inuyasha free. Although it appears at first that Inuyasha hated Kikyou, we find out it isn't entirely true...
Inuyasha travels with Kagome, looking for the pieces of the Shikon no Tama. Along the way they make new friends, and companions join their travels too.
Inuyasha has several attacks. The number of his attacks increase as his sword, the Tessaiga, increases in power, reaching its full potential. The following are his attacks (in the anime) so far...
Sankontessou (non-sword attack) Hijinkessou (non-sword attack, where IY uses his own blood) Tessaiga (IY's normal sword attack) Kaze no Kizu (IY's special sword attack) Bakuryuuha (IY's SUPER special attack where he can use the kaze no kizu anytime)
No matter the situation, Inuyasha protects Kagome. Even though he always says she's bothering him by being there, it is her presence that makes him stronger. When Kagome isn't there, Inuyasha doesn't seem to reach his full potential. Whenever Inuyasha is in human form, the Tessaiga remains a regular sword, and doesn't transform. Usually Inuyasha doesn't like to think he is human once a month, and usually goes beyond his limits, getting quite banged up in the process...
When it comes between Kikyou and Kagome, Inuyasha has an internal conflict about who is the one he cares about and loves. Sometimes he thinks it's Kikyou, other times Kagome. Time will have to tell us who he chooses. Either the real, living Kagome, or the resurrected, half-living Kikyou...either way, Inuyasha definitely has human emotions, making him a kind, caring half demon.

Kagome often goes back and forth between her world and the Warring Time Period. She brings lots of useful things, such as her bike or a first aid kit, but as time goes on, she goes back less and less often. The excuse given to her school and friends is that she is having health problems with her "frail body." This excuse was made up by Kagome's grandpa.
At first Kagome said she didn't like Inuyasha, and even when asked what her ideal guy would be, she thought to herself that Inuyasha's opposite would be perfect. But now...her feelings have changed. Kagome cares for Inuyasha, but she knows that he still thinks of Kikyou. Kagome isn't convinced yet that Inuyasha cares for her as well. Time will reveal their situation, but for the time being, Kagome and Inuyasha always have little quarrels, nothing serious, but not unusual of a couple...

50 years later, Kikyou was resurrected by Urasue. This old lady took Kikyou's spirit and soul from Kagome, and put it back into her "Kikyou", who is doll-like without her spirit. Whenever Kikyou's soul is taken from Kagome, Kagome is unconscious. However, once Kagome manages to get her soul back from Kikyou, Kikyou only has one option to keep living. She has to steal the souls from the living in order to keep herself going. In order to do this she uses her Shinidamachuu. (Serpent like creatures that carry the souls from the living to Kikyou. It translates as Death-soul Insects) Below is a picture of two Shinidamachuu: Kikyou's voice is done by Hidaka Noriko 日のり子 (Ranma 1/2, Tonari no Totoro, ZOIDS, Sakura Taisen 4)
But, after a battle between Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru lost one of his arms. Inuyasha used the Tessaiga to cut it off. Now, Sesshoumaru sometimes uses various other arms, taken from demons he defeated, or an arm offered to him by Naraku that had a piece of the Shikon no Tama in it. (That time, he was able to touch the Tessaiga. Usually, if Sesshoumaru touches the Tessaiga, it won't change from it's rusty, nearly useless form.) Sesshoumaru's little helper is Jaken. Even though Sesshoumaru mistreats him, Jaken is loyal to him, and helps him out when he can.
Sesshoumaru's voice is done by Narita Ken 成田剣. (OAV Angelique, Edens Boy, Tenshi ni Narumon)
Actually, Miroku has a strong sense that tells him when evil is near by. If he uses his Kazaana, the black hole in his right hand, he can "suck" monsters and other things into his hand, disappearing forever. But, if Miroku uses the Kazaana too often, it'll grow wider, and one day it'll kill him by sucking himself into the black hole. In order to keep the Kazaana closed when he's not using it, Miroku uses one of his bead charms to keep it sealed. When he takes the beads off, he can use it. If Naraku's Saimyoushou, the poisonous bugs, get inside Miroku's Kazaana, they poison him. That's why he can't use it when these bugs come near him. Sometimes Miroku also uses his staff to fight as well. He also has the ability to use ofuda, aka the charms written on paper strips, to seal off places to demons or various other limitations.
Because of a curse put on Miroku's family, the Kazaana passes from generation to generation. Miroku's father had the Kazaana as well, and was killed by it sucking him in. Miroku inherited it from his father, and carries the burden now.
Miroku's voice is done by Tsujitani Kouji 辻谷耕史. (Slam Dunk, Tylor)
