Core (often used without the acronym in mind) is the most advanced and heavily armed infantry company in Japan, charged with high-level homeland defense and internal response. Possessing very heavy funding, Core has quickly climbed up among the most high-tech military teams in the world, and is best known for its soldiers' "protect-gear"; a heavy, full-body suit of armor almost completely impervious to small-arms fire and posessing a built-in infra-red visor and short-term life support. State-of-the-art micro-motors within the suit allow for mostly unrestricted movement despite the gear's weight, as well as increased strength. Core is known across the country as the ultimate symbol of Japan's technological might, and (supposedly) takes in only the best and the brightest from across the nation.

An American general in Japan, Remerick is the top army leader in the nation, taking orders directly from politicians who don't really know the issues all that well. Though a fair and rational man, he has a perpetual grudge against the DAPC for the constant damage they do, in addition to their interference with the elimination of the Freedom's Angels, which he views as his problem. Despite this grudge, he's been mostly reasonable in dealing with them, and been lenient when the company shows success alongside their rampant devastation.

Combat Ability: High. Martial arts capabilities have been noted at near-superhuman levels, and Mia has long surpassed her teachers with her skills. She also has notable skill with pistols, though she has had less success with heavier weapons.

Favored assistant of John Remerick and the #1 most-sought-after babe in the military offices, Mia has excelled in every endeavor she's undertaken to make her way to the top of the military hierarchy, and left her male co-workers in the dust (a source of much personal pride). Though John is competent enough as to remove any possibility of her making general, she is fully mollified with her current position and has become good friends with the American, inadvertantly becoming his most trusted assistant. Despite the obvious questions this brings about, she has remained adamant that their relationship is purely platonic, if not proffessional. Not satisfied with pushing papers around, she has taken it upon herself on several occasions to personally take to the field and help out. The only thing that she considers a bad mark on her career is her promotion alongside Umezeki Tekai.

Colonel Tekai is the very symbol of Japanese beaurocracy: slow, meticulous, inefficient, confused, and vastly ignorant. It's a huge mystery how someone as loose and irresponsible as Umezeki could have gotten into Core, but at the very least, he's popular among the troops. Of course, though he's a good military man at heart, General Remerick couldn't entrust the lives of so many men to him in good conscience, but was under a fair amount of pressure to promote the man. So now Colonel Tekai spends his days in the offices, filling out papers, ordering munitions, and training interns. Though Mia Tokima was fairly insulted to be promoted at the same time, thinking (correctly) that she was far better suited for the rank, she soon found that she could drop off her paperwork at Umezeki's office and he wouldn't notice it wasn't his. This has significantly freed up her schedule for operations and personal time.

Symbolic of Core's unfortunate status as a political organization as well as military one, Yujikata secured his position in power in Core by means of his father, a Senator. Since his assignment, he has proven uninspiring, incapable, mean-spirited, and in general totally unsuited for his job. Unfortunately, knowledge of his disloyalty is as rare as knowledge of his incompetence is common.

Combat Ability: Fairly high. Mizu is a very capable fighter, skilled with weapons of all types. Though she trained a little bit with Ranma Saotome, Anything-Goes eludes her for the most part. Despite this, she's become a better martial artist than any of her fellow soldiers.

An excellent example of a Core soldier, Mizu Kotetsu graduated from her academy at the top of her class with honors, and has proven to be an extremely promising addition to Core. In fact, the only thing that even remotely mars her record is her affiliation with the oft-mocked and widely resented DAPC, and her apparent relationship with Ranma "Chaos on legs" Saotome. On the job she's utterly serious and the picture of control and responsibility, but off the job she's a hopeless romantic and a bit lovesick, which makes her a raging bottle of emotions. Though prone to the occasional burst of violent temper (understandable given her occupation), she mostly stays in control of her anger until an appropriate time.
