Stargate SG-1 is based on the 1994 movie, Stargate. The original movie starred Kurt Russel (Jack O'Neill) and David Spader (Daniel Jackson). The movie shows how the Stargate was found and how the original team went through the Stargate. It also introduces the many characters that will appear throughout the series.
Stargate SG-1 is the series about the SGC and how all the SG teams go through with their lives. Hell, they even get to go through the Stargate itself. The series doesn't focus on all teams, it focuses on one. The team is called "SG-1". The team has 4 people. They are - Colonel/General Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson), Captain/Major/Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping), Dr. Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks) and Teal'c (Christopher Judge). I'll talk about the characters on another page. As I was saying, the series focuses on the SG-1 team and how they go through their missions, what happens, what civilizations they will find and how they get an alliance with 2 of their best allied partners.
