Chapter one
Ka Catma/ Kaiba
I watched out the car window. 'My brothers and I had gotten adopted. Well, Seto and Mokuba more like it. I feel more like begets. Something that comes along with two cute adopted kids. Oh, but don't get me wrong. I'm cute and smart; I'm just so quiet. I never talk. I guess I got the shyness in the family. Seto got the bad temper and Mokuba got the happy-go-lucky. Me, well I think I'd rather stay off to the side then say anything.' I thought gently.
I slowly looked at my little brother. He held one of my hands and was tightening his grip, as we got closer to our new home. "Mokuba, I think my hand is going to fall off." I joked, to get the little boy to smile.
"Sorry, Ka, but I don't know what to say to them. I only saw Mrs. Kaiba once. And never met Mr. Kaiba. Seto is the only one to meet both." The six year old said quietly.
I gently smiled. "Don't worry, small fly. They'll love ya to bits." I said gently.
Seto sat quietly. He had gone the day before to help his new mother with his little brothers' rooms. And came back with the driver to get us today. "They said to call them May and Jou, if we didn't want to call them mother and father." Seto said gently.
"Seto you didn't have to drag me along. I know you talked them in to adopting me." I whispered, looking at Seto, who was only a year older then me. I was 12 and seemed older then my age. Seto was the same thing in acting to old for his age, which was 13.
"Ka, I would never leave you and Mokuba alone. We are family. And besides, they have a lot of money and can handle three kids." Seto said calmly.
I gently sighed. 'Yea so! That doesn't mean they like me. Maybe it was my looks or something.' I thought as I looked in the car mirror. My hair was cut like Seto's, but a bit longer, covered my ears, and was a sanded brown color with black tips. My eyes were mostly an ice blue color. But when playing they became a dark baby blue. I was only a couple inches shorter then Seto.
"Whoa." I whispered, seeing the house we had pulled up to.
The driver looked back. "Welcome to the Kaiba family." He said in a low tone. Seto was the first out of the car, followed by Mokuba, then me. I was the last out. The driver quickly took hold of my arm and pulled me back. "I'd watch it kid. You and your brothers are just beat-up toys. He only needs one for KaibaCorp. The rest of you are nothing to him. I think you three should get out of here while you can." He mumbled, freaking me out.
"Al, leave him alone." A deep, somewhat dark voice muttered. My eyes shot up, already scared out of my wits. "Kaiba. Sorry sir. Just telling him the rules in the limo." The drive muttered, as he let go of me.
I stumbled back. Jou gently put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't let the old goat get to you. I'm Jou. You must be Ka?" Jou whispered as he led me inside.
"Yes, nice to met you, Jou." I whispered. I took one last look at the driver. The guy gave me a look and ran his index finger across his neck. I gently shivered. Jou quietly watched the driver from the corner of his eye. Never did see that driver again.
I slowly looked around the huge entrance room. May Kaiba looked up. "And this must be Ka." she whispered walking over to me.
"Yes, madam" I whispered, playing the shy game.
May smiled sweetly. "It's going to be great have you kids here," she whispered, giving me a welcome hug. "And you can call me May, or mom. Whatever you feel like. Madam make me feel old," she said gently.
I laughed. "Sorry" I whispered.
"Well, let's get you boys in your rooms." she said gently. Mokuba jumped around happily and pulled on my arm.
"I'm coming," I said, racing him up the stairs. We both laughed as we reach the top. "We beat Seto," I said, doing a little dance. Seto shook his head and laughed.
Mokuba gently laughed too. "Yea, we beat Seto," he laughed. Seto messed up Mokuba's hair and put me a headlock, messing up my hair.
May giggled. "It's good to see how close you three are." She whispered. I gently nodded. "We're all we got." I whispered watching Seto show Mokuba his room. May nodded.
"Ka, look!" Mokuba called, not liking it when both of his big brothers were not with him. "Coming, small fry!" I called back. May gently smiled as I ran to look in Mokuba's room.
Jou gently stepped up to his wife. "I hope you're happy. I didn't want three of them," He mumbled.
May looked at him. "But they're all so sweet." She whispered.
Jou sighed. "At least they're boys and we don't have to worry about them getting knocked up in the future. We just have to keep them in their pants." Jou muttered.
Jou smiled quietly as Seto stepped back out. I slowly followed him with Mokuba on my back. His smile is cold, but sweet to me. I slowly looked up at him. "Thank you. This means a lot to have all of us together," I whispered, locking my eyes on the man.
"You're welcome, Ka." Jou said gently. Seto and Mokuba both said the same as me. I felt weird walking around this home. And the words of the driver stuck in my head.
I was surprised at my room. It was a dark green color with a big bed, new clothes put away, even some stuffed animals on the bed! I couldn't believe how much it felt like home. "This is my room," I whispered, making sure that it wasn't the wrong room.
"Yep, this is your room, Ka. All yours." May said gently. I gently sat Mokuba down and walked in.
"Wow!" I whispered. I slowly climbed up on the bed, a grin spreading across my face. "This is great!" I yelped as I started to jump on the bed. Mokuba and Seto soon joined me jumping on the bed. We laughed loudly. We had a family again. A mother and father. But something was eating at my heart, and the driver's words were making my head hurt.
