Chapter 7
New friend
I woke to more pain. I muttered something when I saw that I had bled even more during the night. It hurt to move, but I had to act normal. I slowly grabbed my bloodied pants from under my bed, then my sheets, and slowly walked down to Jou's room and knocked on the door. Jou slowly opened the door and looked down at me.
“Here, you take care off it, since you caused it.” I growled, dropping the bloodied heap at his feet.
He grabbed a hold of my arm and pulled me in his room with the bloodied sheets and pants. “How bad is it?” he asked in a gentle voice.
“It’s still bleeding.” I muttered.
He gently led me over to the bed and got something out. “Pants off.” he grumbled.
“No,” I growled, re-standing.
“Fine, bleed.” Jou grumbled, as he took the sheets and pants into his bathroom. I rolled my eyes at him. “Watch what you do.” he grumbled.
“ooooo, I’m scared now.” I growled. I yelped as I was backhanded.
“I may like you, but that doesn’t mean I won’t beat the crap out of you.” Jou growled. I calmly looked at my hands, not looking at him and telling him I gave in. Never... I would never give in to him. “You're starting to become as cold as Seto.” Jou whispered. I looked up at him evilly. “Oh, don’t worry, you’re my only bed toy.” Jou whispered, kissing me lightly.
“Yuck. Would you stop that.” I growled. I only got a laugh from him and then a deep kiss. ‘Keep your mouth shut, and nothing will happen. Is it that hard? YES’ I thought darkly.
Jou slowly headed back into the bathroom. I gently went out the door into the other bathroom. I whimpered when I saw my face. My left cheek was turning a light purple/blue color. ‘Ugh, what am I going to tell the others.’ I thought in a little voice. I slowly did my thing and then went out.
‘Forget school.’ I mumbled in my head. I stumbled back into my room, locked the door, and fell on my bed.
A couple of minutes later, a knock came to the door. “Ka, get up.” Seto said gently though the door.
“No.” I mumbled.
Seto crossed his arms. “Get up. I know we had a long spring break, but you've got to go to school.” Seto said gently.
“I don’t feel good. Not going” I mumbled.
I heard Seto try the door and then get angry. “Ka, let me in” He said a low tone. Before, he was being nice.
“Just go away” I grumbled. Seto left the door. ‘Good he's leaving me alone’ I thought as I buried my face in my pillow. I jumped a couple of seconds later, when I heard my door open. Seto stood there. “Ugh! Seto, where the heck did you get those keys” I mumbled.
“I found them” Seto said calmly. “Ka, get up” he said again. He gently pulled me up and froze, seeing my face. “Ka, what happened?” he whispered, touching my cheek. I flinched as he rested his finger on my hurt cheek gently.
“I hit my face in the night. Got a problem with that” I grumbled.
Seto looked at me in the eye. “He hit you.” Seto growled.
“Seto, it’s fine.” I muttered.
Seto sighed. “You're still coming to school” Seto whispered.
“You're no fun” I mumbled. Seto sadly looked at me. I slowly got up and got changed. “Seto, will you stay with me all day?” I asked, looking up.
Seto smiled. “You know I will. Except the class we don‘t have together.” Seto whispered.

We got out of the limo at the middle school. I gently yawned. ‘Another boring day ahead, and another deadly night.’ I thought, shaking a little. I blinked, bumping into someone. “Oops, sorry…” I stopped, seeing a young teenage girl standing there.
She gently smiled. “Sorry. I wasn’t watching where I was going. I’m trying to find my class. I’m new here. The name’s Mars” she said gently. I gently smiled. She was very pretty. She had dark blue/purple hair that came to the middle of her back. Her eyes were a gentle green/blue.
“I’m…. I’m….I’m” I mumbled. She gently giggled. Seto hit the back if my head lightly. “I mean, I’m Ka” I said, then evilly looked at Seto.
Mars smiled. “That's a very sweet name,” She said gently. “and I know what you're thinking. Where the heck did I get the name Mars? Well, it’s my nickname. My real name is Maria.” she whispered, gently shaking my hand.
“Nice to me you” I whispered. Seto hit my back of my head again with a grin.
“Oh, this is my brother, Seto” I whispered, giving him an evil look for mouthing ‘you're drooling’.
Mars gently laughed. “It’s nice to meet the both of you. Mmm, do you know where this classroom is?” she asked gently.
“That's the same class I’m in.” I whispered. Seto stayed behind Mars and me.
Seto grinned. ‘It’s about time he gets a friend.’ he thought.
As the day passed, I seemed to forget what Jou had done. I enjoyed hearing Mars' stories. She was sweet, very sweet, and seemed to be getting very close to my heart. Seto and couple of other kids started singing. “First come love, then comes marriage, and then Ka Kaiba with a baby carriage” they sang.
I muttered something, but stopped when Mars took my hand and held it. That made my heart do a 360. Even at that age, I knew I was in love.
Mars smiled as she walked with me. She was coming over for a bit to meet May and, ugh, Jou. We decided to walk, being that it was nice out.“Ka, you're the first boy I’ve let hold my hand.” she giggled, making it funny.
I gently laughed. “Well, it’s a honor to be holding your sweet hand” I whispered, gently smiling at her. She smiled back and kissed me on the cheek. My face grew red. She wasn’t rude and didn’t ask about what had happened to my cheek.
I stopped outside my door. Mars gently looked at me. “What's wrong?” she asked quietly.
“I don’t know how they're going to act.” I whispered. It wasn’t May I was worried about, it was Jou, and his words the night before. ‘All mine.’
Mars smiled. “Don’t worry. Even if they don’t like me, nothing can stop our friendship, or anything else that may happen.” Mars whispered. I turned a deep red again, and opened the door.
Mokuba was the first to meet us. “Hello.” Mokuba said gently.
“Maria, this is Mokuba, my little brother, you know Seto, and this is my mother, May.” I stopped, seeing that Jou was nowhere to be found. ‘Good. He's gone.’ I thought as I showed Mars around. I froze when we came to the library. I started to shiver lightly, skipping it, when the door opened and Jou stepped out.
“Ka, you're home. Oh, who’s this?” He asked gently.
“This is my new friend, Mars.” I whispered, looking up at him.
“Mars, huh? Well, it’s nice to meet you, but I think it’s time for you to go home. It’s getting late.” Jou said in a low tone.
I darkened my look at him. “It’s not that late, and mom said she could stay.” I growled. Jou returned the look. Then Mars' light touch caused me to look back at her.
“It’s ok, Ka. My mom just wanted me to say hi, anyway” Mars whispered. I sadly led her to the door, not wanting her to leave me alone. I guessed I'd hide out in Seto's room.
I gently looked at Mars, who was looking back at me. “I’m sorry if Jou scared you.” I whispered.
“Why don’t you call him dad?” she asked.
“Because, he hasn’t earn it yet” I muttered.
She gently sighed, then kissed me on the lips lightly. “See ya at school” she whispered and went out the door.
“…. … …” I couldn’t think of anything to say. I gently smiled as she turned around and waved. “Bye!” I yelled, getting my words back.
‘So, this is love’ I thought, as I shut the door, after watching her until she was gone. I grinned lightly. Jou was not getting what he wanted. The only thing he would get was a fist in the face. Which I did give to him that night when he, once more, tried to use me as a bed toy. And he didn’t dare touch my brothers. I fell asleep, dreaming of a fantasy that would never end.
